Hey, firstly on the current state of the 64x pack, it's almost ready. The Github was taken down late last year. and since I've been working on it offline.
Currently, I'm working on the 1.10 update which if everything goes to plan will be realised mid to late September. In a new thread of its own. Even if the pack isn't completely ready I'll be releasing everything so far at that point.
These textures are great, however, the 32x version does not appeal to me whatsoever.
I am currently playing FTB Infinity 1.11.2 for Minecraft 1.7.10.
The 32x version is fully compatible with this mod to my knowledge.
I would however be completely thrilled to see the 64x version (or higher) work with this.
If this is already the case, then I would appreciate a guide on how to apply it (direct links etc).
I actually tried downloading the 64x legacy version but could not find a 64x for the technicians remix,
which is the version that makes it compatible with FTB etc if I am not retarded?
Thanks in advance!
For the past year I've been hard at work on the 64x version of John Smith, slowly the pack is starting to come together and I'm planning on posting it towards the end of this month. It won't be 100% finished but it should be really close. Then once the vanilla pack is finished I plan to start working on textures for some basic but popular mods, but until then you'll have to use the 32x JSTR pack or find another pack that suits you better for modded Minecraft.
Is there any word on a 64x JSTR texture pack or no? What about 128x and higher? Also what is the latest version available for FTB Ultimate?
I haven't done much more on the 64x pack, people don't seem to be that wrapped in it. But 128x will just never happen, its just way too much work when doing textures by hand and as you can see its taken the 64x pack 1.5 years with 2 people working on it to get to the stage its at now.
At the moment I'm doing textures for JSTR, after I'll then get back into working on the 64x pack
And the latest version for FTB Ultimate is Universal JSTR 0.1.0 for Minecraft 1.4.x | Download
Been working on getting some more blocks done for JS:Light 64x, starting with the nether, I also had a crack at doing the zombie! My internet isn't letting me update the packs at the moment so I'll try again later tonight, but here they are.
I have no idea what it wants me to do. I don't see the links on the github. A nice easy non-generic tutorial would be great. I have TortoiseGit setup, though I'm not sure if I did it right.
I haven't used TortoiseGit before but it looks more confusing then the official client which I would recommend getting.
- First Fork the repo
- Then clone it inside your client
- Click on the cog in the top right and open click "open in explorer"
- Now you can add your textures to the pack
- Now back on your git client add a name to your uncommitted changes and then commit the changes
- Now click on Sync in the top right to upload your changes
- Then finally you can go to the master branch in your internet browser and you can create a pull request.
Just wanted to post an update now that we have downloads for the 64x packs on the website. Myself and TitaN65 have been hard at work creating textures for these packs. But please do understand that these packs are still a long way off completion. So it’s recommended to be applied over top of one of the original 32x packs.
Currently there are two packs in progress. The first one is JS:legacy 64x which is an up-scale of the original graphics of John Smith Legacy. The second is JS:Light 64x which is an up-scale of the graphics from the base of the modded pack John Smith Technician's Remix.
As of right now 109 out of 349 block textures and 153 out of 216 item textures have been completed, so there's still lots of work to do. If anyone would like to help by making textures that would be fantastic and would help speed up progress. Textures can be submitted on our git, if you can't work it out how to use github, just post here and someone will help you out.
I'll try to post updates about the pack at major milestones to keep people updated.
I love this texture pack, but I am noticing some default Minecraft textures.
Which pack are you using? if you are using a modded pack then you will need to expect to see default textures, but the ratio of johnsmith to default is getting better and better as time goes on.
Hey everyone! Remember me? I'm still here trying to make the x64 textures for this pack although it's difficult because I have very little time to do so at the moment. I've made a few more textures but they are not finished completely yet, more coming soon !
Good to see you back Titan! I've set up a github for the 64x pack, I haven't completed too many more x64 textures, but I've got a few that are almost finished.
I would guess he got it from the Google drive link at the start of this thread, that is only the vanilla textures, maybe an update to the starting thread would help.
Yeah, having the main post updated with the current links would really help

What mod was it that you wanted textured? If I have the time I might look into it.

JimStoneCraft doesn't work on the JSTR pack,
The best way to give feedback and such for JSTR is by making an issue on the github

Would be good to have this written somewhere in the OP and on the website.
