posted a message on License question.

I don't believe there is anything like that. There is split screen on console however (info here). In order for him to play with you on java version though, he will need his own account (and email). You could use any old emails you have access to to set up his minecraft account though to avoid setting up a new one (the email can be changed later at mojang's website. Here is the link).

Also, windows 10 edition does not seem to have split screen capability, despite how convenient it would be here.

posted a message on Is 1.13 going to change all the textures to a higher res?

Personally, I like pretty much all the new textures I've seen so far. Brick looks odd though. We don't even know if the pictures even show the final textures that will be released (unless someone has said those are 100% done somewhere and I didn't see it). Either way I think there will be plenty of "pre-new-texture-update" resource packs out after these get released no matter how good/bad the new textures look.

posted a message on How to summon horse types in 1.11?

I haven't done any testing to verify this, or if this is even what you need, but maybe the horse wiki page, and the commands wiki page will help.

I've linked the summon command section, and the horse's data value section below

    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands#summon

    http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Horse#Data_values

Edit: maybe you could also try finding a generator online for summons. When I googled "minecraft summon", the first autocomplete was generator although I didn't see if any work properly

posted a message on How do you summon the courage/effort/will to rebuild?

Well, if it has special meaning then think of what it means to you when you start feeling discouraged. It can be quite difficult to self-motivate yourself but if you want your world back to how it was then you'll need to find a way.

And, perhaps take it as a lesson to manually backup important data regularly.

posted a message on Suggestions for survival server?

OH an idea just came to me. You should ask your player base.

Maybe create some kind of poll with some ideas, or just in game ask for feedback and what they want to see added/ changed about the server. I mean, who better to ask what should be on a server than the people playing on it?

posted a message on Suggestions for survival server?

All of my suggestions are based on players being able to /warp to places and then get back to their base with /home (or equivalent commands)

Perhaps host fun events that engage players. One a server I've played on for a while, the staff occasionally have everyone warp to a specific area and go through a series of minigames. Stuff like parkour and various pvp events sprinkled with giveaways and loot drops to keep our attention between rounds.

You could also host build contests. Those are pretty popular with players who like to show off their skills.

I DO suggest against making things/ resources harder to get. That just typically drives people (especially new ones) away.

posted a message on Anyone Got Ideas To Get Gen Buckets?

Perhaps look on a forum for that server, or maybe even ask other players of that server in game. Otherwise I doubt you will find the info you're looking for.

posted a message on Hi, i am new here.

Welcome to the forums. Lots of interesting minecraft related discussions happen here. I also spend a lot of time in minecraft exploring, it's can be very fun, especially when you play on a custom world with crazy terrain generation settings.

posted a message on Star Wars Server Ideas needed- Sith Lords appearance: Name of the server: factions? Input needed!

I have an idea for the name! StarCraft!

    ...oh wait....

Well, how would you make multiple planets work? Perhaps use a plugin that lets you have multiple overworlds and generate custom worlds that only have one biome? I don't actually know if it is possible, but I suggest this specifically because that's typically how planets are in star wars: each planet only has one type of terrain. The way to get between worlds would be on a spaceship (obviously ones based on star wars spaceships).

Oh, and since players can be jedi or sith, perhaps either faction can have custom mob sith/ jedi (the opposite alignment of each faction) spawn occasionally as difficult world bosses.

Like, a sith lord can spawn somewhere in a jedi controlled territory and the jedi have to work together to fight it off and the opposite for the sith controlled territories.

Or maybe a sith lord/ jedi master can spawn in uncontested territory and the two factions have to work to defeat/ protect the mob. If the mob gets a certain number of kills or lives long enough, the allied side gets a reward and if it's defeated quickly, the enemies get a reward.

posted a message on Items That Apply Effects When Held

Glad I could be helpful. This was a learning experience for me to, since I didn't know much about command blocks or attributes before answering your question.

posted a message on Items That Apply Effects When Held

Well attributes can be put on weapons to give certain effects while holding them. Here is the wiki page for attributes: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Attribute

This can change stuff like health, movement speed, luck, and the rest of the stuff on the list in the link.

There is a way to give players regeneration by detecting a specific item. using the command "/testfor @p {Inventory:[{id:"minecraft:diamond_sword"}]}" you can find if a player has a diamond sword in their inventory. Use the testfor command in an always active unconditional repeater command block and connect it to a chain conditional command block. In the chain command block, use "/effect @p minecraft:regeneration" to give the player regeneration for having a diamond sword.

Of course, replace the item id and the effect id with whatever you want. I was just going off your diamond sword giving regen example. Just make sure to set the command block output to false (/gamerule commandBlockOutput false) or you will be spammed by command outputs in chat whenever the testfor finds what it's looking for.

Additionally, I don't know exactly how to include testing for a sword with specific values (like a custom name or whatever) but I assume it's possible.

Here is the wiki for commands, specifically the testfor command: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands#testfor

Edit: use "/effect @p [effect] [seconds] [amplifier]" to better control the command. This example would call for "/effect @p minecraft:regeneration 1 0" this would give 1 second of regen 1 (the 0 in the command means regen level 1) that would constantly proc as long as a player has a diamond sword in their hand.

Note: using command blocks means you need to have the chunk the command block is in constantly loaded. If the command block is unloaded, the command won't run. I know there are ways to make sure chunks stay loaded even in there are no players in range of it, I just don't know how.

Huh, I haven't really thought about doing this. It's an interesting idea though, so I probably will start doing this.

posted a message on About Nether Fortress Mob Spawns

Basically, the mobs that are exclusive to nether fortresses only spawn within the range of a nether fortress (thus the exclusivity). The spawn algorithm check to see if where it's trying to spawn a monster is within a fortress or a part of a fortress. If yes or either it uses a special spawn list instead of the normal one, resulting in wither skeletons and blazes. (HERE is my source). I think the area above the bedrock doesn't count as in the area of the fortress.

posted a message on what should i change my name to on minecraft

Perhaps give some ideas on what your interests are? If you're wanting name ideas, giving interests or potential themes can help generate ideas.

For example: your name has the word soldier in it. Perhaps "General Aaron" or "Soldier Aaron" (/some other military rank and your name that sounds cool to you) or you could do away with the military stuff altogether and go with some other interest. I'm stating military stuff because I have nothing else to base ideas off of.

You could also google a name generator and see if anything that it comes up with gives you ideas.
