    DiamondExcavater, I have an idea. Maybe my IME input patch is conflicting with the input method MacOS has.
    Try replacing "axr.class" (GuiScreen) in the end result of your minecraft.jar with the original file from Vanilla 1.5.2.jar and see if double-press bug goes away.

    Oh yeah, I botched the wolf AI when trying to fix the cubs teleporting bug.


    Replace "ok.class" with the respective client/server file from BTW package, or disable the patch for it in BTWTweak.jar/scripts/tweaks_fixes.js and repatch to make it OK!

    Glad you're enjoying it!

    There are no specific plans for structures, but I do feel that more structures would be great to spice up the bare world.

    No plans about horses either. Yes, shame that Better Than Horses addon was shut down just like most of them. I got the 0.22 version in my archives, but haven't tried it.

    Perhaps later, BTWTweak could be a platform to resurrect mods on, such as Biomes O' Plenty and Better Than Horses.

    As you're modding the game with BTW and have the new launcher, you have to edit the .json file that describes how to load the minecraft.jar anyway. It lists the libraries. Funnily enough, it has some hacks for OSX already. From LWJGL package you want jinput.jar, lwjgl.jar, lwjgl_util.jar and natives for your platform.

    BTWTweak shouldn't visibly affect performance characteristics. I and friends have been playing it even on low-end computers without such issue.


    Just in case, make sure to use LWJGL 2.9.3 or newer, since this is the part responsible for core rendering and input.

    I heard that recent MacOS has tightened security and created a bunch of inconveniences for the users. (As usual, the more inconvenient it is, the more "secure" you should feel!). It seems to request the .jar file to be signed. I don't see it as necessary. Thankfully you also found a way to actually run it.


    Damn, I see you got tripped up by the sloppy patcher interface, to patch minecraft.jar you actually had to press "c". Displaying letters and asking to press a number is silly, will be fixed for the next version of BTWTweak. Although your minecraft.jar had to have BTW installed inside for this to work, and seems it didn't, as you managed to run vanilla and break your world with it. Sorry about that!


    This is exactly why BTWTweak modifies Minecraft main menu, displaying versions of mods in it in the corner. So you wouldn't accidentally load a world in a wrong version. Unfortunately, It's harder to distinguish pure BTW and vanilla at a glance, they both just say "Minecraft 1.5.2".

    If simply running BTWTweak.jar file doesn't work for you, use it from the command line (console, terminal) like so:

    java -jar BTWTweak_0-9k.jar


    And no, MCPatcher can only help you install simple mods that add or replace files. BTWTweak contains its own patcher not compatible with MCPatcher.

    Newer versions of Minecraft don't have anything spectacular of an improvement to be worth the effort doing a full rewrite.

    It's really easier to just backport the useful features.

    As far as 1.5.2 is concerned, these new sound files don't exist.
    Would need to have at least some of:
    - checking in case new Minecraft Launcher has new sound files downloaded
    - downloading new sound files automatically
    - using user-supplied sounds

    So no promises here.

    What's new:



    - Removed BTWTweak stumps as they are now implemented in BTW.


    - Removed termites from mineshafts, logs are now whole again. This change is due to the way stumps are implemented in BTW.


    - Added stump textures for non-oak wood types.


    - Changed pistons to melt down to 2 gold nuggets and 6 iron nuggets to be consistent with reduction in BTW.


    - Allowed normal difficulty for hardcore (permadeath) mode.


    - Allowed easy difficulty to be selected only in the main menu. It is now called "wimpy". Resets to normal after restarting the game.


    - Extended maximum chat line length to 256 characters.


    - Added BTWTweak version to the announcement message when connecting. You don't want to use BTWTweak on non-BTWTweak servers and vice-versa.


    - When disconnecting, the player entity is removed only after 60 ticks (3 seconds). This prevents exploiting initial invulnerability by repeatedly disconnecting and connecting in dangerous situations. Make sure to disconnect only when safe from now on.


    - Changed dynamite to be lit with hold and thrown with release of a button. This makes throwing dynamite more precise and much more fun! This feature is dedicated to the good old Blood 3D game.


    - Dropped support for the old Deco addon.


    - Added support for the new Deco addon, if glass shards are found, they will drop upon the destruction of glass blocks. Similarly, Deco stained glass is breakable like usual glass, both by rocks and by falling upon.


    - Fix Deco error with losing written map item buoyancy and blow distance.


    - Changed achievements around a bit to be technically possible in BTW. Ideally they need an overhaul but that's some future task.


    - Made it so that sneaking would prevent falling from a rope.


    - Added an ability to jump out of vehicles such as boats and minecarts without silly and unpredictable teleportation. This also could lead to
    interesting contraptions with jumping out of a speeding minecart.


    - Fixed small visual error: main menu buttons covering the long BTW version string.


    - Backported ability for buttons to be placed on the top and bottom of the block. Unlike new versions of Minecraft, such buttons are symmetric. Also, the buttons are now placeable on any flat surface, not just full blocks.


    - Added an ability to attach torches, buttons, etc. on backsides of stairs.


    - Fixed (prevented) wolf cubs teleporting to player as they grow up even while sitting.


    - Fixed an exploit with players escaping through the roof of Nether.


    - Attempt to fix stuck glitched ghost fireballs.


    - Fixed and adjusted what blocks are displayed on creative tabs.


    - Added ability to add new tweak scripts without recompiling BTWTweak.


    - Added ability to merge microblocks by placing them together with the others in the following ways:
    - corner + corner = moulding,
    - moulding + moulding = siding,
    - siding + moulding = stairs,
    - stairs + moulding = full block,
    - siding + siding = full block,
    - moulding + siding = stairs.


    - Improved microblock preview to take account for the above change, and display correctly when looking at a side of a snow cover.


    - Added very rare zombie spawn with axes. Beware, they wreck obstacles much faster than regular zombies!


    - Fixed middle-click block picking for wooden microblocks.


    - Fixed swords breaking blocks in creative like in new versions of Minecraft.

    It is caused by a bug. The boat accumulates "fall distance" to fatal levels while bobbing up and down, so make sure not to hit the land vertically. Trying to dock on slabs is the most common scenario of this death.
