    I may have found the answer to the Optifine bug! After testing I noticed that with Optifine installed the mod didn't even make a LionKing.dat (where quest information is stored) so there's nowhere to even save the data, let alone reload it when you play the world again.

    So this got me thinking, and I suddenly realised why Optifine stops the quests working.

    Basically, in Minecraft all the dimensions are assigned a world, and the name of the Java class for these worlds is 'WorldServerMulti', except the Overworld with is just 'WorldServer'. Now when the Overworld, the Nether, the Pride Lands, etc. are all loaded, each world is being ticked, but I only want the quest updating and saving to be run once. So I check if the world being ticked is the Overworld - by seeing if its name is 'WorldServer' - and if so, run the quest code.

    However Optifine replaces the standard world with a slightly different one, 'WorldServerOF' which works almost the same as a normal 'WorldServer' except that since it has a different name, the LK Mod doesn't recognise it, so the quest code is never run!

    This is a huge breakthrough for me and for the mod and if all goes well I should have a final quest fix update out later today.

    The Star Realm quest should involve talking to Mufasa, since I do plan to put him there. For the Upendi quest I was thinking some kind of hyena boss, which you have to fight alongside Simba, Kovu and Kiara.


    He can say that after you finish the quest. If you speak to him, there are a set of random phrases that he might come out with.


    I actually had this idea ages ago right when I started the mod, but I honestly think it would get annoying having the same music play every day at the same time. There is a Circle of Life-inspired music track in the mod though, it's one of MinecraftUniverse's 5 music tracks.


    lol omg, your update still won't work with Optifine. Optifine is apparently working perfectly well with the latest Forge, though, Mevans. The forge is #522. I'm still stuck with the flippin first quest lol.

    Are you using any other mods? Especially, Optifine? Because it's been reported to not work with Optifine. If so, can I get a list of your mods? I think that would help me a lot.

    Edit: Yep, I just ran a quick test with Optifine installed: the quests and everything reset as soon as I loaded the world. And without Optifine, everything works fine. I'm also running my Lord of the Rings mod, so it's not other mods that's the issue, it's Optifine specifically.

    This is progress, and I can work towards fixing it now.


    Yes, I was using Optifine that time. I'm also aware that Optifine has quite some trouble with the latest version of Forge. I had to install the #499 version of Forge to make it run well.

    Anywho, I really hope you'll be able to work this one out! Thanks heaps!

    Soz, mate. It still doesn't work :(
    I even deleted Lion King related folders in my saved world folder (the Pridelands, Outlands, and Upendi folders) in hope the quest would restart, which it did, but then the quest got stuck again at that point.

    Zomg Holy Sweet! I'm diggin it! This mod is totally well done. Only thing, though, could you make the keys configurable? It's heaps better if I could configure them as the C note is much better to be played from the third row of the keyboard (which starts from Z) and the higher notes are better played from the first and the second rows, at the very least for me. :)

    Other than that, PIANOTASTIC!

    Anyway, after all those awesomenesses, there seems to be a bug in my game. The quest doesn't work! I've talked to Rafiki and even collected 64 Hyena's Bones NO HACK! The quest is still stuck in "Talk to Rafiki". Can you tell me how exactly is this happening?

    Hey, sp! I've always loved this mod but ever since bugs about liquids not flowing, sugar canes not falling when you hit the bottom and probably many more bugs that I haven't discovered as of yet existed, I kinda stopped using this. I reckon it's because of 1.4.7 patch that's messing up? I use the latest forge and modloader. Before I installed this mod, with those two on, the water and everything worked, but not after. What can I do to fix this? Or is there anything that you forgot to list in the the OP?

    Call me crazy but it looks like in the picture you are still hovering the item over the box and haven't actually placed the item in the crafting box yet.it doesn't look like the sanded wood on the far right is actually 'in' the crafting box same for the pipe screen.
    I doubt that is the case but it looks like it haha.

    Nope, they were already in place, it's just that I had to hover my mouse over the item so you'd know that it actually is the right item. And if you should ask me, it's still not working.
