It would be good if we could at least dye the handles of the swords to make it look beast in our inventory <3

    That's also a possibility :)

Not really. How tools look is something I never ever think about. I'm constantly switching to and from tools/weapons and the aesthetics of what I'm currently holding is something I wouldn't think of noticing or care about at all. Perhaps with proper balance so tools/weapons can't be recolored to fool people, it might work in the long run. But in the end, you're just recoloring something that will break eventually.

Though a dark blue pickaxe might look badass to me, it won't reassure me in any way or dazzle me when I'm swinging it at stone blocks and constantly switching to other items in between. That's just me though.

From the new update, that is not true, you could repair the tool/weapon using an anvil so that it won't just "break eventually".
And it would just maybe help if on a multiplayer server, you accidently mixed up your pickaxes, you would know whos is whos depending on the colour.
I know, you can rename to identify, but some people may not have the xp to rename their item.

I hate spawning in a biome I hate(I spawn in forests, but I really like deserts more for creative), although it would be better if you could choose a spawning biome.

I'm hoping that would become a feature in this, because it would be a great addition :) Thanks for your support!

The reason this idea hasn't been considered is that it would require a rewrite of the current lighting system.

Did you read the last part of my thread? Yes I know it would need a rewrite of the lighting system, except Mojang stated they would be working on one to remove the black areas. Read first please

"Giving it more water"? Plants do not need excessive water. That's like saying feeding your children 5000 calories a day will help them mature faster and healthier.

    Once again, I refer you to what I said;
    Quote from FiredHigh

I don't see why you continue to try and put this idea down

And if that's the case then why does rain make it mature faster? And I'm pretty sure when the idea first came around they weren't thinking about "Rain Gods" and how rain is "Sacred" and "Magical". The argument you are basing this whole thing off has little to no ground.

Not quite. Rain is seen by some cultures to be a magical shower sent by the gods.
I'm sure all sane people agree that drippy ceilings are not heavenly or magical, regardless of their beliefs.

I don't see why you continue to try and put this idea down, I'm sure no one thinks it's magical, but the idea is that there is more water dripping onto the crops, therefore giving it more water, whether it has water flowing next to it or not.

Technically speaking, there is no difference so long as it actually gets to them. Irrigating from the side just takes longer because there is a greater distance, but after it actually gets to the root, there is absolutely no difference.

You're taking this way too logically, the basis idea is that it doesn't really matter if there is water irrigation, but, as you said:
    Quote from Jake Von

    rain is magical

So this is running off the same basis

I like the idea of colored lighting, but it's not practical at all (For the coders of MC). It would require an extremely intensive addition to the lighting system. I don't like excessive lag for the sake of decoration so I don't support this idea.

The lighting engine needs a revamp anyway, so this whole "I don't like excessive lag" thing could be fixed through the new engine.

I think it's more of a tradeoff thing. "Hey, this leather armor is crap compared to the other types, but it's also the only kind that can change color, so... there you go!"

That wouldn't improve or change anything... Look at leather armor, it's a constant visual change to the player and acts as a second form of clothing (first being the actual player skin). Look at wool, the colors of that can offer clever pixel art and near-endless combinations of decoration.

Now look at tools, they're just things we use to get resources and we don't really care how they look, they're just things that eventually break and get replaced.

Then forget about the armor and tool dying then, just focus on weapon dying, wouldn't you prefer to have a custom enchanted tool, with a custom name, and a look that you want it to be like?

Well, yes, rain does fall directly on the plant, but a plant absorbs most (if not all) of it's water from it's roots (it's just common sense), and any water that seeps into the soil gets used, no matter if it comes from the side or the top, which is why I was against drip irrigation being more effective than normal irrigation. On the other hand, rain is magical so that can be acceptable to an extent.

It just appears that plants grow better absorbing from the top, that's why I suggested it :P

I like it. It makes sense. And the people who don't like it.... well they don't have to use it! Lol.

Exactly! I don't see why people make such a fuss over something they don't HAVE to use! :P
It would be like golden swords, barely anyone uses them :P

In that case, yeah, +1 Support c:

Haha don't worry about that bit anymore, I had too many conflicts with it so I ditched it until I come up with something new, but thanks for the support! :)
