What is Shroomcraft?
Hello, we are Shroomcraft. If you don't know what we are; we are a kit PvP rank up server that encourages intuitive play styles using the newer combat mechnics. In this kind of server, you start as a low rank and rank up through gaining experience from defeating other players in battle. As you rank up you gain access to stronger kits. We have been running for about two and a half years now but we decided to completely change the server. This is so that we can get closer to our main goal. We made this decision when Minecraft 1.9 came out. The new combat mechanics and items opened up new opportunities to make PvP more interesting.
Main Features
Kits
Our new kit system is going to include over 100 different kits to unlock over 40 ranks. There are three categories of kits so far with a forth category under construction:
- Melee kits which are equipped with swords, axes and even hoes. They have heavy armor and often times get shields.
- Archer kits which are equipped with bows and a large variety of arrows. They get less armor though.
- Potion kits which have low armor and weak weapons but are armed with powerful potions to aid them in battle.
- Special kits don’t really fall under the other categories. They usually get special items such as wolves, horses, elytra and even TNT and fireballs! We plan to add these in a later update
There is also going to be various pieces of equipment that can be combined with each kit. Such pieces of equipment include but aren’t limited to: a pickaxe that can break certain blocks, a fishing rod, a flint and steel that can ignite TNT traps, a compass that points in the closest player’s location, or an ender pearl that regenerates after a certain amount of time.
Map
We also have a massive PvP map. It is 200x200 blocks large. It is divided into 4 sections which open and close depending on how many players are online at the time. Each section includes: a section full of buildings near the center of the map, random objects and structures around the edge of the map, simulated envorinments in the corners, an underground section with a unique theme, colorful floating pathways, special item spawners, jump pads and teleporters. There are also secrets ridden throughout the map that will reward players when they find them.
Our spawn is a floating island taken straight from Minecraft Beta 1.6’s old skylands generator. We have modified it to make a nice spawn area for players to explore and cool down after an intense PvP session. There is a spleef arena, a maze, and there will be many obstacle courses which can reward players points; the server’s currency.

Woah dude, like seriously, calm down. During this whole conversation you've done nothing but bash the OP and just ramp up something that doesn't have to be such a hostile conversation.
I personally have full on support on this suggestion. It adds two very unique weapons to the game, that sure, make things easier, but in return add more difficult creatures and mobs to counter it.
I mainly like it because it stays very faithful to the old suggestion gray made back in 2011, and I honestly like it for that reason. Full support.

The spam-clicking required ZERO skill. it was just whoever could get higher ping, and who could click faster. Now it actually requires you to know when to sllice, and you just can't take out hoards of 1000 zombies whenever you feel like it. It's cool I think.

At ShroomCraft, there are five types of staff.
First you've got helpers, their name states what they do. If you have a question, feel free to ask one of them, they will be more than willing to help. They can also stop an issue if one comes up, or contact higher authority in case something pops up.
Then there are a couple of builders. Their main job is to provide you with new fun maps with all sorts of secrets.
Then there are the moderators. Their main job is to keep ShroomCraft in a peaceful condition. They have to focus in on this a lot, so if you have any questions, be sure to ask the helpers first before asking the moderators anything.
Finally, there is the admin, and then there's me, the owner. The admin's job is to develop cool and new things for everybody on the server to enjoy. He's not on very often, but he sure is working hard outside of the Minecraft world! My job is to hire new guys to help me out with the server, to moderate occasionally, and to keep in touch with the community to see what's on their minds. I personally like the idea of this suggestion. =)
Ps: The reason he reposted is because he wanted to make changes, and since MCforum is a pile of **** when it comes to editing things (It's BBL is awful and always corrupts every post you change). Overall, I like the idea, and feel that it should be added into normal vanilla MC, since it doesn't go all freaky and whacky unlike 90% of other suggestions, and still sounds like Minecraft.

The poor poor forum post... cup of water had made it three times, one time re-vamping it, and then the other two times rebuilding it after the BBL bugged out. Unfortunately, Minecraftforum's BBL resets a ton and stuff always gets messed up with it, having lots of dumb stuff happening to it (it getting deleted a lot) and we haven't bothered to re-make it. Instead (no promises) we are thinking of making a cheap little website for the mod and just having a link to it with the video and download link here (for people that are just too lazy to check it out) with maybe even like a little forum and such. I don't know.
We used to have a chart that showed all of the armor statistics, but like I said to the other guy, Minecraftforum's BBL continuously screws up, having us not able to keep anything up for no longer than a month. Now let me answer your question. An unenchanted diamond sword does 7 attack damage, and add that on to your fist, that's 8 attack damage or 4 hearts. full guardian armor protects you by 96% of all attack damage (unenchanted) and you could say that it makes it so you have 250 "Hearts" or you could take 500 attack damage points before you would die (not counting hunger regeneration) so you would die from a diamond sword in 62.5 hits (500/8). I like how in zombie movies, they don't teleport into your home and kill all of your villagers.
Well there WAS emeralds... but that got changed.

Indev: They started out just wanting to walk towards you, if they had you in their 'zone.' They would also burn up in the sun. Me: Okay, that's cool.
Beta, 1.8: Hunger was implemented, same with regenerating health, making zombies easier. Me: Alright, zombies are pretty easy now.
Official Release, 1.0: Enchanting and brewing were added into the game, making zombies really easy. Armor was also OP. Me: Zombies are too easy! Agh!
Official Release, 1.1: They would find the best path possible for getting the player that was in their 'zone.' Armor was also debuffed making monsters harder to kill. Me: Alright, this is awesome, and more hard!
Official Release, 1.3: They would sometimes drop a rare item, which made killing zombies better. Zombies would also break down doors. Enchanting however was buffed making it easier to get OP enchants. Me: Alright, this is cool, I guess.
Official Release, 1.4: Zombies would now sometimes be equipped with iron shovels, iron swords, and would wear all types of armor. Sometimes, it would be enchanted. Me: Alright, THIS balences zombies.
Official Release, 1.6: Zombies now see you as long as their rendered. They also will spawn near each other, making them spawn in your homes and kill all of your villagers ad your AFK person when you go to use the restroom. Me: THEY FREAKING KILLED ZOMBIES AGH! THIS ISN'T HARD, THIS IS DUMB! WHAT ARE THEY THINKING! THEY WERE MAKING THEM BETTER AND BETTER UNTILL THIS! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEIR MINDS?!?!?!? THEY WERE GOOD ENOUGH DURING OFFICIAL RELEASE 1.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
