This is a sad day in Minecraft's history. A game that was part of a great indie development team, who were selfless and fun, and had changed Minecraft into what it is now alongside the great community, just sold that amazing game to the cheapest and most selfish company there is right now (apart from Ubisoft and EA, of course). There's no telling what these DLC-crazy, community-ignoring, money-focused people will do to our beloved sandbox. It is my prediction that they will turn Minecraft into something that no one will really want, but only buy because other people have it. The kind of game with fifty super-expensive DLC packs and dubstep out the ears. Even though they aren't killing any platform support, they are going to drive away some of the players. Now, I could be wrong, and I sincerely hope that I am, and Microsoft could turn Minecraft into something better, with even more possibilities than we have now, and holding true to what the game is about, rather than using this giant for their own selfish reasons. Maybe this day will actually be a positive milestone when looked back upon, as a day of glory when Minecraft became a thing of worldwide greatness held by an international power. But as for now, given my views and experience with Microsoft, I have my doubts.
Notch may have said he didn't know how to handle the community, that he wasn't "a real developer," but the truth is, he was pretty good at what he did. He made some awesome stuff and did some awesome things, and I'll miss his input and whimsy. He may not have wanted to be a symbol, but he was the best symbol there was. His importance wasn't about him representing a struggle, it was that he struggled. That's what made him interesting. That this great figure who created one of the best games around was just as human as any of us. He didn't represent transcendence, rather, it was just humanity, and creativity, and a bit of luck. Whatever he does when he leaves Mojang, Notch will do it well.
So, I wish good luck upon the Minecraft game, its community, and its creators. They were what created a harmony that was what this was, Minecraft. I'm happy ever having been a part of it, and I hope this transition into darkness and uncertainty will let us grow, rather than kill our cares and our hopes and our dreams. Let it be great. Our fate rests with you, Microsoft. Use your power and money for good. Don't let us down.

Dec 15, 2013Flamedude166 posted a message on Saturday with Sach: Whats In a NameAh, yes. The process of choosing a name. Mine was one more of symbolism. My sign, Aries, is linked to the element of Fire, and as it happens, in Greek mythology, is also the god of war (even if it is more commonly spelled "Ares."). Fire, as a name, was too simple, but Flame stuck well as an abbreviation for the name, and most people call me that in chat, and such. So, came the part where it needed more to it. I extended it with "dude" to sort of make it roll off the tongue, and to make it seem like I was more the sort of person you'd want to be a friend of. The "166" part is where I draw a blank. It was one of those random numbers I just stuck on there for the username effect. Although, occasionally, it comes back as a good thing, and sometimes a bad thing. When it comes to Minecraft, however, it is so far, neither, since there is not yet an Item 166.Posted in: News
And it all just fell into place. Keep in mind that I've been playing games quite a bit longer than I've had an online identity. It is just that in previous online games or sites, my name was quite a bit different, so much that you'd never have known it was me, and back then I didn't have the mental capacity to take on such a task as creating an username that will identify me well (although, to be fair, I was about 10, or so, years old when I got into gaming.). Other times, people have stolen my name (Why would anyone do that?), and as a result, "dude" can be replaced with "bomb" resulting in Flamebomb166. Sometimes, even, sites may disallow numbers in names, and the "166" just kind of falls off.
That's everything good I can think of about what my name is, and how it came to be, but like everything, it has it's downsides. Some people assume that the name Flame makes me quarrelsome, derived from the internet term "flame war." However, I am probably the least likely person you will see starting or participating in a "flame war." I find such a combat of words useless, as whenever you insult the other person as much as you can with only the words you can spell, it merely bounces off of them like nothing at all, but somehow causes them to do the same to you. Since you can't punch them in the face, why bother? So, I just ignore anyone who wants to fight me in such a way. If you want to fight, save it for the online arenas. That's what I say.
I hope you've enjoyed hearing how my great name was put together. It truly is a masterpiece of my own mind. -

So, I'd like to know. What's a Dupe plank? Unless that's a spelling error, but of what? - To post a comment, please login.

♦ In-game name: Flamedude166
♦ Age (we wont judge): 15 years, 16 in a mere two weeks.
♦ Number of online servers you have played: Too many to count, really. Some are fun, some are not. This one brings a lot to the table, in terms of features.
♦ Have you ever played on a prison-based server? If so, specify.: Nope. Never understood why people would choose to be prisoners, but the guards and warden, however, have it made.
♦ Do you have any past experiences as a staff member on a MC server?(specify position/server): Yes, of course.
Ro-Craftia (previously Roroy's Server) I am the Malcodian Mega Mod, highest position, second only to the owner, himself.
[I forget the name of this one] I am the Great Admin, pretty much the vice head Admin, or whatever you want to call it. Third highest position, but can't go higher.
[Then there's my own server, of which I am Owner, but I don't think that counts.]
♦ Explain why you feel we should pick you as a sorcerer or guard. What values would you be able to bring to our server and team?: I have a wide knowledge of commands and their uses; very little teaching would be necessary, except for unique commands you might have, and I'm flexible with uses of unique commands and command sets. Also, I'm great at dealing with troublemakers and bullies and such. Not to mention, I'm easy to contact, through Skype, Mumble, Steam, or GMail, all but one of which contain a pop-up. (As long as I know you're trying to contact me, I can respond.) If you need a character role (say, guard), I can easily fill that (guards on patrol). I also know you are creating things such as quests and custom weapons on the server, with which I am quite creative.
Also, I am not power crazy (like some, who may abuse their powers). I also use sufficient grammar, spelling, and punctuation (surely, you don't want your chat filled with nonsense). I can outsmart and out-power any opponent, as I know my way around the commands as mentioned earlier. I know a few things about software (but not particularly Minecraft server software, especially with custom mods), so I can offer some assistance to certain computer issues. I am quite well-rounded in many skills, so I can help with what needs help, and in many subjects, so don't think I don't know what you may be talking about (unless otherwise stated).
Send me a PM if you need contact information, such as Skype, Mumble, GMail, or Steam.

