Oh, I liked the colors =(

As for the noise, I'll see if I can do anything, maybe less dithering. I know dithering shouldn't be used overly much but it looked effective at the time.

Fix the tilings, I can spot a few errors particularly in grass and stones.

Yeah, i might fix the top of the grass to go better with the side grass....ummm I honestly can't spot any tiling issues with the stone.

    Sky, looking GREAT!

There is no feeling like the one you get when you complete a terrain.png
It isn't ready for release though, still need to redo quite a few blocks.

My god sir...you got good at this extremely quick.

Been working on this, don't mind the stone, I'm changing it to chunks and redoing the ores, and I made the stone into sand.

I do want to go out of the way and apologize to Plenty of Fish, but it was seriously bugging me and I guess I freaked out. Nonetheless, I still feel as what I said was correct right and will continue to stand by it. Anyways, I didn't want this to escalate to 15 pages of useless fighting...and...I wish to get back on topic...

Again, sorry to Plenty of Fish, and the whole TAU community.

    This is a good point.
Another thing that might help 6(Alex) is if there was space (at least a pixel) between the bricks-- this would give needed separation between the default ones and a place for moss to grow out of.

    Back to posting updates:

You have no idea how much I've been waiting for this to come out. These are clean and organized textures, very OCD like, while be detailed still. This right here is the few times Ill personally use anything over 16x16. Please, keep going.

    Thoughts?

ps. "thoughts?" has become the one word i have said the most frequentlly

    Obviously there are tiling errors

If you can, try not to reuse the same brick, it'll cause repeating textures that will look funky from far away, Best bet is to mix it up between both of them. Yes, what DMC said, put crack between each brick, and perhaps crack in the stone, and have moss coming from it :D

That dirt is fantastic. Leave it <3

The only thing, I see a slight repeating tiling error on a vertical bit of the dirt. Also a diagonal error on stone

No really, I have. Other than the two week break I just have had, I have texture nearly every single day since late alpha. Want to see my 6gb folder with all my work? This conversation is useless. It's being escalated rather drastically and people are clearly missing the point I'm making. Just continue being whatever and continue the usual TAU conversation.

I would say that discussing art criticism is on topic, so I'm going to post this:

If you think saying "It looked like iron sponge with sprinkles at first (followed by helpful suggestions)" is harsh, you need a serious wake-up call from the real world. Harsh is "what a piece of s**t, you can't make art to save your life". Stating your first impression is helpful, as it allows the artist to understand the viewer's perspective-- even if it's a perspective they don't necessarily like, or want to hear about. If you can't take honestly given criticism, then you need to find something else to do until you grow a backbone.

I just find it useless information. It wasn't necessarily that quote that was harsh, but he has had some harsh ones in the last 20+ pages. And with that Ill stand by what I said. I can take criticism, but criticism isn't criticism if it doesn't pertain in helping out what is wrong or what is right. Ha, I have a backbone, it just doesn't need to be said. I won't continue with this trifle conversation, I know what I said, and will stand by it. Perhaps I should find something different, perhaps, because you know, I've only been texturing nearly every single day, or attempting to, since late Alpha. But it must be true if other agree with my post. I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Then Plenty of Fish. Remove the extraneous and useless information in your criticism posts and to save yourself time and typing strength, so that only your criticism that actually helps the people is used and all is happy. Usually if you have to say "No offense" it's going to be a jerk comment in any way you put it, because if it wasn't, you wouldn't have said that to begin with. Enough for being off topic, but I thought as though I had to say it. I wish not to receive as infraction. You can state the positives and negatives to something without being harsh. It's possible.

Peyton, please make a topic on your texture pack, I want to download it. Because those textures are great.

A bit more progress on Aavernis.
Added default textures so it is playable.

Add a bit more contrast to the cobble stone. Having the exact same color cobble and stone doesn't make much sense. I like the ore designs, but the colors for emerald are a bit...slimish. Overall all the textures are very well executed.

    Erm
His post there really wasn't harsh
    At all

I can understand your examples, but he didn't insult your work here much, if at all. Also, criticism doesn't have to be nice to be constructive. He suggested that you make the gems the same color because there are too many colors and it might look busy, and the gold really isn't shiny enough. These are both legitimate criticisms. Your post may be valid, but I don't think that was the right post to jump at him for.

I never said It was directed towards me whatsoever. I never said necessarily that post was harsh, but it has been bugging me for quite some time now. I didn't quote the other half of what he had to say because the other half was constructive. Comparing Alex's work to something else had no reason to be said. Does comparing his work to Iron sponge with sprinkles give him any insight on what is wrong? Not really. But saying, You should do X, and remove X helps, and is a lot less jerky. Nonetheless, I stay by to what I said, and hope it changes.

It looked like iron sponge with sprinkles at first, I suggest making the gems homochromia (all the same color) Make the gold more shiny and make the border gold.

I don't know about you, but I honestly don't like you. At all. I may sound like a jerk, I don't care. You are relatively rude and inconsiderate and can't use nice words for criticism. You come off as a jerk and think that if it isn't your way, that it is wrong. You can give Alex Alex Alex Alex Alex what needs to be changed without saying "It looked like iron sponge with sprinkles at first" or the post of "Are you F***ing kiddening me", because it was the person's opinion. Or yesterday, "I hate it" Didn't have to say it, say whats wrong without without coming off a jerk. I have also noticed that if anything doesn't have CTM, than it must be crap to you. Seriously, I do not care If I get in trouble for this...but it has been bugging me and it is the honest truth. It needed to be said. Just be nice and give criticism that isn't mean, (which is perfectly possible by the way, it's called constructive criticism) And no, I can take criticism fine, but this is just overboard.

A bit harsh, but seriously...it was bugging the poop out of me.

EXAMPLE OF GOOD CRITICISM : (Quote from SpinBuilder) @alexalexalex...
I love that iron, but the gold could be lots brighter, and have a gold border, perhaps more ornate than the iron one. The gams are a cool idea, though.
