I know there must be some good reasons for this. But sorry FTB Team, that isn't funny. I guess 99% of the people understand that mod upgrading is a long and difficult process, so no need to discuss that any further.
But it isn't updating anymore. You could interprete this news in a way saying between the lines that redpower will be delayed for other mods which are not ready yet. Like this new EE3 mod,which has had no visible (read it, visible.) progress for months, but caused EE2 to die.
I support this "update only, no new features" approach at this point, but it won't be successfull.
Naive minds might even feel like some people are getting used to the attention, the fame and the medial presence they acquired in the last few months due to their hard work, and lost their focus on what they really are, building up strategies to make the mod pack more and more perfect and playtest on their shiny widelyknown test servers accompanied by the tragic relationship to all this groupie fans hanging around on espernet, youtube, here and so on.
But hey, thank god we are NOT naive minds.

EE3 does have SOME visible progress. Not much, but still some.
He fixed it the episode after he derped on the placement. He had a heat vent and the...umm..whatever the other thing is...switched near the top right corner.
It's been down since Saturday, wouldn't count on it meaning anything more than a database error. She probably won't bother putting it back up until it is released though. I know a handful of people that instead of just checking the RSS feed or manually checking were running automated scripts to check her page every minute....a lot of pointless bandwidth being ate up.
Since I am tired of waiting for Wuppy21 to make a GUI tutorial more undertsandable than the one on the Forge wiki. I will have some temporary crafting recipes using a normal crafting table. I am hoping to have a build that does something out tonight. Are you going to be making a V6 right away when I have a working build, or you will you wait until you have other things to update as well?
EDIT: Bananas are VERY broken, rendering is messed up, they can't grow, bonemeal has no effect, they drop cocoa beans, and they break on a block update.
This is a mod I am working on to completely change how the health and hunger system works. Currently I am working on getting a special workbench for food called the "Food Bench" to craft some of the new foods that will be in my mods. (Yes, the including ketcup on steak) I also plan to add some form of "disease" to the game when I start really changing the health system. I also plan to add "Dehydrated Water Tablets" to the game. I will be adding machines to do things much as that, and I will likely make this mod use Universal Electricty for power. GitHub here. I wil add a download link as soon as I get it to work. (It works in esclipse, but issues happen when I try to run it from a mods folder in a normal game)
Machines planned:
Dehydrator: Processing dehydrated food, dehydrated water tablets
Powderizer: Grids things into a powder, sugar cane processing, dehydrated water tablets
Packager: Used to package certain foods (like candy), make tablets for medicine part of mod, dehydrated water tablets
Grinder: Grinds things into smaller chunks (not a powder though), beef into ground beef
Hydrator: Processing water into things, ketcup
Crops planned:
Beans
Corn (hopefully I can get this to work alongside Xycraft corn)
Grapes
Berries
Bananas
More mushrooms (including some with posion)
Rice
Algae
Soybeans
Tomatoes
Lettuce

There is something you can do with MCEdit to get silver, nikolite,gems, giant rubber trees, and volcanoes in the world after it was generated, although ones house might be replaced with a volcanoe, it is a bit of a gamble.
OT: Trying how entities pass nether portals in 1.4.2.
Doesn't seem bug free at all..
Cows fell through the nether part of the portal.
And when returning to overworld for 2nd or 3rd time, new portal above the world spawnpoint was generated.
AND when I enclosed myself in 2x2x2 room with 3 witches, one kept hiding herself on the other side of the corner and returning from time to time
PS: If I keep standing in it after teleportation, I get the whirring animation as in older version... but much much slower and probably never ending.
At least it seams they DID something about the memory usage...
EDIT: now I floodded the witch room with water and they started glitching through the floor.
EDIT2: And a small slime spawned on the surface on the bottom of a lake. Is that right?
EDIT3: not one, found 2 more big or medium slimes, hopping around the surface
I am SURE that 1.4.2 redpower is way more ready than 1.4.2 itself! (Which obviously means that I don't think that 1.4.2 is ready in any way)

It's probably a coincidence that most of the players are mod developpers. But by making an awesome mod, you might have a small chance to come accross Direwolf20 and maybe trick him to become his friend.

I have a problem. When i use mcpatcher and put optifine and modloader, it says there is a conflict between those mods. Basicly, they both have the class file avg.class. Is there a way you can fix this?

Optifine and MCPatcher do not work together. Optifine does the same things MCPathcher does, does them better, and does other things as well.
EDIT: I am talking about the better grass and stuff by the way.
There would be one problem with the Yogcast using this mod. They are using Tekkit, which uses Bukkit. So this mod would have to be ported to Bukkit for the Yogcast to use this mod.

The next version will be Redpower 2 Pre-Release 6. Pre-Release 2 was a really old version of Red Power where SMP support was added.
