It just doesn't work with windows 7-64 apparently. I followed your instructions to a T and even installed visual basic 6. It just does not work.
Visual Basic 6 is ancient, dating 1999 and quite possibly last had support around 2003. It was made to work on Win XP and before, so yeah it won't work on Win 7.
get a stone pickaxe quick, get coal, build house, and since I'm still kind of used to the days before beds were implemented I mine at night time, which is a good time for trying to find ore underground anyway.
If halfblocks could be placed on either height on the vertical face of a block, that would be awesome. Would be great for making small wooden walks and stuff.
pigs and cows spawn in bulk, haven't starved to death yet, and it's so easy to just go out and gank them. They also always drop food, instead of being random.
Notch and the crew have been turning out updates every two weeks for the past two years, people complain too much, they don't understand Mojang is one of those companies that excel in updating their game frequently, working hard. In this update we got Aesthetic xp bars, we've got a new npc, better seed generation, NPC villages, massive underground strongholds. And what do people say? they say that the xp bars are pointless, the enderman just looked half assed and stuff and op, that all the old seeds will be gone, that it's hard to find NPC villages, that strongholds only generate once per world (now it's 3 but holy crap people complained too much about it). Last patch we didn't have any of those things, non, so those who complain are complete retards. It's like when people QQ'd because sheep stopped dropping wool, so they couldn't build a bed. Whatever, I bought this game in Alpha where it crashed all the time and when you had to spend the whole 7.5 minutes of nighttime mining underground or something. I wonder what those before me would say, when Minecraft was just placing blocks and stuff.
At least Mojang keep the wheels turning, I can name quite a few video game companies that either ignore their consumers or publish patches every half year or so.
