Millénaire 6.2 for Minecraft 1.12 available!
Millénaire is now officially updated to 1.12.2. Download the new version on www.millenaire.org!
Millénaire is a single- and multi-player mod for Minecraft. It aims to fill the "emptyness" of single-player worlds by adding NPC villages to it, with loose 11th-century Norman, North Indian and Mayans themes and additional cultures planned.
Villages are populated with men, women and children of various kinds, who perform tasks such as trading with the player, expending current buildings or improving existing ones, cultivating crops such as wheat in Norman villages and rice in Indian ones, crafting tools and powerful amulets, etc. As the village expends, the number of villagers increases as couples have children who grow up into new adults.
Help villages grow by trading with them and be rewarded with unique items such as Normand and Indian food or statues and tapestries to decorate your house with. And if they start liking you enough, they might even build you a house of your own.
Millénaire is available in the following languages: French, English, German, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Dutch, Portuguese, Slovenian, Hungarian, Chinese, Arab, Estonian, Norwegian, Ukrainian (more coming!)

Making new cultures
Since Millénaire 1.4, the bulk of a new culture can be made without code (not just buildings and village types like before, but new NPCs as well). As such I'm interested in player-made cultures to integrate in the main game, provided they fit the general theme of Millénaire of "real" cultures from around the 11th century. Players interested in producing one for Millénaire should PM-me about it. If we agree on the idea, I'll provide support in the form of help on how to mod Millénaire and in the form of whatever new code might be needed (for new items, blocks or good productions), though likely not with the buildings and NPCs themselves. I reserve the right to change anything I might not like in a culture I'm shipping with the mod itself, but in practice I intend to leave as much of a free hand as possible to culture designers.Contribution welcome, it helps make Millénaire a rich game!
See what they are doing and what they need in the villages' centres.
Help Wanted
- There is a lot of content to fill up in the Millénaire Wiki, feel free to help: http://millenaire.org/wiki/
- Female and children sounds
- It would be very useful if people who have been playing for a while could post detailed accounts of how they play Millénaire, what they like/don't like, what their goals are when playing, etc. I need more comprehensive feedback, not just small reactions to individual features.
- New lone buildings: the more different kind of lone buildings (or variations of the same kind), the better. People wanting to do lone buildings in the same style as the existing ones are welcomed. You can post your creation in the thread, preferably with a screenshot. I'll add those I think fit in Millénaire.
Trade with them, to help their villages grow and gain unique blocks, foods and items.

(The following text has been written by the server Admin, GlitchKing. Any ‘I’ or ‘me’ is referring to him. Also GlitchKing plays the most evil character in the story; don’t get on his bad side.)
What is Roleplay?
Really, if you already know all this you can just skip this paragraph. Ok, so, Roleplay, Roleplay is where you as the player take on the role of a character. You create a name, your characters life story and their personality, basically everything. Then, you play as that character on the server. Really, it’s quite fun... For me anyway. If you need any help with this just talk to our admins.
What is Hamatria Lines?
Well, there are tons of RP servers out there but we aren’t one that is just accepting anybody. We have a whitelist and you will have to get to a high enough standard to be accepted onto this server. If you don’t reach the standard we’re not going to say: THIS IS CRAP: DENIED (unless it REALLY deserves it.) We’ll give you hints on what to add to it to make it better. This is a roleplay server that is enforcing roleplay so if you’re online 90% of the time you will be role playing (unless you’ve got some crap time zone like me where you miss the busy times.)
Also, this server isn’t just saying: “Vanilla Server plus some Roleplay.” This is roleplay so you have to think like the server is real life. So:
• If you aren’t a trained Blacksmith, would you really know how to make iron? No, you wouldn’t and don’t say “Bu, I can, ma character knows all dis stuff!” because you’ll probably just annoy the admins. This applies for all professions. Also, nobody except the admins will have magical powers as this will just get annoying: (All spelling mistakes here are deliberate as to try and make the character more real.)
Person One: “Oi! You! C’mere! Ya’s just got ‘urself a hefty fine!
Person Two: “What? No! I didn’t do anything!”
Person One: “You think I had no education?”
Person Two: “Okay! But you’ll never catch me!”
Person One: “Oh! This ain’t good! He flew away!”
See? That is just crap. Real crap. (Except for Person One’s accent that would be nice to have people on the server that talk like that.)
