Quick question on the stone bricks conundrum. Does it not bother people that they kind of look like cobblestone? Bleh, I wish I could have three stone related textures. Cobble, stone brick and stone brick large as I still think the large brick has it's place. I suppose I could use the chiseled stone...

THIS RESOURCE PACK IS LOVE AND LIFE! I love the vibrancy with the grass in contrast to everything else, and I love the trees... Sugar cane texture seems a little off.. plz fix it (please don't make it that ugly shade of brown)

I have always used the Faithful texture pack, but since I found this one it has overthrown Faithful's long reign and now reigns supreme. I love it and look forward to every update. But I have to agree with AceLeach, I'm not too big of a fan of the Sugar cane texture. I actually have sugar cane in a lot of my builds as decorations and put it near almost all water that isn't being used for farming and what not. I'm not sure if others really mind it though, and by all means I would rather receive new textures for stuff that has not been changed. But maybe when everything is all said and done a variant for sugar cane could be taken into consideration? Also, could we get an update on the diamond shovel texture soon? I carry three main tools and a sword and they all look really nice, but then the shovel mocks me with its appearance and it drives me up the wall.

Thank you for all you've done though, I can't wait till the next update!

Thanks very much guys. Diamond shovel will be in this weeks update. As for sugar cane it will be done either this week or next week. It's an old terrible texture from ye olden days so it was always going to change but I'll up it on my priority list.

Hi, can you please fix a couple of the wool textures please? The cyan texture looks kinda weird compared to the standard cyan color, it looks kinda sea-green. And also the light blue actually looks like it'd be a nice cyan color instead. the light blue should be more of a baby blue shade i think. thanks!

Honestly, sorry, but I'm probably not going to touch wool for a while. I wouldn't mind trying to improve that texture a bit at some point as I've seen other packs do it better in my opinion and want to emulate that. So until then I'm going to leave it be. :(

Very nice work ! I check every week for new updates.

Only one think why I can't use it for regular playiing is what Buffalomoon have posted before :

I know you'll work on that later, it's just for one voice plus! The ores are playable. diorite, granite and andesite are not (in my opinion) (polished version are ok).

Keep up the good work !

    (sorry for my bad english)

Alright. This week I'll change those stones. However it's just going to be the smooth stone texture in different colours. Not very creative but hopefully that'll make it bearable. As for the stonebricks I'm still not sure what I'm going to do but I've decided at least that I'll try to polish the old version (3 by 3 bricks) and see if doing that helps make my mind up.

How would you feel if I edited some of the textures and added random blocks to change the look of some blocks looking repeated, if you understand. It'd only be used for personal use and wouldn't be redistributed at all. Anyways, keep up the great work, it's my favourite texture pack I've seen so far!

Of course! In personal use do whatever the heck you want. If you wanted to you could also upload that. I'd be fine with that so long as it was uploaded as an Add-on pack. Meaning none of the textures in the original pack are in it (although I give you permission to use edited versions) so that people would still have to download both the original texture pack as well as your add-on to use it. In that case I'd also be interested in linking to it from here as well.

But in short. For free use. Go crazy.

    Well poop.

I changed the stone bricks because I liked how it provided a larger, cleaner stone related texture that differentiated itself more from the busy cobblestone texture. I also felt it suited large structures better then the smaller stone bricks. The fact that it was more unique wasn't really a factor for me once I felt that the larger default style would be better suited. Let me mull over that decision a little while longer.

    Quote from BuffaloMoon»

I'm not talking about stone. I'm talking about andesite, dioriate, and all those blocks. They all have the same texture, which makes playing difficult.

That has been on my todo list for quite some time. I haven't gotten around to that yet because for ages I wasn't completely happy with the smooth stone texture. Since that one would influence how andesite, diorite and granite will look I've been putting that off. Now that I am happy with smooth stone I'll be getting to that sooner. However I want to finish fixing the ores first.

    Boom!

Again not that much this week. Will be like this for the next couple of weeks until semesters over for university. The only ore I got to was coal, others will obviously come and I'll be trying to make them more unique. Also gave stonebricks another shot returning to the large bricks style. I didn't get time to do the cracked variant but I think I'll probably tweak stonebricks further anyway.

I clicked on the pack just as you were updating it from 15 to 16. hahaha Really good and consistent updates. Quality not quantity counts and it shows with this pack.

Hahah. Just check that you got the right version. I accidentally updated the content of the original post first before updating the download link.

Hi, once again loving the texture pack still.

Just wanted to suggest another pack that you could look at, i'm not exactly sure which textures. I've been combining this pack with this other one because they have a nice bright design and they look nice.

This one is discontinued i think, but i suggest looking at it for any inspiration it'd give you.

I actually already use that pack for inspiration! Haha, but thanks anyway.

The cobble stone looks almost identical to the stonebricks.

Yea I think i want to try and improve stonebricks a bit more. Not as happy with them as I am with cobblestone.

