When playing, be sure to check out the newly installed public mob farms at spawn. Those will be saving people serious time.

Glad I joined. Really enjoying myself, to the point where I might burn myself out again. I thought I might not due to non-essential plugins (more of a vanilla guy myself) and it turns out that it's a blast with how you've set it up currently. The community is great, the map is good and there's a lot of activity. Hopefully this can be confirmed but admins told me this isn't funded by donations currently - purely free to play! Totally changes the way the server is handled. Also, I've gotten lots of help from mods and such. Real active bunch playing right now. And the best part? The numbers keep growing.

Such a breath of fresh air over the last year or so for Survival Multiplayer. Thanks for accepting my application.

    What is your Minecraft username:

    Grave_Sorrow

    How old are you:
    23 years old.

How long have you been playing Minecraft:

Roughly 3 years, give or take a month or two.

    Do you accept our rules:

There's nothing on the rules list that I could ever see myself having a problem with, so yes. I do.

What type of player are you:

I'm not a completionist, "catch all 151 Pokemon" type of deal, that's for sure. But I like to try to be obscure and do different things every time I play. Because of that, I've learned about various parts of the game to its core mechanics - barring redstone. I'd rather learn to be an actual electrician or programmer. Easiest to say I'm a little of everything other than a redstone fanatic.

What can you offer to our community:

I'm someone who tries to blend in and mingle, find my role as I go along I guess. But I've always attempted to help others, be welcoming/inviting to newcomers and step up to the plate when no one else can/will. My biggest asset is understanding vanilla Minecraft and behaving ethically.

    Any questions or clarification:
Is this too long? Lol. Most apps I've written have been long ones, this is short in comparison.

    E-mail address (optional):

Not filling this out on a public forum.

    Referred by another member? (optional):

    Nope, just browsing!

How long have you been playing?: 3 years or so.

Greatest strength in Minecraft?: I consider myself a 'jack of all trades, master of none" type of player.

Why should you be whitelisted?: I believe it's been 3 servers I was involved with for very long periods. I always ended up being the most active player until they shut down. The ones I've joined aside from those 3 were either a wrong fit or did not last, but I was still active and willing to participate with others. Basically I'm a person who commits. (However, I used to play like 6 hours+ a day easily. Now I'm not so sure on that.)

Favorite flavor of ice cream?: Coffee flavored, but I despise coffee just so you know.

Hopefully this is enough to get in.. By the way, I'm not too educated on most plugins; MCMMO, Towny and Eco specifically. I've only played on one server with plugins for more than a week and that simply had a solid set of admins and moderators, LWC and WorldBorder. Not sure if I'll enjoy it but I'm giving it a go.

I think Optifine has a bug when starting up the game, the sound for Minecraft does not work. I am not sure this is true but when testing w/o it, sound was successful at working. But when starting w/ Optifine, 50% of the time would end up w/ no sound.

I believe this happened with pre-5 vanilla for me, so it isn't exactly optifine I think. Probably has to do with Mojang screwing up how files are loaded.

PMed one person but I'd like to address anyone active. This is really ruining the experience.

    All the best,

I actually haven't logged on as I've had problems logging in (ISP/DNS server...? no idea), and forgot afterward. I've got it working now so I'll be hopping on momentarily!

I apologize for not living up to expectations.

Why do you want to join the server? I'm looking for a more active, stable (less laggy) SMP experience.

Have you ever been banned? (If so, why? Be honest) There was a server I joined about 2 years ago? that was relatively new, and I got banned within about 20-30 minutes after applying, being accepted and logging on. I have no idea why I was banned. The server told me to check mcbans and appeal the ban there, which I did along with messaging the owner/admin and posting on their thread. Mcbans has no history of me being banned, nor did I get unbanned. I wasn't planning on playing there again even if I got unbanned. I just wanted to contest any blackmarks against my username.

What's your maturity level on a scale of 10? I'd say an 8 or so. I'm a more serious person in general but with online games I tend to be a bit more focused on playing seriously (MMO efficiency, kind of competitive, etc). The 8 is because I can definitely be a jerk (usually unintentionally, sometimes I'm overly passionate about stuff but I tend to avoid conflicts) and I do like to have a laugh; I'm not stonefaced by any means.

What's your favorite thing about Minecraft? It's a borderline survival MMO with sandbox elements to it that make the experience unique enough to come back after breaks. I'd pretty much be 100% in love with the game if they remade it but with less blockiness and more fantasy with a strong, driven campaign/story/questline.

If accepted, how active would you be? That's completely dependant on a number of factors. If I fit in with the community, it'll help a lot to be active. If I don't, then you'd probably see far less of me (to be polite I'll be sure to say something if this is the case). That's mostly to do with either the gameplay style the server provides or the personalities of everyone and can't be fixed or dealt with, with the latter being very extreme and unlikely. I've also gotta throw in that I'm probably going to be losing a decent portion of my free time soon and you shouldn't expect 6 hour sprees from me. Why I say that is because I used to dedicate 4-6+ hours almost every day on a few really pleasant servers. The chance isn't high that'll happen again but you could say I have committed some time to servers before..

    IGN: Grave_Sorrow

Do you agree to all our rules? (Y/N): Nothing there that's unreasonable, or even questionable, so yes. And for the record, nothing beats a good steak. Unless it's lobster, then maybe I can get on board with you (ME, USA). Just bring me the garlic butter.

Edit: That post looked a lot smaller when I was writing it...

posted a message on "Silent Mode" - No sound in Beta/Alpha Minecraft. Failed to launch sound system/LWJGL OpenAL libraries.
I seem to have resolved the issue (likely temporarily) and I'm getting game sounds in Beta 1.7.3 now. Don't want to bother with other versions right now.

Changed launcher visibility from close on startup to always visible originally and then changed it to hide on launch. Then I deleted my alpha/beta version folders and relaunched twice. Second launch the sound came back (first didn't download/create a version b1.7.3.json file..?). Problem is resolved for now. The issue will likely come back next time I play. I'll try to find a more solid solution or keep an eye on this topic in case anyone knows a fix.

System specs would be nice to have, as well as Minecraft version.

Your processor, your graphics hardware, your operating system, how much RAM you're using. What version of Minecraft, what launch options do you have your profile set to.

    Pictures are fine.

Java 8 is running fine for me.

For some reason, it lists both LWJGL OpenAL version 2.9.0, which is not the most recent version, and a nightly version of 2.9.1. Nightly versions are said to cause these issues, but I'm wondering if it's an issue with the game trying to download incompatible versions of LWJGL (as in trying to cross two different 32bit and 64bit versions).

However, I don't understand the info inside of these .json files or if they're irrelevant and it's just relaying information from the .jar or launcher itself. I was thinking of trying to change any text saying nightly and 2.9.0 to 2.9.1 but I don't know what to put in or if it'd even do anything. The thought I had was that changing these values in the json would cause the launcher to download/use the appropriate LWJGL files.

This was just something I wanted to throw into my thread.
