posted a message on In game way to build custom blocks out of pixels in creative

Well I think that the creator block should only be available to the normal texture pack.

The only concern I have is that gambling could raise the rating up. Other than that, you have my support.

posted a message on Roof Tiles

    Woah.

    1. Don't go acting sarcastically sarcastic about other people's opinions, they are trying to improve your idea, which is probably what you should want.

    2. Staircases should remain, but maybe add a new staircase with wood variants that has 4-6 stairs in it?

    3. Roofs burning down should be the least of your worries, not everything should have no cons and all pros, this roof tile block should be able to burn down unless it is not made up of wood, discussion ended.

    4. Roofs look just fine made up of staircases if used properly. Minecraft consists of squares, not triangles.

posted a message on Biome Specific Music.

    What. A. Good. Idea!

Only thing I would suggest is cave music as well. And that there would only be separate music for main biomes. It would also be a good idea to make it an option, because sometimes people just want regular music.

posted a message on Space Exploration Update
    Quote from Mr_Wolfzilla»

That's what mods are for. There are things that aren't 'minecrafty' if you get what im saying. Like whats the point of building a giant palace if you're just going to abandon it and go to mars in a few days?

A lot of things in Minecraft are not what a typical player would consider 'minecrafty'. A space update is a wonderful idea if it's designed correctly. You also don't need to abandon said palace just to go to a planet, but that's an idea that the suggester could develop. I don't think you understand how good this idea could be.

posted a message on Space Exploration Update

This idea of a "space" update has SO MUCH potential, I already have a bunch of ideas right now. Spoiler Alert; I won't support your idea until I can be satisfied, but just hear me out.

    1. You really need to include paragraph breaks in your suggestion so that it's readable.

    2. You should take fishg's suggestion on board because I think it's fantastic. If you included The End as the "moon" of MC's over-world, then that would tackle a lot of confusion, since The End has a space feel to it as well.

    3. Your planet descriptions are great, but maybe you could have new blocks that act as portals for the planets, and ways to obtain said "portal blocks."

    4. I don't think a new type of redstone is a good idea, redstone is complicated on its own.

    Overall:

This thread truly interests me, but there are simply too many gaps that you have not filled. Until I see a well structured and detailed suggestion, you don't have my support.

Yeah. For example, you can't really build easily, you place block by block, and it's REALLY annoying. Any ideas?

    ?

Okay, looking at your replies to people, it really seems that you're milking intolerance. Just use swiftness potions when you build if you're not willing to try WorldEdit.

I think Bedrock Armour is unnecessary, just because it's rare doesn't mean it's a good suggestion. Just get enchanted Diamond Armour and you're set.

posted a message on Definition of 'vanilla'?
    Quote from Herb_»

Sure, like, you can have a command-block that removes all hostile mobs, and makes it rain diamonds. I'm sure most wouldn't call that "vanilla".

But a lot of so-called "vanilla" servers now use a command-block to enable 1-person-sleeping. Personally, I think that is not vanilla. The night-time is a very fundamental part of the game, and something we have to deal with. Also, coordinating and asking others if they can please sleep helps to build a community feeling.

Also, many so-called-vanilla servers turn off firespread. Again, I think that the risk of fire is part of the game, something we must deal with and consider when building things.

I like "pure vanilla" - and I get frustrated when I join SMPs which claim to be that, but have 1-person-sleep,and no firespread.

(Lots of them use Spigot too, which completely changes game mechanics; any spigot server is way off Vanilla)

I definitely think 1-person-sleeping and disabling fire spreads is NOT vanilla, but it's pretty close to the border for a lot of people. I play console a lot and I hate it when I join a survival server that's supposed to be "vanilla" but they put me on creative. <_< Anyways, those options (1-player-sleep, etc.) are very debatable so it's hard to put a border that everyone agrees on, it's more about your opinion.

Sure, I agree, but what about game rules and command blocks?

Well that's fine because they're actually in the game, right? But that can also cause some problems because you can do so much with a command block. That makes the Vanilla border a bit fuzzy..

I think to some extent you can use command blocks without people calling it a mod, but it can change everything if you push command blocks to their limits so I'm not too sure on that.
