Thank you very much! I'm sorry if I came off as a tad bit annoyed, but I had just died to a Barakoa shooter while standing 20 blocks away in my tower behind 2 walls :P.

Hello, I would like to report that the Barakoa that shoots poisonous darts... shoots through bloody walls. Fences. Anything. The projectiles literally phase through walls and do damage and everything. I'd love to see a fix for this, as I am living in a Savannah and it's bloody annoying.

    Hello guys!

I am going to try to get together with Dave rather soon so we can discuss our plans going forward. We shall see how it goes, but we will do our best to get a port of the mod up and running, though we cannot give you any sort of ETA as of right now, given how ''up in the air'' everything still is.

Hello, out of curiosity is the "bug in the system" theme a soundtrack someone made for this mod? Or is royalty free?

Also, and plans for a tameable spider mount such as scytodes and tarantula? I would love to have an arachnid as a mount. (Perhaps scorpions too, give me that sort of feel that MoCreatures gave with tameable giant arachnids.)

It was made for us by Ben Porayko, who also made some music for the Betweenlands back in the day.

I am not sure whether we want to have all sorts of creatures tameable, but the common ones aren't likely to become a mount. The whole thing that makes the other mounts so cool is that you really have to travel to find them since they're native to a single biome. An arachnid mount is not counted out, though we have some other things we'll work on before we start looking at new mounts.

    Quote from Glarnboudin»

I have some ideas for the mod:

-A giant weta the size of a sheep: farmable?

-Some of the creatures from the spider pit from the King Kong 2003 remake (They'd fit really well).

-A dragonfly boss that's literally half-insect, half-reptile (Would be an extremely fast, agile mob; fires small fireballs at a rapid pace that do little damage, but come at you extremely quickly).

-Peacock spider: A brightly colored spider that is passive to the player, instead adding the injection of dancing spiders to this mod that it so desperately needed.

-Crocodile-sized olds that lunge out of the water to attack both insects and players.

-Enormous frogs and toads; can be tamed and used as an extremely unusual mount.

-Bulldog ant: Deadly jaws that can easily take down unarmored players.

-Japanese giant hornet: Larger, more dangerous version of the current hornet.

-Crazy ant: Small, fast-moving ant that can deal a lot of damage extremely quickly.

-Degenerate: An emaciated pale white humanoid greatly resembling the Rake; lacks eyes, ears, or a visible nose; hooked claws on the hands and the digitigrade feet allow for climbing walls and quickly traversing terrain; attacks by either leaping out or dropping down from a ceiling-no fall damage-and biting with a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth and swiping with its hand claws; a ritual of some sort could be done to temporarily turn into one.

-Bullet ant: Small, solitary ant that does massive damage with its bite.

-Stag beetle: Smaller cousin to the titan beetle that attacks with its massive mandibles.

-Earwig: Has a more elongated tail than the real one; curls it up over its head and uses it to strike like a scorpion.

    -Scorpionfly: A deadly flying predator.

-Killer bee: Small and weak individually, but are lethal in large groups.

-Arthropleura: A neutral creature that rears up like a cobra to attack players; venomous bite?

-Earthworm: A giant passive worm that can be hunted for meat.

-Naked mole rat: Live in a large hive with boar-sized warriors, who sport large, sharp tusks on their lower jaws; smaller workers, which lack tusks like the warriors but have larger forelegs with huge curved claws; and the massive, corpulent queen.

-Aphid: A small herbivorous insect; can be farmed.

-Cone snail: Strikes at players with its venomous proboscis-thing.

-Sea scorpion: Has one pair of claws like the Pterygotus, and one pair like those of Megalograptus.

-Bobbit worm: Immense worm monster that bursts out of the ground to bite with its immense jaws.

-Sea cucumber: Wormlike creature that spews its guts at you; causes nausea?

-Water spider: Aquatic spider that drop air bubbles; these can either be consumed to get extra air or can be crafted into an aqualung, a large bubble-like device that is equipped in the chest slot.

-Sea pig: Lives at the bottom of aquatic areas; can be farmed.