(Maybe also tell me how to remove the Lava and burn effects, so I'm not confused when making my Lava Mazes, or I just feel like being the Fire Gem that I am)
And, this is just a suggestion, but it would be kinda cool. If you fall off a high cliff, and the mod somehow knows that the fall will kill you, it'll do a slow mo effect for a couple seconds right after you start falling, then speed up as you fall. Maybe sometimes have the effect when the fall will just barely leave you alive, too, for suspenseful purposes.

Flame's Might: Red hilt, Obsidian gem, always found with Fire Aspect II, and Knockback II, and a chance of Sharpness, Smite, or Bane of Arthropods, at III, IV, or V.
This idea still has my full support. If axes support is added to this excellent idea, since they can be used as weapons, and you decide to support a weapon of mine for Legendary Swords (or Legendary Axes), this is my trusty Axe, which I generally use more.
Bane of Flame: Red hilt, Obsidian gem, always found with Fire Aspect III, and Sharpness III, IV, or V, and either Knockback or Looting, at I or II.

Just needs one more thing, and that's a thing to name the fireworks (so you can organize them easily and pick the right one. Shouldn't cost experience like an anvil, though.).
Possibly, you could even make a second stand, or a launcher, rather, that will launch the fireworks in a particular order, and with a certain delay between each launching, kind of like a dispenser, except you're sure which order they'll be fired in, and when they will be fired. It should require a constant redstone signal, and if the signal is lost during a fireworks show, it resets to the first slot with a firework in it, and when powered again, continues from that one. Just an idea, so I can contribute a bit, atleast.
Anyway, you've got my 100% support.

So, I thought about how someone who's body is made of fire could survive in rain and water, but not lava. To make things more interesting, a want someone to make a mod where these attributes are switched. If I were to jump in lava, or get set on "fire," I don't take damage, but instead become empowered, getting Regeneration 2 and Speed 2, and while also in lava, Resistance 2 as well. As a bonus, while on fire I will not have the fire animation in my first-person view, but instead everything in my view will have an red or orangish tinge of color. The effects would be an 8 second loop kind of effect gain, like beacons. And the same goes in opposite, if I jump in water, or I am vulnerable to the rain, I will make a sizzling sound, and would take damage rapidly, as the normal person on fire would, plus becoming weakened, gaining Weakness 2 (and in rain, also get Slowness 2). Of course, when I get out of the water or rain, any normal person would still be dripping with water, so I would still have Weakness 2 and be taking damage for a short time, about the same amount of time as a normal Minecraftian would burn. Plus, if possible, everything in my view will have a blueish tinge of color, to show when I'm wet. While wet, the damage rate is slower, similar to how it is slower while a person is on fire and not in lava. You could possibly even add a Water Resistance Potion or Enchantment, but that can be omitted, if necessary.
Now, you may be wondering what kind of person would want a mod like this. I'll tell you: Me, and anyone who has a fire-based skin or style. Although, this is really more of a personal preference rather than something the community would want, but I'm sure there are others who would love one or both of the mods. People seeking a true challenge will see the second mod, below. A huge daredevil may even use it without the first mod.
Of course, this does add challenge quite a bit, which is where a second mod would come in, both helping players with the first mod, and severely hindering those without it. This mod must be compatible with the first. If it isn't compatible, then scrap it and start again. It should also be a separate mod, however, so those wanting a tough challenge can get it without the first mod, too. This one is a mod where, randomly, when the game decides to make it rain, there will be a chance (I'm still thinking of the specific odds, or you can make that choice, chance being no heavier than 50/50) that it will instead rain fire. The sky turns reddish, and little fireballs will fall from the sky, and they will start fires all over the landscape, although not completely engulfing it in fire, it will cause widespread mayhem. Not only that, but it will set the player on fire if they're caught out in it. This is a challenge to anyone who wanted build a house from wood, or for anyone without the first mod, as they would surely die.
So, anyone who can build one or both of these mods, please do so and let me know. Place a link in this thread, preferably. It'd be best if they were both also compatible with Optifine, ModLoader, TooManyItems, Rei's Minimap, MAtmos, and other common mods, but of course, as far as I know, you can't specifically tell a mod to be compatible with something, so it's a gamble. Also, a server version of each would be nice, but again, that can be omitted if necessary.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck to anyone attempting to create one or both of these mods!
