So I have been seeing this RC2? I was just asking if that was another word for the full release of minecraft or if its something totally different? (me being stupid lol)

It was the name of the release candidate that was "officially leaked" by Mojang. The "leaked" releases were not available for public download - you had to go look for them, so it was only for those of us who really wanted to try the new features and weren't concerned about bugs or losing progress.

The official public release of Minecraft has all the features (and then some) of RC2.

I had this very same problem with the very same 6870 video card some time around when Battlefield 3 came out. I updated to beta 11.10 RC3 drivers to run Battlefield properly, and I was playing so much BF3 I never noticed what happened to minecraft. I tried to start up Minecraft recently and I got this same problem.

I updated the driver (not catalyst, just driver) to the 11.11 Nov 15 release on AMD's website and it fixed the problem. Hopefully this helps.

I have a backup, but I'd like to play in 1.9. I could edit the map to place blocks above all my track, but that would look out of place. :sad.gif:

It's not a custom server, totally vanilla, and that video was taken from a singleplayer test I ran to make sure it wasn't just SMP. 1.9 just completely changed my biomeses.

Oh my poor tracks. Me and my friends are still unsure if we want to switch to 1.9 if our builds are all buried under snow :sad.gif:

Currently snow biomes are MASSIVE, I think it is a bug.

I have run into Snow biomes which took over 30 minutes to fly across.

If this is true then it would explain the problem. If this is fixed in future revisions, no problem. As long as the dev team knows about it.

You sure you didn't spawn in a snow biome that got fixed :tongue.gif:?

A snow biome THAT HUGE? I went out for 1000's of blocks and it was still snowing. Should I make a video of it? I mean...that desert that generated in my world is epic in size already, and the snow blanket was orders of magnitute larger than that giant desert. I kept walking and never found the end of all the snowing.

So I loaded up my 1.8.1 world into a 1.9 server, and once I loaded it up all the water started freezing over....Odd I thought. Checked around and all the 1.9 stuff was generating (Testificates, biome colors, water dripping, etc). But the entire world was freezing over. And then weather happened....and the entire planet got covered in snow! Crops destroyed! Minecart tracks overwritten! NUCLEAR WINTER.

Everywhere I went, all biomes, giant deserts, huge oceans, all swamps got completely blanketed in snow. 100% of the world.

I figured maybe this was some kind of artifact from me using MCEDIT to delete the nether to regenerate it with strongholds. So I loaded up a backup on 1.8.1 server...everything's fine. No global icing over. I went into single player 1.9 just as a control and loaded up the world.... NUCLEAR WINTER AGAIN!

Is anyone else encountering this bug? I wanna make sure they get to the bottom of this bug so that I can use my world in 1.9 proper.