• You have to talk like it’s real life so no: “Ok, lol he died, I’ll go fetch a spade, Brb.” None of this. None. We do have Hero Chat on though so you can use ‘/ch l’ for RP talk and ‘/ch g’ for all that other crap. More like your character would in real life.
• Everybody that comes to the town has nothing. Not a thing (except maybe knowledge). So, if you had nothing, would you be able to afford a house? No. You can live in the slums. Yes, we have slums. And we tried our hardest to make them crap. The only way to leave the slums is to buy a house, right? But you have nothing so what can you buy it with? Get a job, earn money. If there are no jobs available? Maybe rob somebody (you must ask an admin before doing this.) Can’t rob anyone? Does your character dislike that thought? Your probably only way out is to join the dark side. Can’t do that? Live in the slums.
• The server is what you might call ‘evolving’. This means that it is slowly discovering new materials for different uses. So far there isn’t much discovered. We have no clue what gold, iron or redstone is. The only way things like this can be discovered is to bring it to the Research Institute. Here we investigate items that people have bought in and try and uncover what they are. This is how we ‘evolve’ and get more additions to what we can use. I am the head of the Research Institute
IC jobs Available around Town:
* Must be written into back-story.
~Will be offered by an admin only. (All jobs must be accepted by an admin but the jobs with ~ can only be given by an admin.)
Blacksmith owner and Crafting Hall owner*:
This job is profitless but maybe later we might allow people to buy furnaces for an amount of time before somebody gets a repo team to take it back. (Has anybody seen that show?? I love that show.)
The building next to the Blacksmith is the crafting hall which contains crafting benches. This is also a free service.
Vaults man:
This person owns the only building that contains ‘private chests’ (ONLY inside his shop). He can rent out ‘vaults’ for a price and people can store their valuables in there safely. This may also be a profitable job.
Research Institute Worker~:
This person helps me uncover different objects. Anything of value that isn’t in the Research Museum hasn’t been discovered yet and anybody found using the undiscovered items will be fined.
Miner*:
There may be many of these. If you are a simple man then you probably won’t be able to identify ores and things so you cannot mine.
Sentry/Town Guard:
This job won’t be much of a big deal at first but if we start getting attacked by giant obsidian monsters we may need a professional.
Knight*:
Basically the same as a guard but this must be in the back-story.
Town Mayor~:
This person is obviously very important but the admins will be choosing who gets this based on your RP skills and character.
Priest*~:
This character will own the church, once we get one, and they will probably have more authority than anybody. There may be up to 3 priests but the first priest may not want that and have to get somebody to ‘discourage’ them.
Farmers:
This would be an easy way to escape the slums. Though would anybody want to accept wheat from somebody that lives in a pile of ****?
Real Estate~:
This person would become very rich very quickly. They own all the houses until they are bought. Once you buy a house you cannot sell it. Only give it back to this person for free and then find a new home.
Motel Owner:
The local motel isn’t a place you’d want to live in for long. It lives up to its name ‘Thou Mouldy’ as it has mould growing everywhere on its dull walls. This wouldn’t be a great job but you may make a low amount of money.
Korland’s Minions~:
This is a dangerous role. You must stay very secret and always stay loyal… or not. This may be a last chance to get away from the slums or it may be optional…
Fisherman:
Pretty self-explanatory.
Lumberjack:
For those with a love of trees.
Staff Positions:
At the moment there are only a few admins which are:
Quarry88 – Cool guy that hosts the Server.
Addington – Guy with a ton of ideas.
GlitchKing – Guy that takes a lot of credit for all the stuff happening around here.
In the future we may be looking for more admins or some mods to help us out but for now, don’t ask.
Server Lore:
Here is the Lore. It will be added to as the server progresses. None of your characters will know this unless the admins start shoving bits of it into the RP. And believe me that will happen. Tho find the entire Lore go look in the Lore area.
Chapter I – Three Creations
Once there was nothing, no light, no dark, no good, no bad. The only thing in that did exist was an idea. The idea was that there was nothing. ‘The Idea’ was strong though since it was so pure and true, although it could not do anything with its power as it had no physical form. Instead it thought a way to create a form from which it could live.
Eventually it had decided on what the physical object would be: A man. The man was strong and wise and in many ways similar to 'The Idea'. The man was created but could do nothing as there was nothing else but him so 'The Idea' created a planet on which the man could walk.
