    Heard about Server: Whilst browsing through the survival servers here on the MCF.

    Rules: Yes. I always follow the rules, and expect others to as well.

    Raging: I don't see the need to rage. I can understand getting upset, but typically raging ins't neccessary, and therefore can be deemed inappropriate behaviour.

    Side note: I've been browsing around through the recent survival servers, and this is one of the few that caught my eye. Hope to see you around on the server sometime, and hopefully it's as interesting as it sounds here ;)

    Why am I interested: The idea of an RPG server that isn't built directly into the current existing mods and plugins intrigues me. I like that the base for this server is around anime such as SAO, and I feel that this adds a very unique element to what sounds like a very interesting server.

    Expectations: to see something different than what I've seen on some other servers. obviously as an RPG style server, certain things might be similar, but I like the fact that there (appear to be) specific builds, and possibly dungeons built specifically for the purpose of going out and raiding, as opposed to some other RPG games, which simply add skills like woodcutting to the normal Minecraft experience, but don't add much in actual content or direction.

    Other Details: Not much really, I've read through most of the posts in the thread, and overall it sounds great. I'm curious as to whether you have a server texture pushed through or if you allow players to use their own packs for textures(I can think of one I will probably use if you don't have a server texture, hence why I am asking).

    Anyways, I'll check back on this tomorrow or possibly the day after, and see if I can hop on the server, as it appears that applications are readily accepted to the beta, they just aren't always directly responded to ;)

    Prior to Forge for 1.7.X, Minecraft and it's mods have all used Block and Item ID's, which led to quite a few conflicts. With the release of Forge for 1.7.X, This is no longer the case. Forge will now be moving all information regarding the ID's to something known as "Objects", that it can then use to automatically handle all conflicts, on its own.

    What does this mean?

    This thread is no longer needed, as Forge itself will be doing what this thread was originally intended to help solve.

    While I'm a bit sad that this is no longer needed, It is absolutely amazing that the Forge team has reached a point where all the difficult work(well, most of it ;)) can be done in the backend of their mod.

    As per the fact that I've restarted into working on THIS, I've chosen to start fresh in a new thread to keep this fairly uncluttered.

    I will be re-working and updating the old config pack in small increments, as well as adding in new mods that I didn't include or have been released since the config pack was last released. In the interest of making sure all updates are available to you guys ASAP, I've chosen to change the release schedule.

    I will be giving DIRECT access to the config folder I use via Google Drive, this way anytime I update any file(even just one), it will immediately be accessible to you guys for download. Obviously this means two things.
    1) If you prefer to use large numbers of mods, it'll mean quite a few more downloads.
    2) If You like to pick and choose specific combinations of mods, You aren't going to be burdened by the other configs in the pack as You can only grab the ones you want.

    Finally, I will do my best to update a changelog on what has been updating/released as I make changes to make it easier to keep track of.

    I will possibly look into setting up a mirror, but at this point, I will be exclusively using Google Drive as it simplifies the process for me.

    As in the past, I will not be Adf.ly'ing my links, as I will not be distributing the mods, and I don't think that this work ought to make money.

    If you guys feel like donating for the work, just PM me or something, just know I don't expect anything, since this is something I do as a hobby since I enjoy it. :)

    That looks like You're working on CODING a mod. If that is the case, it appears that whatever You are coding to explode is missing the i variable in the expression for that code.

    If You AREN'T coding a mod, please tell us what mod(s) You have installed currently.

    illegal start of expression typically means You're either missing the beginning variable for something, or You gave it an illegal or "impossible to use" value.

    The B:useCustomSpawner=false can be found inside the config file for the mod. The specific mod versions he listed appear to be dev builds, which don't seem to be listed on the main thread for the mod, so I would be interested in seeing where they came from as well.

    The best "Dimension" mod that adds a minimal amount of content to the game, aside from dimensions would be Mystcraft. It adds the ability to custom create dimensions to the design of Your choosing, from biomes, to sky color, and a great many other things. The amount of content it adds outside of the dimensions is minimal compared to most other mods with dimensions. Many other mods may add 1-2 dimensions, but are usually also packed with a ton of extra stuff as well, so this is probably your best option. :)

    You will need to use Forge, remove Modloader from Your minecraft install, as it will only interfere with things.
    We decided to use Minecraft Forge for this mod

    Unless otherwise specifically stated in the mods(I'm not going to go through them all) threads, They will all work fine together, AS LONG AS you properly adjust the IDs so that there are no conflicts. You also have to adjust the Dimensions in some cases, if any of the mods add dimensions. Other than that, You should be fine to use all of them.

    TL:DR;

    Make sure Your mods all available for 1.6. THe Sammiches mod is only available for 1.2.6, so You will not be able to use that mod.
    There are a few others not available(The fairy mod says its for 1.7.3, it means BETA 1.7.3, and does not appear to be updated past 1.2.5, so that is another that will not work.

    Start by making sure they are available for the version of Minecraft You want(1.6 You said), and then look at the installation instructions and add them in one at a time. If You need any additional help, or run into any issues, just let us know and we can try to take a look.

    Sorry I won't go through all the links, but I'm in the middle of a lecture at University, so I don't have much time to do much digging.

    If you are playing in Single player, You can either just disable Mystcraft entirely using the launcher, or You could just choose not to make Mystcraft ages. If You don't create any, it won't cause You any lag.

    If You are on a server, as Phyore has already said, You can disable the mod, but make sure anyone else connecting also has it disabled or You will run into compatibility issues.

    The Xbox version of Minecraft will not have any supported versions of the mods found here on these forums, as Microsoft does not want games run on their console being modded(Liability issues, as well as security issues).

    While I'm sure it is possible to find some mods for the Xbox version, You do so at Your own risk, as Microsoft reserves the right to ban xbox live accounts caught using modded games.

    As Yuni has already said, set Your PermGen RAM to roughly 1GB, that usually clears things up. Anything more than that typically gets wasted and actually(from past experience) seems to trigger a memory leak that can cause crashing issues if You play for extended periods of time.

    You can also look for support for this issue on the Technic Pack Forums, as that is where the Technic team is located and properly supports both their launchers and any related modpacks. :)

    How are You going about deleting it? Are You opening the Jar in an archiver like WinRar, 7ZIp, or WinZip?


    The folder will usually re-generate after running minecraft, but that is normal.

    If You are installing Forge, Forge contains it's own version of that folder, so delete it before adding Forge, and afterwards leave it in, as You would be removing essential Forge files if You remove it both times.
