MC Day 10867: Have finally got round to adding a proper "top" to my glass tower I built at my first base around 3 years ago. It features a daylight sensor controlled lava flow system which cascades down the inside of the tower at night and lights the column. Which is kinda ironic now it looks like a large match!

I have been playing several of your maps lately, and they are some of the best quality maps I've ever played. The amount of detail, the well-done areas, and the both entertaining and raging gameplay add up to some of the best series of ctm maps. Keep up the great work!

I may have had a worse portal location.
There were no nether fortresses around for about 300 blocks either.

Well, I finally have a time for a new and bigger update in my world, so I will start where I left off. After my short exploration and cliff-diving trip, I went into the nether and scouted out the nearest nether fortress. I dug a tunnel to it, so now my nether hub and a fortress are connected. My tunnel's descent goes straight into a blaze spawner, and so I thought it would be perfect to lay the first step in making a blaze XP farm. I needed to obstruct the spawner with a 9x9x3 solid cube. I brought along two fire resistance potions, which is equal to 16 minutes of fire resistance. By the way, I was able to knock a ghast's fireball back to it. I got the achievement.

-
I think return to sender is by far the most fun achievement to try and get. I began obstructing the blaze spawner. The blazes must have known what I was doing, because they were spawning like crazy and they were angry. Thank goodness I brought my shield. I think shields were some of the best additions to the game.
-
-
-
-
Finally! That was a bit tedious. But those blazes got wrecked by my amazing bow skills.
-
-
I also enchanted another pick. And I got the same. Exact. Enchantment. As my last two pick enchants. Oh well. It is a good enchantment.
-
-
I went with my horse in the nether to test some tunnels, and horses don't do well in nether portals. My horse lost 8 hearts. I fed him lots of wheat.

It was time to make animal pens. I made 4 of them with cobblestone walls next to my crop farm. These farms are temporary. The pens are for Cows, Sheep, Pigs, and Rabbits. The chickens will be processed in another facility.
-
-
I then dug a hole in the ground where I will put my chicken area. One processor will produce eggs while the other will produce meat.
-
-
-
Egg farm done!
I made just a simple wall design for the other side.
-
-
Come! To your new home where about 50 of you will occupy the same block!
-
-
-
The finished product! I will have to keep adding chickens so the production rates are higher.

One of my favorite pastimes is night hunting with my awesome bow:

For some reason I love this area. It is right behind my house and it would be so much fun to build on:
-
-
It was time for an afk fish farm. I wanted to use a new design that uses mending on the fishing rod. Since you gain xp from fishing, the rod will never run out. Usually, it will stay at max durability. I went to the local village and traded with the villager with an epic mending trade.
-
-
I quickly did the redstone part, and it works well.
-
-
I then decided to build a little house around it. I am experimenting with house designs and I wanted this one to be a light-colored/birch house.

Well, that's it for now, folks! I am almost up to date in my world now. Another update coming soon. I can't always play very often in my minecraft world. I am very busy IRL and only have a few hours a day to be on. Most of it is spent on other things though.
Well, I hope you all enjoyed reading today's update.
1
Well, I'm back. I should have done this update weeks ago. All this I am posting now literally happened 3-4 weeks ago. But anyways, this is kinda a smaller update in my world. So I decided to do another short strip mining trip. I mined out only three 100 block long tunnels. I mined all the ore with silk touch, and I decided to pile up what I got.
-
-
I used my fortune pick to mine it all, and I put it in my main mining chest. Since I am still basically a noob (Advanced noob), I and very proud of my resource chest. It is the most I have gathered in a survival world and in a short amount of time. It may not seem like much to most people, but to me it is.

My diamond supply is running real low. I will need to do another big mining trip to get at least 3 stacks of diamonds.
I decided to do some exploring. I headed up the coast of the nearby ocean in the direction of the jungle. I soon stumbled upon this.
-
The temple didn't have very good loot, and I kept going. I soon stumbled upon some awesome mountains.
-
-
It would be cool to build maybe a giant fortress on that with a cliffside fishing village or something like that.
Now this is a view and a half.
-
-
Much larger update coming soon!

Okay, you win.

Well, minecraft finally works for me again, since I upgraded to Windows 10 It would never even launch. I ended up downgrading back to windows 7. Oh well.
Today I decided to start mapping my world. I crafted some maps and walked around the area, filling out the maps. I now have a 9x9 map display at default map zoom.
I decided it was time for a small exploration trip to find some cool places and possibly some structures. I set off and began working my way through the jungle. Man, they can be hard to maneuver at times when you don't have ender pearls or an elytra.
Before I knew it, I came to a fairly large village just outside the jungle.
Some cool scenery.
The village:
I went around checking out some of the villagers' trades. My jaw dropped when I came upon a librarian with an EXCELLENT trade.
I made sure to lock him up for when I make a trading hall in the future.
Mending for 16 emeralds! A really good trade.
|
He should be safe in there.
I continued looking at trades around the village, and I checked another librarian. I gasped in amazement when I saw his enchantment book trade.
MENDING FOR 14 EMERALDS.
I locked this guy up nice and secure. He is going to come in handy in the near future. Has anyone found a better mending trade? Because this is the lowest I have seen and heard of.
While I was traveling back home, I jumped down a small ledge (5 blocks) and took some fall damage, no big deal, right? Well, when I did, I was suddenly catapulted 8-10 blocks horizontally a few blocks above the ground. I don't know If it was a cool feature where you can jump far after taking damage, a cool bug, or a skeleton shooting me from behind. I was sprinting, which might have played a part in it.
Anyways, today was a pretty good, yet short, playing session.

Oh, just put them on item frames. You can also connect 9 maps in the crafting grid to make a more zoomed map. Item frames are how people make the big map walls. Very simple.

OMG, I just realized that this post is the 5000th post on this thread!!!!!
Celebrate by throwing all your diamonds into lavaJk, please don't do that. But please, I ask all of you to make a cake in your survival world and eat it.2
Well, new update, I have been making progress on my slime farm, and I killed my first enderman. I am gonna go to the end once I have enough ender pearls for the portal. I am not specifically hunting for endermen, I just kill them as they come by. I mined out quite a bit in the slime farm, so here are some pics:
Here is a view of my base from the slime farm:
I decided to enchant a new pick, and I was happy to get prime enchantments on a silk touch pick.
I will keep updating as I go.

When I was a stupid noob 4 years ago, I would delete my world if I did the following: Die, Drop a pickaxe into lava, See a monster chasing me, get lost and lose my 2x3 wood hut, or not being able to find coal. I also had an extreme case of "Scarcity Mentality" In which I thought it was so hard to get things that would actually be really easy to get. Diamonds were only dreams for me. I am definitely out of this by now, 4 years is a lot.
