    A rendering issue.
    OptiFine adds MipMaps, smoothing of distant textures, and the latest ExtraUtilites seems to disable it. I really can't give much more info than that, nothing unusual shows up in the log and there are no crashes.

    This is my first delve into TC4 and it's changes so apologies if this is an easily answered question.


    Can someone explain why the bottom-most Energised and Active nodes aren't connecting to complete the chain?


    There didn't seem to be anything about it in the Thaumonomicon, but I may have missed it.
    Any help is appreciated.

    That's actually the effect caused by the Wither, and opening NEI and looking at the spawner applies the same effect.

    Open the Item Subsets menu at the top, then Blocks, then right-click MobSpawners. That will stop all the spawners showing up in your selection area. Or if you want to remove just the Wither spawner and leave the rest, open the MobSpawners category and right-click the WitherBoss spawner.

    Got a problem when using the 1.2.5 Forge version.


    First image is how trees should grow/generate, which they do with the non-Forge version.
    Second image shows what happens with the Forge compatible version.

    I have noticed the problem previously (MC 1.5.2, again with the Forge version), so I doubt it's anything you've changed recently.

    Whoops, realised my reporting the player inventory as one pixel too high was incorrect, it's actually one too low.
    You may have recognised my mistake, but I figure I should correct myself just in case.

    I've moused-over slot 3 in each of these, showing the GBoH texture would need to be shortened one to match other inventories.


    Again, thanks for the work put into this. Everything added is brilliantly useful; helping in lots of ways other mods simply can't.

    This may very well now be a mod I'll use all the time by default.
    It does of course change the aesthetics of trees fairly substantially, but once you get used to that the performance bonus in leaf block dense areas is too great to give up!

    I'm not on too old of a system, my game usually sits at 50-60 at Normal render distance, but anywhere tree heavy always managed to halve that, especially Jungles.
    With this though, the drop in FPS (while still present) is nothing like it used to be.

    A quick test in a Forest Biome gave me some numbers to report.
    Without OptiLeaves, Normal Render Distance ~29
    With OptiLeaves, again Normal Render Distance ~42

    Also I've had no problems so far running this on top of Forge 7.8.0.716 and OptiFine Ultra D3.


    So, thanks for this and taking the time for making it Forge compatible!

    Most likely you've got Connected Textures enabled, and by default OptiFine adds support for Glass, Sandstone and Bookshelves.
    You can disable it under the Quality sub-menu.

    Please, please, can everyone reporting block updating issues with FTB read a few of the previous posts? This problem is posted and solved on pretty much every page.

    But, to save you the trouble of doing it yourself. A number of the packs included with the FTB Launcher use Forge versions which, as stated in the OP, are incompatible.
    • Download the Universal edition of Build 6.6.0.518 from here
    • Open the FTB Launcher, select your chosen pack, and click "Edit Mod Pack"
    • Under the "Jar Mods" tab, move the existing Forge to the "Disabled Mods" column
    • Click "Add Mod", navigate to and add your download of Forge 6.6.0.518
    There, done.

    You'll see "Build X.X.X.XXX". The last 3 numbers are what people refer to when naming Forge builds.