-Vampire squid: Latches onto players and starts draining blood (I know it doesn't do that IRL, but it was too good an idea to pass up)

-Hallucigenia: A bottom-dwelling animal that rolls into a ball when confronted by predators, exposing only its long, venomous spines.

-Isopod: Essentially, it's an aquatic beetle.

-Anomalocaris: Grabs players with its tendril thingies before inflicting damage.

-Opabinia: Attacks quickly with its trunk like mouth.

-Mantis shrimp: Spearers slice with their claws, smashers just punch the crap out of you.

-Giant water bug: Apex predator of the Erebus' rivers.

-Hagfish: Eel-like animal that turns the water around it into slimy material; it eventually converts back into water, but touching it gives you nausea and poison effects.

-Giant spider crab: Can be mounted for use as a climbing mount or hunted for its delicious crab meat.

-Trilobite: Large armor-plated bottom-dweller; can be farmed.

Thank you for your ideas, we will see what we can do with them. I am especially interested in the prehistoric creatures.

I would love to see some kind of golem boss awoken with a scarab in a new temple.

The current Antlion boss pyramid dungeon found in the volcanic desert functions similarly to that already. We may be updating that jungle to include scarabs sometime in the future, but for now, we consider it done.

So. The bugs are back in town. Yaknow, I realize, if you look in the Creative menu, you'll see the Erebus is a LOT more complex then it first appears, with bee and ant mechanics, with 'varnished' stuff... It's really great. New additions to the swamp would be nice---Deeper lakes, new bugs (Water Spiders and Water Scorpions [which aren't really anything like scorpions.].). As a passive mob, Millipedes would be nice---Have them spawn in jungles, and be the Jungle alternative way of getting repellent, for those who don't live near Elysian fields. Finally, since in Erebus backstory, the Erebus was inhabited, cave villages with survivors who can trade Erebus items and other stuff would be amazing.

The swamps are kind of ''finished'' I feel. They have about the same amount of content as other biomes, and we don't want to overload the biomes too much (they are already far more complex and special than vanilla biomes).
We won't add cave villages with survivors, by the way. We discussed those ages ago, but deemed them not fitting. While we may add some ruins with loot in the future, they won't be inhabited. The people of the Erebus have long gone extinct.

    Quote from TempoStorm»

The mod adds everything in new dimension and nothing else in vanilla game such as biomes in overworld?

We do not add any overworld content, though you'll need to watch your back in the Nether a bit more often.

Ah, yes, the mod that was seemingly designed to give me nightmares. Even more terrifying than the Dimensional Door's labyrinths and Monoliths, are giant freaking wasps.

    It looks good. Bravo.

The Erebus is back in business!

... kind off. Let's just see active development has kind of started again.

We will be working towards the 0.3 release, which will have but one major focus: gameplay enhancement. It is being called ''the polishing update'' (by me) for a reason.
We will add some new features, but we will mainly work on reworking bits, removing bits, improving bits... Overall turning the Erebus into a more cohesive gameplay experience.

    That's all, folks!

So... I can't figure out what the Hearts do. Stone heart, Mana heart, Elven heart, etc. Are they not yet implemented in game? Is there anywhere I could find information on the mod in general? The wiki is missing a fair number of entries and many more are just empty. I love the look and feel of the mod, but I just can't figure out how to use it.

This is/was WIP content that currently has no use. Actually, it's likely they will be removed next update, since we are completely postponing the section of the mod that they belong to.

    LOVE love this mod!

I was wondering, is it possible to nametag some of the cute arthropods from the Erebus? I'd like to bring a solfugid home and have a little bug collection!

Do the monsters de-spawn in the overworld if I get too far away?

Creatures with nametags shouldn't despawn I believe. Nametagging them is possible, ofcourse. Bringing them with you through the portal though... Try it out and tell us what you found, I suppose :D.

    Hello people,

I've been completely absent from the Minecraft community (and the game itself) as a whole, but I am showing my face around here again. I don't know how long it'll last, but I've been having an itch to play some minecraft again for the past few days.

No news on any progress though, as I've been heavily disconnected from modding too. I will play a bit with the Erebus to get a feel as for where we stand and such before I jump back into it.
