The server has an overly-strict automatic ban. It banned me for advertising (!) when I mentioned my Java version in trying to help someone else fix a framerate bug. Please un-ban me.
One thing that people saying the tripwire is just a pressure plate seem to forget is that it has one big advantage relative to pressure plates for traps: destroying it will trigger it. The closest you can get to that with pressure plates that I know of is an item-pickup detector, and that only lasts 5 minutes or requires a dispenser and some wiring.
Well I didn't mean to come across as a **** so sorry about that but just pissed me off that my first experience on a multiplayer was so negative. What's worse is I gave it another shot, got my house rebuilt and my wheat field (all 10 spots) replanted and this idiot named iiToxiczz_v4 came by and destroyed that. He jumped up and down on the newly planted seeds to destroy them and said he wasn't griefing, he was raiding. I might be better off flying solo, too many idiots in games these days.
Is there a way that if someone places a block, like from their inventory, it can't be altered by another player ? Probably asking too much from the programming gods but that would be nice.
I'm sorry you've been griefed so much; this is not normal on CrustaceanCraft. Admins are almost always on to help and to rollback griefing, so it surprises me that no one came to help you. Incidentally, you do know that this is primarily a freebuild rather than survival server? There are item kits and you can request staff to spawn you items. In regards to your plugin request, there are plugins that prevent players breaking other players blocks, and they cause much more griefing than they prevent, by stopping legitimate players from repairing griefs.
Quick question, because I feel like I'm missing something - items can be automatically put into storage? I thought there was no way to actually get an item into a chest or similar container without picking it up.
No, not in vanilla Minecraft. One request people have had on this thread is to incorporate the Allocator mod into vanilla, which would add that functionality.
Is what you're looking for something that displays how many inputs are on currently? Or do you want it to have some sort of memory (e.g. capacitor-like)?

About me: I enjoy reading, computer programming, and bicycling. My favorite parts of Minecraft are resource gathering and redstone.
What I would do if accepted: I'd settle and start gathering resources to build some cool structures.
If the server got rolled back: I'd be somewhat annoyed at the lost progress, but would accept it and maybe try an alternate path.
Role in a new town: I'm not sure, since I haven't started a Minecraft town before, but since I have to guess I'll say tree farmer.
Ahem, either the IP in post is wrong, or you're lieing :biggrin.gif:
Seriously though, its not working
Note the span of several hours between his post and yours.
The IP in the original post is correct, and I seriously doubt Paul would lie about the server being up.
Presumably, the server was no longer up when you tried to connect. The server will be up again, so don't just write us off.

That's not very compact. I have a design that seems to be the same speed but is significantly smaller:
(Both control pistons are sticky, and there is a block on each, though only visible on one.)
It is, of course, fully stackable, though if one removes the final repeater it becomes slightly faster at the cost of no longer being stackable.

Edit: Terrible server, laggy and frequently griefed.

At one point the server had a capacity of 12. The normal capacity is 8, though Paul_VB may increase it occasionally.

The server is often up for hours. It does have to be restarted occasionally, but this only takes a few seconds.

Creative mode, like WorldEdit, is now a benefit of sufficiently high rank.
