First of all, Ostriches are not native to Australia, nor is there any wild ones. You are thinking of Emus. Secondly, they do not have teeth.
Last of all, none of this would fit into minecraft.
Edit: Red tinted grass? You realise that the red stuff is sand/dirt and that the little grass that is in "The Outback" is yellowish.
Actually, it kind of would.
Here are my ideal "rare mob drops".
Zombies: Chain mail armor.
Skeletons: Same as now.
Spiders: Fermented spider eyes.
Creepers. TNT.
Endermen: Obsidian.
Silverfish: Raw fish.
Wolves/Hounds: Bones.
Ocelots: Cocoa beans.
Cats: Milk.
Iron golems: Pumpkin seeds.
Zombie Pigmen: Same as now.
Ghasts/Blazes: Fire charges.
Magma Cubes: Slimeballs on tiny death.
Slimes: Magma cream on big death.
While I can see where you are coming from, some of these make no sense:
Spiders: Their eyes are being fermented while still inside their head?
Silver fish: They are insects.
Cats: How does a cat have a bucket, it would make sense if it was a raw fish.
Slimes: They have no fire-like aspect to them as is.
First of all, Sgt_Jackson please refrain from spamming - it makes you look desperate and shines the server in a negative light.
Secondly if you really want people to join your "hardcore pvp server" you should try to make it different somehow.
One possible idea is to have multiworld and have a sky islands region - that would be extremely fun to try to assert dominance over your own island and defend it from invaders.
Also try to be careful on what plugins you put onto this server, I'd hate to see it crash and burn - as I'm sure you have experienced before.
A great server prior to the 1.1 upgrade, and those issues are hardly his fault.
But the issues are:
All land was unclaimed
Some peoples inventories were cleared
If poisoned you are disconnected with an internal server error unable to log back on due to still being poisoned.
If these issues (which are most likely bukkits fault) are fixed this server is definately worth looking into!
I was under the impression that the ladders were CHANGED not fixed. The collision box was NOT A BUG. It was removed due to sometimes when trying to break a ladder you would hit the block behind it instead, it wasn't that the collision mask was a bug (how the hell does a bug add a collision mask anyway) but rather it was removed to fix ANOTHER BUG.
Sorry for capitalising some words but so many people tend to ignore the point of a post.
I think its MUCH better if they're always hostile, because without this feature, the Nether is half as dangerous as the Overworld at night. I'm really happy that they've added this feature in, whether its a bug or not, and I have high hopes that it is kept. :biggrin.gif:
If you're trying to build in the Nether, use creative mode. Enemies SHOULDN'T be attacking you on sight anywhere in creative mode, and there really is no point in trying to build pretty things like houses or castles in the Nether in survival mode.

First of all, your opinion is not fact.
While I agree that the nether needs to be harder, the pigmen always being hostile is simply seems like an annoyance to me because:
1) They atack in large numbers
2) They pretty much use the zombie style of atacking (i.e. run at you until someone dies)
3) They spawn at any light level.
4) They don't even do all that much damage.
It's a lot like having an enemy that no matter what you do, you can fortify your home against it, will respawn every time you leave your home and pokes you for minimal damage if you happen to be idiot enough to walk right into it (because really, its so easy to fight pigmen without ever getting hit).
Also, people like to build in the nether because they like the extra challenge. Ghasts make building in the nether so much more difficult than building in the overworld.
The hostile pigmen probly isn't intended anyway, like others have stated its likely that the code for their AI was broken somehow or is being tweaked and they have had their AI just substituted for a zombies.
Gotcha. Still a little confused, but I need to brush up on redstone anyway. Thanks! I'll add this explanation to your contribution.
Unfortunately I'm stuck on a laptop so I can't make a video tutorial, if anyone wants I can go on a multiplayer server to teach someone so they can make the tutorial for me.
The trick is to have the flaming minecart on a fence or halfslab, I used a fence since it makes the wiring a lot easier, if you don't use a block with a half or one and a half hitbox then you get the effect of the flames going too far up the cauldron.
The second image of the wiring was just with a block and the minecart removed.

My Full Iron with protection II on it still makes me a god though......
While I think armour needs to be a bit weaker, please don't go calling people who disagree names, it only hurts your cause.

I could say, get a bunch of friends, all host servers and all ban one guy - and then he can't go onto any multiplayer servers at all.
This would be a stupid, unfair and unregulated system that could never work in a fair manner.