New week. I've been a bit short on time again with uni starting to get crazy but nevertheless a new week is here. Highlight for this one is the much improved replacement for smooth stone. I am considering making it a little less contrasty but we'll see. I ran out of time to make the ores work with this smooth stone so that'll have to wait till next week I'm afraid. Lapis block got improved obviously and I also changed biome colours a little again. Took some yellow out of some biomes and darkened some others and brightened some more others. Nether brick I'm not sold on. I'm sure I'll go back to it again one day but it's better then nothing. I believe the top texture for it will only appear for 1.8 Minecraft and not previous versions. I think I used the alternating texture feature or something for that.

    As always, enjoy. :)

Can confirm that the glass works perfectly with Optifine.

can also confirm that the glowstone is amazing!

Okay so for the time being I've decided to go with the invisible glass for the CTM support. If I ever add more CTM support I'll rethink the glass. But until then I'll leave it like this as I think it'll keep most people happy. Other things, finally did the trapped chest and, for me at least, the highlight of this week is the animated glowstone. Has a nice subtle twinkling effect that reminds me of christmas lights somehow. Oh and I can't remember who made the suggestion to make wheat less flat, but I've given it a shot and I think it's certainly an improvement, subtle though it may be.

EDIT: Could someone who uses optifine please tell me if the conntected glass textures work for that. I've tested with mcpatcher but I'm not sure if I need to do something else for optifine.

    @Grog

Pls no. With your current glass texture, adding full CTM would mean having a wall of invisible. In smaller uses it's fine, but big windows or glass walls/domes end up just looking like nothing until the last few blocks when you notice "Hey wait there's a slight border there! I can't go through that!"

Invisible glass walls make me a sad cat.

    Pls no.

    ThisIsTheHare, ShadowTitan. Thoughts?

Could do a thinner frame for the inside bits and the current thick frame for the outside using CTM.

Seradicus would you not just disable CTM if you didn't want the invisible window effect?

So basically my suggestion is when you connect two pieces of glass the border gets removed inbetween the two. I actually think the border looks good, but it should disappear when multiple pieces of glass are connected.

    Example: http://prntscr.com/6yh9c5

That's the default texture pack (Which seem so dark and dreary now :P). The single piece of glass has the border all around it, but when you put blocks together the border disappears where they are connected, but still runs along the outside. I reccommend doing something like that.

    Example: http://prntscr.com/6yhejq

This is your texture pack. When blocks are connected the border remains in between them, and I would suggest removing the border that's inbetween the blocks, making it look like one big connected piece. You would making all of this clear: http://prntscr.com/6yhh6x

It's basically glass ctm though it only works for those using optifine/mc patcher.

Alright sweet. I'll have it done for this weeks update. :) Is the texture itself alright though?

love the update, Grog! the signs are great since i use them all over my base! i thought i had some gold tools, but i actually only have a diamond pickaxe and it looks really nice! but yes, the trapped chest! ;) it shouldn't be too hard to duplicate with a different color on the lock.

also, i didn't see a difference in the glass, but i reread your changelog and i believe you were going to add it as an alternate texture? i don't use Optifine or MCPatcher... the acacia planks are a really pretty reddish orange... i actually don't have anything built with that wood, but i might swap out the texture of the garage door (using Carpenter's Blocks) to my potion room. :D

The alt glass texture I've just thrown into the 'alt' folder. You'll have to actually manually unzip the texture pack, place the texture in the alt texture over the normal glass.png texture and rezip it all up again to make it work. It was just my shoddy quick 5 minute fix for those who know how to repackage a texture pack. I need to actually properly redo the glass then if it's a problem.

But I didn't realise it was such a nuisance. Is it the thickness, colour or brightness that's the problem? Actually that question does remind me, I did actually darken the proper glass texture just slightly in the update as I believe it was too bright regardless.

I'm not completely sold on the acacia planks texture, but I am totally happy with the colour. I wanted a really rich redwood for something different.

Finally got on and tried it out. I love this texture pack. Cartoon ish but no overboard. I cant wait for the trap chest to be retextured.

Ah damn, I didn't make time to do it for this weeks update. :( Next week.

As for the update here it be...

Some of these blocks don't tile as well as I'd like so they're not perfect but it's progress. I can go back and refine them for next week.

I love this texture pack, but PLEASE do something about glass!!! The border on it is so annoying, interfering, and you can't make large windows otherwards it looks bad. Sometimes they do look good as dividers, but usually they seem out of place.

Alright I'm adding just a quick thinner version into the 'alts' folder for you in this weeks update but I'd like to revisit the texture properly as I think I see what you mean. If you could, could you tell me of some other texture packs that does glass well? I'll have a look and see if I can't improve it.

i've been playing on Fancy Graphics for the past couple of days now and it doesn't seem to hinder on my frame rate while recording so i'm going to keep it enabled for the time being... i needed to play with Fancy Graphics for another mod that i was playing with because of their 3D textures (otherwise it would look flat without it).

the bamboo texture is quite dark as well... i'm used to seeing it so yellow green/green yellow in a bunch of other resource packs that seeing it in a brownish color in yours is such a contrast! i had a double take when i saw it (because i have quite a large reed farm). perhaps if i had a smaller reed farm or if the reeds were more spread out, it wouldn't have caught me by surprise. other than that, i'm very happy with what you've made! :D

Never fear. The reed/bamboo texture is actually an old on from days of yonder. As is the glowstone and jungle leaves. So it's absolutely going to change. :)
