I'm a fan of your mod, I have enthusiasm, and I keep learning Java and Minecraft modding.
I don't yet understand fully how this mod's worldgen part works, but I'm willing to figure it out and it's just a matter of some time.
Strong common sense, critical approach, and my girlfriend who is a geologist will surely help me in this.

I'm looking for someone who is interesting in taking over the development and maintenance of Underground Biomes. I am finding that I just don't have enough time to manage this anymore and as a result I don't think I can deliver the fixes and features that are required.
I don't want to just leave this with no support of future but I can't continue to provide that. If anyone is interested in taking over please let me know here or via PM. I won't be disappearing so I can help with any questions or issues that come up while a new person is getting to grips with the code. It's fairly simple so it shouldn't be too hard to learn.

I corrected them not long ago seeing as they weren't set at all but I can't recall of the top of my head. They are definitely working correctly with vanilla explosions though.

oh one more suggestion you should edit vanilla cobblestone to be called "mixed cobblestone" and "mixed cobblestone stairs/slab" etc. i edited my lang folder to do this it really made the game feel better XD
It might be possible to add config settings for each block's ore dictionary entry but it would make the config file quite large. Interesting idea for renaming the vanilla stone types! I hadn't thought of that!

It seems certain chunks are not saving the changes to blocks that I make. These seem to occur in bunches. I am almost certain that the code is being run correctly but it seems like sometimes it just doesn't actually do what it is supposed to. If anyone has any ideas I am running out of things to check! I am wondering if there was a Forge change or something in regards to chunk loading seeing as this problem only started with the release of 1.5Posted in: Minecraft Mods

by this do you mean it is still reversed, or that it always generates?
edit, also do you have an ETA for the fix? I had started a world, but i love all the new stone, and there is so much vanilla stone
It should just still be reversed. I'm not sure why so much vanilla stone generates with the new option. I might look at reducing the number of vanilla stone biomes but that would affect the biome generation of all world I would expect.
I can aim to have a fix out by the start of the weekend. It's pretty simple on its own by I want to try and get a bit more into a release to make it worth it for people to update!

Hi Exterminator Jeff, I supported Underground Biomes in my mod that lets it interact with other mods.
What it does:
If Equivalent Exchange 3 is installed, Minium stone transmutes Underground Biomes stones in cycle, uncooks stone to cobble, converts igneous/metamorphic stone and flint block to vanilla flint, joins slabs and uncrafts anthracite block to 4 coal.
If Thaumcraft is installed, Underground Biomes stone and items will have properly assigned aura aspects.

Hm, just tried both, but they both had normal stone at spawn? weird I finally got my modpack working and then i cant figure this out
I haven't released a new version yet so the issue is still there sorry. Vanilla stone does seem to be super common as a result of the change but the other stone should still be generating.

Sorry I forgot to respond! Permission granted! I can add that for the next release although anything more than just disabling generation on the overworld could be a bit more difficult.

I have verified that it is enabled. I have also tried all the different types of cobble to make the stone gears and still not luck if there is any kind of log file I can send you or something I would love to get this mod working I love the different types of stone
I'm on a highly modified 1.5.2 basically includes all the FTB mods and the universal electricity mods
It sounds as though something to do with the way Ore Dictionary stuff works has changed so I'll see if I can find out what and get that fixed.

I know I need to change the block value, and I know which config I need to change, however I am not sure of a decent block range to change it to.
Igneous Stone is 250
Metamorphic stone is 251
Sedimentary Stone is 252
Ultimately I would like to change all of these to a range that won't conflict as I foresee all of them being an issue, and 250 just happening to be the first one that popped, thereby causing the crash.
if I were to set them to 3000-3002, would that be sufficiently high enough?
You can change it to anything less than 4096. The reason they are currently set to less than 256 is because when I first made the mod they had to be in order to be placed during world gen. When I redid the way the blocks were placed this requirement went away but I've left the IDs the same for compatibility reasons. I would really like to change them to something that wont conflict but I'm just worried that that could screw up a few people's worlds if they didn't realise and didn't have a saved config for whatever reason.

I might seeing as they are basically the same. They even look kind of similar so there's probably not much point leaving it in. Although can the coal storage block be burnt in a furnace?

The "Modify all recipes to include Underground Biomes blocks" config option is supposed to do this and has worked for Buildcraft in the past. Can you confirm that this config option is turned on? If it is and the recipe still isn't working then there is a problem.

I like your aquifer idea! That's definitely a possibility. Regarding the textures it is really difficult to get a nice amount of detail without making things look too busy. It would be possible with a higher resolution texture pack but unfortunately that's something that I just don't have time for. I would like to add / change some of the rocks at some point. Some of them aren't the best (epidote isn't even a rock!) so dolomite would be interesting although I would still need another igneous type to replace epidote.
Does the 0.3.6 version also work with 1.5.1?
Unfortunately not. It is close enough that you can start the game just fine but it will give an error when you try to load a world.

I still haven't decided yet but I don't think it would be too hard to do so if there's enough demand for that then probably. EBXL v4 will be significantly different from EBXL v3 and BOP so we'll have to wait and see

I have a similar set of mods and also noticed this issue. My TE config was set to replace vanilla ore generation from the start (prior to generating the world) and I noticed a significant decrease in ore spawning. That's actually the reason I came to check the forums - to see if anyone else had noticed as well.
Removing Underground Biomes without any changes to other configs resulted in a new world generated with proper ore spawning. Not sure if there's an interaction between TE and Underground Biomes that's unintended.

I am not seeming to be able to find any underground biome, i started a new world (with BOP) and i cant find any of them
Have you tried multiple worlds? By default there are biomes made of vanilla stone so it might take a while to find a biome with the UB stone

Just a note, I too have experienced the ore gen issue as well.

Also, is version 0.3.6, for MC 1.5.2 only?

It's there to try a convert other mods recipes that don't use the ore dictionary to use ore dictionary versions. I guess somewhere along the way it's thinking that a recipe for slabs is actually a recipe for stone. I'll see if I can replicate it and fix it
