    I once built a secret lab while feeling like an evil genius. I had villagers in cages, hanging above lava, and I tested enchantments, explosives, potions and torture methods on them. Also locked players in there by de-opping them, teleporting them into bedrock reinforced cells and changing their spawnpoint.

    But if we speak practically it was probably building two redstone experiments on a friends server: First a machine that every 1 second teleported everyone 1000 blocks up in the air with command-blocks. I did not remember coordinates, so nobody could teleport to the commandblock and remove it. Finally the owner had to remove my entire cellar with mcedit...
    I also built a lag machine with repeaters and lamps wired to a rapid pulser, which caused anybody near it to have a significant fps drop, and almost crashed the server.

    I must say I'm happy I wasn't banned for more than an hour...

    I might try this on the multiplayer server where I play when it resets the map. Of course I wouldn't be able to build on my spawnpoint, but still...
    Anyway I would combine it with a bit of a challenge I thought of, which is playing as an ancient vampire: Not allowed to go out at day, can't use swords/axes/bows against mobs, always play on hard, and only eat raw meat. I would of course need to edit the rules a bit, for instance a pig/cow farm (including a smaller wheat/carrot farm for food for them)instead of only a wheat farm...

    Anyway, when I start I will post screenshots by linking to an album, just like I did with the city construction challenge...
    Looking forward to trying it. :) (Even if I must admit I might edit the rules a bit more, but I'll try not to do any large, unbalanced edits...)

    Not sure if it was quite what you were looking for, but still: I intend to start a world as a weak vampire, meaning I can not touch sunlight, I must play on hard but can only kill mobs with my fists(Have to build traps and walls around water sources and key locations), and can't wear any armor. I can't sleep either, and I can only eat raw meat.
    Also thinking of not using buckets, so that I have to lead water with tubes and canals.
    Takes a lot longer than a day, but I still thought it might be something to consider...

    Well still, I believe I have a problem because of my 1.3.2 client, but how do you downgrade it? I deleted the bin folder when it didn't work the first time, and I dont have any backup of previous .jars...

    And I also think that redstone should be acessible at lower levels, although I think the diamonds are perfectly fine.

    I think you should be able to make a compass at stage 3, though. If it wasn't for the world map made with Topographer I would probably never find my way back after my searches for sheep and jungle trees.

    Although you can ofc place a dirt tower every twenty blocks you walk, with arrows pointing in the direction of the town. Then you could just follow them back.

    Awesome guide, especially the buildings list. I like the part about themes/styles aswell, although when I build my Minecraft old/new buildings I usually build a log frame before I build the main plank/sand/stone wall. But then that's how I imagine the "inhabitants" build the house, first the log frame and then planks in between. I also like to think it's real trees which have been cut down, stripped of leaves, and attached to the frame.

    The point is that I prefer to design houses and such with building methods in mind, sometimes I don't use a design because it would be too much trouble to build if it would be build "as for real"(as you would do IRL with the technology of the town/village/city you're building)

    This is really awesome, and now, after about half a year, I finally have time to do it...

    Just found a really good spot to build at, although I haven't found any sheep so far, plus I can't use shears so I suspect I'll have to wait a while before I can finish stage one...

    I just installed this on my laptop(not sure of specs, but I can run skyrim on normal graphics without lag), and I get the "everything is grey-yellow except grass and leaves"-problem. I couldn't find anything on the wiki about how to solve it, just mentions a golden apple-bug, can anybody help?

    ...and @DarkHurricane_ he said that there is only the installer, and he will never release any other method.

    EDIT: It works now, all I had to do was to take forth a golden apple in creative mode, although shadows wont work(as mentioned in the wiki).

    Okay, I suppose I'll edit it then. Although with the remix-thingy I wondered if I could use it for private remixes, although I probably wont, when I think about it it is already great, I tried to include it in a private remix pack but it's just better by itself. With recoloured paintings :)

    I may already have commented here, can't remember, but either way this is just awesome, and in fact my favourite texture pack.

    But does the no-remix rule apply to replacing unfinished blocks in the pack with textures from other packs?

    EDIT: also, I'd like to see more decorations(banners,shields) in the same colour scheme, I like having one colour scheme per clan/settlement. Not that I can't draw my own, but from what I understand you dont like people remixing and editing the pack..

    EDIT#2: I really like what you've done with melons and cactus, brilliant idea with cabbage.
