I think multi-platforming is a good call for mojang.... but exclusivity with microsoft is fail.
doesn't matter to me either way... games are better on pc since you can mod them. (plus I can already play it on ps3 if I want... and mod it still.... linux ftw.)

point being, don't blame the devs because you as a user are too lazy/unobservant to avoid making such an easily avoidable mistake.. also, there are tutorials posted on how to recover a corrupted world for those who can't avoid doing so.
until such a time as they add a version checker, which will probably never be back ported to older builds of the game, play smart and take precautions so you don't have to go to the trouble of restoring your world.

anyway.. .this is the first time I have actually looked inside a pack since my comp died... lol it was more of a wtf moment... how is silver brown...omg.

1: the mossy cobble... it just looks underdone compared to everything else... it looks really out of focus imo.
2: the colors of the hardened clay..... I think they should be very natural earthy tones... (silver is brownish???) for a skyrim'ish feel I would stick to greys and browns and not add too much color variation.. Skyrim has a kind of washed out feel to it...I would stick to that with the clays.
3: as far as a suggestion for the jungle textures... take a look back at Morrowind. a variation on the swampyness maybe?
4: as far as the nether.... go back to Oblivion and the way it looked inside the portals.
I know this is supposed to be Skyrim inspired... but the world as a whole should be considered for inspiration. there are a ton of great examples to be had with a google image search... Elder Scrolls fans loooove screenshots! lol
anyway...gonna go crawl back into my hole now.

I found a seed worthy of a big project. (thanks to the seeds forum!) been goin' nuts on creative with this pack and finally got a big enough start for some w.i.p. screens.
Then I found the nearest stronghold and decided to move the portal home. (I actually destroyed it in the stronghold...don't ask why... I. Don't. Know. lol)
Next came the nether... and finding a fortress / building a cart system to it, building a double blaze spawner farm and a small wither skele grinder.. still need to do the piston system to make all the blazes go to same spot and the crusher timer
Moving on... the portal I built at the fortress brought me to around 6k from spawn, to this gorgeous spot for several kingdoms. So I started the first one..the houses are under the hill, each district will have outdoor themed buildings.. magic, crafting, military (this is all free form.... and prone to drastic changes...)
I have a long way to go with this one... already planning ahead on a few things for when mods get updated...finally got my personal mod pack down to 25 essential mods that I don't like living without.... hopefully some of them will see support one day. (or I'll cheat and make my own private stash...)
Anyway... keep it up man! You have me thinking about rolling a banner that isn't my own for the first time in ages... I'm not sure exactly how I feel about that yet... half of me is like "your pack is discontinued... move on.", and the other half is like " NO HANDBANANA! BAD DOG!" heh

in mcpatcher options, set the horizon to a lower #... not the best solution imo, but it helps. I have that same issue... or the horrible transition from day to night..(instant dark...no transition) it doesn't always happen tho... so vanilla and/or patcher bug?
page get!

been waiting to see someone ask Seradicus that for years...just sayin'....lol
anyway...on topic... I did a few tests with my old pack at higher resolutions, and didn't have any issues with it other than long initial loading times.... but really, anything more than 512x in minecraft is overdoing it. there just isn't a need for that kind of detail in a blocky environment. I guess you could argue that there are a ton of possibilities with ctm and random textures.... but F that... it looks ridiculous.

I'm not being picky... I'm jaded. I have been a part of the texture pack community here on the forums for years. After playing with packs like Ovo's and Misa's and Soartex... and the list goes on... it's hard to accept the packs they are offering as the best they can come up with, considering how high the bar has been set by artists here on the forums that do it for free. I'm even still holding onto the hope that the plastic pack was just them trolling us. Jaded.
just ranting by the way... no hostility towards you intended.

after playing with it for a while it is growing on me...but I still find it lacking after using much higher quality for the resolution packs for the PC.
