While you're right that golems can't be assigned to specific slots (As far as I can tell), nitor isn't a fuel source. So even if they could that wouldn't work.

Sorry, you're correct. I meant Alumentum. I've edited my original post to reflect that.

    Automated Essentia Production Problem:

I'm having trouble automatically filling the bottom fuel slot of the Alchemical Furnace. I'm trying to automate my essential production. I've tried using a golem with the Fill core to put Alumentum in the bottom slot but the golem just fills the top slot. I've also tried hoppers in various configurations with the same results. If there isn't a way, perhaps a method could be added similar to the vanilla furnaces? Or perhaps an extension of the Fill Core capabilities?

We can still speculate, not "suggest" mind you, but guessing where FC might take sheep/wool and spider/string mechanics is interesting. For example, string is used for creating three things; fishing rods, bows, and wool blocks. So far, all of which could be easily placed in other tech trees or are simply redundant. Fishing rods and bows are the only two things worth making from string and I get the feeling that hemp fibres could make a natural substitute in both recipies. It's likely that the string-to-wool recipie was included as a way for Notch to give excess string a continued purpose but if that's true, then that's just lazy gameplay design. All-in-all, string really has very little purpose in the game right now.

Negative aspects aside, what makes string interesting? It's potentially much stronger than hemp fibres. It also might have sticky properties. Maybe it can be boiled down into a variety of glue? That would only reduce the value of slimes and slimeballs however. It's a tricky problem and one I don't have an answer for.

Chickens being made to only lay eggs after eating, is a step towards devaluing eggs as a food source. I'm impartial to that, but flip it on its ear for a moment. This raises the value of beef and pork, the best type of food, and arguably the easiest to aquire. For this reason, hardcore chickens is a bad move. Well, not really. Just unfinished. Something to devalue meat and make lesser foods a better option for early game would even things out. I don't have any specifics in mind though, I'm not a designer.

What's wrong with encouraging beef and pork as a primary early-game food source? It's easy to aquire and recreate. I value chickens more for their feathers (for use in arrows) than as a food source. The extra food is just a bonus. Besides, there's so many possible sources of food in the game, I don't think making eggs less useful as a food impacts gameplay in any meaningful way.

can someone give me ideas on how to explore with the hardcore bed feature? I need to find jungle wood but i would hate to have to dig a hole and wait for morning to come.

Use a boat and explore coastlines at night. There's still a risk of getting your boat smashed by a skeleton arrow or running aground on some hard-to-see obstacle, but it's generally the safest way to explore at night.

Minor bug report: The achievement for "Bake Bread" appears to be broken. (Discovered in BTW v.4.20)

Additional Info: "The Lie" (craft cake) still works fine so it's unlikely due to the change in ingredients. I suspect it's because a furnace is needed in BTW rather than the crafting table in vanilla. That said, Mojang hasn't yet addressed the "random stat and achievement reset bug" so I doubt this is a priority but I figured I'd report it for sake of completion.

p.s. I tried posting this report on the BTW Forum bug list (after looking through all 16 pages for a duplicate) but was unable to register. Is registration closed? I'd like to join if possible. I only recently started playing with this mod but I already really appreciate the dedication to gameplay balance and would love to join the community. Thanks!

Since my plan on containing the spam backfired completely I'm unlocking this. I'd much rather hunt spam in the central thread than jumping around the board index for threads asking for when this will be updated.

Would it help if we reported update spam? I'd gladly report every update spam post if I knew that they would be dealt with accordingly.

I saw this request both in the thread before and the PM, my apologies for not replying. I will put it down on my todo list but I don't see it as a priority, might be just me but I have never had a problem finding slimes... regardless I will write it down. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the reply! My custom avatar offer still stands. (It would also make it easier for us to identify your posts if you weren't using the default steve-face avatar)

Edit: Whoops, I didn't realize you had already updated the spawner command in 1.9. Awesome.

    Hey simo_415,

I'm a big fan of SPC and really appreciate all the work you've put into it. Recently however, I noticed a distinct lack of slime chunk finding commands. In the spirit of completeness (and utility), I'd like to request the addition of commands similar to the ones below:

    • /slimechunk returns true or false if the player is currently located within a slime chunk.
    • /slimedebug toggles a "true/false" display of slime chunks in the f3 debug menu similar to the Slime Chunk Finder mod (Link).

Also, extending the "/spawn" command to include testificates would be awesome. Please let me know if any of these additions are a possibility. Again, thanks for all the work you've put into supporting and updating this mod. I'd buy you a beer via paypal but I don't own a credit card. Instead I'm offering my services as a Graphic Designer to make you a custom forum avatar since it appears that you don't have one. Let me know if you're interested. I look forward to its next update!

    Ehnon

p.s. Sent you a pm, but it seems you haven't received it yet.

EDIT: Whoops, I didn't realize you had already updated the /spawner command for 1.9. Awesome. I was still using 1.8.

Can you add add the support of mobs please? Also the uploading is not working.

I think you should clarify what you mean by "the support of mobs" and uploading. Last I checked there's no uploading necessary for SPC.

Feature request/suggestion (Please don't bury this get buried with "when's it being updated" crap!)

Hey simo_415, I love your mod and really appreciate all the work you've put into it. While very thorough and covering just about all aspects of the game, I noticed a distinct lack of commands for slime finding. In the spirit of completeness (and utility), I'd like to suggest and request adding the following two commands in regards to slimes:

"/slimechunk" returns true of false if the player is currently located within a slime chunk.

"/slimedebug" toggles a "true/false" display of slime chunks in the f3 debug menu similar to the Slime Chunk Finder mod.

Again, thanks for continuing to support and improvements for this mod. I look forward to its next update!

p.s. If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, please quote it so it gets noticed. Thanks!

posted a message on [v3.7] AMIDST - Strongholds, Village, Biome, Etc. Finder. [1.7.4]
    Quote from TheRogueX

Hey! This application is great, but I have one issue: The maps it produces are never accurate. It *almost* always gets the locations of the strongholds correct, but the biome maps are always wrong. Is there something I'm doing wrong, perhaps?

The biomes are all correct however if you're loading an old map (generated pre 1.0 full release) then they won't necessarily match up to the generated land. Also, the landforms themselves don't always match up but that's to do with terrain generation, not biome generation. From what I can tell, this is also why villages sometimes don't generate even though they say they will on AMIDST. I spent the last two hours testing seeds from 0 to about 300 just seeing what MC will do.

I'm running Windows 7 and for some reason AMIDST isn't working for me. I've tried loading new 1.0 worlds from save and via typing in a seed and nothing happens. The window remains completely blank. I've even left it for half an hour to see if it's just loading slowly and still nothing. Any assistance would be appreciated, I'd really like to try out this program!

Edit: I re-downloaded my MC jar and it started working for some reason. I don't understand how that fixed things, but I'm happy it's working!

Talk with sk89q regarding WorldEdit - that isn't my mod, I removed my "WorldEdit" functionality from the mod several months ago. Yes you could add it as a plugin, depends how well the author wrote the mod though, the sk89q wrote his mod extremely well which allowed for the SPC port.

    Thanks for the reply simo!
