Alvoria posted a message on Has anyone figured out how to edit/amplify Vignette in Minecraft without Mods?Posted in: Resource Pack HelpQuote from WolfLover4423»
Thank you for taking the time to reply, but that wasn't quite the answer I was looking for. I believe that's mostly my fault, I should have composed a more thorough question.
I'm having trouble editing Vignette.png because It's quite... Confusing. Instead of it being simple, like maybe, dark corners on a 256x256 transparent background, it's a black dot like the texture for Shadows.. How exactly does that work? Sorry if this is even more confusing..
Actually... no. That's totally understandable and probably what you should have said in the first place. I get it, and I have an answer.
The vignette isn't a normal texture as you think of things like block textures. Instead, it's an opacity mask similar to an alpha channel. What this means is that it governs how opaque the hard-coded color overlay is rather than being the overlay itself. Black is zero, so any part of the overlay that's black is 0% opaque. White is 1, or more accurately 100% opaque. So any part of the vignette you make white will be solid black in-game. Every shade of gray will be between the two extremes. That is, partially transparent.
Confusing? Yes. But the whole point of this is likely to make the overlay editable without allowing players to change the color of the screen effect; keeping it the normal dimming effect at all times.
I hope that helps you. -

darealmeesta posted a message on Texture Artists' UnionPosted in: Resource Pack DiscussionHeyo, I just wanted to show off my new Enchanting Table (and the book) Texture. It took me a really long time to find a way to do the obsidian base and the book texture atlas is such a pain to work with.
Next project is gonna be to replace the wool and the piston textures.

If we're talking wikis, how about proposing some sort of texturing integration into the minecraft wiki?

The black stripes on the corners look sort-of like eyes...

I haven't noticed anything different.

No, an inverted cuboid (not transparent), i.e. instead of the coordinates for it going from the bottom-left corner to the top-right (or whatever it is), the coordinates would go from the top-right to the bottom-left. Doing that should make it so that you can see the faces inside the cuboid, but not the outside faces.
If you put a white thing inside that, it would make a pretty cool lightsaber blade.
Hope this helps

Pixel Perfection is a beautiful 16x16 resource pack, as is Wayukian Pack.
As for something that looks like DEM Textures, however, the standard stock-image 'realistic' aesthetic isn't really possible in a 16x16 resolution.

Hey, does anyone know what the new 'debug' block texture is used for?

There are more textures other than these blocks, such as the sun and moon. Custom colours have been added, through MCPatcher.
Available at PlanetMinecraft
Everything in the pack fits to XSSheep's original palette, except for the sun and moon textures (which include pure black), and the foliage colourmaps (which contain pure white). I'll probably add some purples and maybe an orange or white eventually, too.

Woah, it's been some time since I posted on this thread. Have some Mario textures.
I'll probably double the resolution on the zombie koopa soon.
I've made some blocks too, but they're not as interesting.
Also, new avatar.

More stuff.
I'm not too happy with the oak, birch, jungle or dark oak leaves, but there aren't enough shades of green to just recolour the spruce and acacia ones.

New stuff, with XSSheep's palette.