The man loved the planet but decided it was empty so he asked 'The Idea' to create more. 'The Idea' created animals, plants, trees, oceans and islands. The Man was now happy with the world but he knew it was still missing one thing: People.
Once again the Man asked 'The Idea' for more additions to the world so the future people could live. 'The Idea' created the clouds, the sun, the moon, the stars, the night and the day. The planet was now habitable for people. Finally, the Man asked 'The Idea' for people to walk upon the world but it was too late. With all the amazing things 'The Idea' had made 'The Idea' was no longer pure and true. Now there wasn't emptiness there was light and dark, good and ... bad. 'The Idea' gave the Man his wish for people but could only make a total of two more people. As 'The Idea' only knew of one design of person he made another, equal in strength and power to the first man.
The Man knew that he could no longer keep calling himself 'The Man' as having three men would just make be confusing. The Man decided on a name: Hadra. The new men also decided on names as well: Korland and Addington. They all had been given different powers: Hadra, The god of the over world, Addington, The god of Nature and then there was Korland who really just liked fire. Korland was amazed at all the things that had been left for Hadra and Addington and was jealous that he couldn't have the same. He tried to rob Hadra of his planet but he failed badly. He decided that with his love of fire and destruction he’d go rule his own domain. He built a special portal in which he could use to jump from one dimension to another. The dimension in which he now lived was called: The Nether. All this time in which this had happened Addington had just watched lazily from the sidelines. He was the neutral god, attempting to keep the peace between Hadra and Korland.
Chapter II – Backwards from the Start
Over a few million years the three men stayed apart. Hadra, being lonely while Korland living in his hellish kingdom. Hadra was always lonely until one day he met a man. He couldn’t understand who it was as he couldn’t sense any power that his god like brothers radiated. The man instead was just a normal person. The truth was that over millions of years, Addington had used his powers to grow a small amount of people. He then set them free into the world knowing that they’d either join Korland or Hadra. At one point a human found the nether portal in which Korland had got to the Nether through. The human convinced Korland of the new world that the human now lived in. Korland thought he could make a good little army out of these pathetic people so he dashed back into the real world only to find that it was a trick. Hadra was waiting there and crushed the portal with his mighty powers. Korland was now stuck in the real world in which he lost many of his powers.
The people grew and became strong. They build villages and houses and grew melons and wheat. Korland was not happy, he sought to make Hadra pay. Korland started his first steps to re-gaining the Nether. He killed off entire villages to try and find some obsidian for the passage. He didn’t find much. He kept searching, killing off villages, until almost no villages were left. All the humans had heard of a village named ‘Piety’ which was said to protected by a god. Nobody actually knew who the god was but it was enough to encourage everybody to try and go there. Meanwhile Korland had set up a small base somewhere in the town. He knew that a few people might follow him to the glory of reaching the Nether.
Server Rules:
There are quite a few of these to follow and if you break them you’ll be sorry (especially if the rules are based on my character...).
1. Please follow any advice given to you by an admin.
2. Do not build without permission from either: Quarry88, Addington or GlitchKing. Also if you’d read the stuff above you’d realize that the only people that would be able to build (that aren’t admins) are builders. Like actual workers.
3. No nether portals. Only the evilest characters can build these with permission from me. Also if I find one that was made without permission, your house is now a crater.
4. Remember to use the ‘/ch g’ command for things OOC. And the ‘/ch l’ command for RP chat.
5. Do NOT Meta game. (Meta gaming is where you take knowledge that is OOC (Out of character) and pretending you know it in the game. For example: “I read the Lore so I know that Korland is the evil guy and Addington is the other guy. I’ll just go spread the news around the village.” At first you will notice that Korland actually seems pretty normal. That’s because his in hiding. Your character just ‘guessing’ that he is evil is just stupid. That is like walking down the street and seeing somebody and then you run up to them tackle them and say: “You were responsible for 9/11!!!” NO. That is not happening.)
6. No furnaces, workbenches, or chests with lockette signs on them. All these are available somewhere else in the town.
7. If we do give you the o
Whitelist Application:
To get on this server you’ll have to fill out this. Please do it to the best of your ability (that’s if you intend on joining, if you’ve made it this far you probably are). Remember that your character has to come from one of the towns that have been attacked. Make one up if you like. Remember nobody saw Korland and you escaped with nothing except maybe some clothes. (OOC = Out of Character, IC = In Character.) We are only going to have a few black smiths and shop keeps so think that what you choose is what you get. If you get in early there is a high chance there will be.
