Oneric posted a message on [1.6.4][Forge]The ultimate Nether Mod[SSP&SMP]Posted in: Minecraft ModsThe Ultimate Nether Mod
I really enjoyed working on this mod, but since I no longer have the time to keep it up to date, I will not be able to continue it. The source code of the last released version, as well as the beginning of a rewrite for Minecraft Release 1.10 are now publicly available on GitHub and may be used for your own mods. If you however decide you want to use the code to continue this mod, I will wish you good luck :).
Thanks to all users of the Ultimate Nether Mod for supporting me, it was fun.
Here's the source code of the last release:
1.6.4 Release: https://github.com/TheOneric/UNM_1.6.4
1.10 Rewrite [unfinished and aborted]: https://github.com/TheOneric/UNM
License and Modpacks:
With the release of the source code I relicensed the Mod to LGPLv3+ with Minecraft-exceptions for source code and CC-BY-SA 3.0+ for assets. All restrictions placed on eg modpacks that are not derived from those licenses (like the non-commercial clause) are now lifted. This also affects older releases. You are free to choose the original conditions or the ones laid out in LGPL-with-MC-exception and CC-BY-SA.
Original Post, while mod was active (formatting messed up by edits):

FAQ:
Question: I got errors when walking to a Blackstone Biome / specific place on the map. Why ? Answer: Check your config file and make sure that the Blackstone ID is smaller the 255. Question: After a few hours the mod stopped working, WTF ? Answer: In the most case you have the problem mentioned one question above. If you are too near to such an biome the Game will crash everytime when you entered the world. Best try to join an old world, where the Mod wasn't installed. There can't be such an biome near to you. Question: I got an error when respawning with this Mod. Why ? How can I fix it ? Answer: Under the download link there is a Link to an other Archive. Download this an merge it with th e mod together. More detailed step by step solution : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1457638-147forgethe-ultimate-nether-mod/page__st__60#63 Question: I updated the Modto 1.5.1 and now my world in the Dimesnion "Fallen Sky" is deleted, why ? Answer : I changed the Name of the Save-Folder to "FallenSky". Just rename the old Save Folder. ( %appdata% \ .minecraft \ saves \ YourWorldNameHere \ FallenSky ) Question: How can I make alternate textures for this mod ? And will it be linked here ? Answer: You can find a description how to make alternate textures below the FAQ. And if you wish, I will link it here, description waht to do to get it linked is below the FAQ too. Question: I got an Error with the "Enter Hell Achievement" D: ? Answer: Disable achievements in the config. Question: I've got an Error Report with : " Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Oneric/MNC/client/MNCRenderPlayerBase " Answer: You have to install Player Render API
How to make / use alternate Textures :
How to make it :
1. Download the Mod.
2. Open the zip - Archive with WinRar or 7zip.
3. Copy all folders(not files) except the "Oneric" folder outside the archive.
4. Download and install a Texture Programm like Gimp or Photoshop, if you don't already have one.
5. In these folders are all textures, you can now start edit the Textures or create new ones in another size (but remember it have to be a Minecraft size (power of two) ).
6. Pack this folders with the new textures to a new zip - Archive.
Note: You must change more than just one or two textures before I accept it as alternate textures.
What to do to get it linked here in the OP:
1. Follow the "How to make it" steps.
2. Upload your zip - Archive to an mirror, mediafire.com is the recommend one.
3. Optional : Create an banner for your textures and upload it to pic-upload.de or an similar website.
4. Send me an PN with the Link of the zip - Archive and the banner.
5. If you have done everything correct I will link it here, if not I will send you a message why it isn't linked ( contains the "Oneric folder" / renaming folders |--> isn't working anymore / etc )
6. Everytime the Mod Updates and there are new textures you have to update your textures or the link
will be removed.
How to use alternate textures:
1. Download the Textures of your choice.
Then:
If you wish to use it with a normal Minecraft - Texturepack :
2. Go to your texturepack folder.
3. Open the Archive from the texturepack you want to use.
4. Copy all the Contents from the Alternate Textures into the Archive from the Texturepack.
5. Enjoy your new textures.
If you wish to use it with the default Minecraft textures:

SCMowns posted a message on Trio Gems Mod -Revived- V2 - Download link updated 2023Posted in: Minecraft ModsSince something terrible has happened to the old forum post, it looked all messed up...
I decided to remake the forum from scratch again, (this weekend when I have time)
So here's a cheap preview of the trio gems mod!

Join our Discord for info and other fun nonsense https://discord.gg/zfPBhpq
This mod is now hosted on Curseforge: all new and old version are there
What is usefulDNS?? This is a simple mod design to help you get things in minecraft that you couldn't normally get. This mod adds recipes to craft normally un-craftable items along with other new items to get those pesky minecraft items that are hard to get your hands on. All info is below
Now you might ask what is DNS. DNS is a modpack called the DNS Techpack. I am the current author of that pack. I started to see I wanted ways of getting certain things faster as with mods what was end game items in vanilla are needed much more in modded MC. I saw many mods that added little things here and there, but instead of adding tons of mods to the pack I made this one.
This a very simple (noob) mod. This will be released in the pack and not much else fuss made about it. I figured maybe someone else would like this recipes and want this mod without the whole pack. I also wanted a place to send people asking about this mod and a place for the recipes Alot of things are planned for it and will be added whenever I get the time. So here we go
NOTICE: All these recipes may change, I need help deciding them, LEAVE ME FEEDBACK PLEASES
Minecraft 1.7.10 Version
Everything from the 1.6.4 version made it to 1.7.10 EXCEPT the swiss army knife. But there are new tools to replace
the SAK for now.
Most of the new Items are just used for crafting other objects. And the main thing is more tools
Unobtainium Armor - VERY VERY STRONG ARMOR. Also comes with enchants.
Tweaks:
I have made some tweaks to blocks and items from older versions
P-Stone: Now, Finally, stays in the crafting table. It also takes damage, it has 500 uses.
DecaNySodium Tools: The usages went down. 1500 uses
New Items:
Most of these things, us NEI to find recipes.
Cones: used for crafting
Transistor: used in crafting
EOS Circuits (gold & Diamond): used for crafting
Lightning Rod: Used for crafting
Steel Hammer: Hammer that crushes resources into plates
Plates (Steel, gold, Diamond): used in crafting
Advanced Diamond Plate: Stronger plate used for crafting
Steel:
Raw Steel: iron and coal mixture. Smelt to get steel ingot
Steel Ingot: New resource used in many usefuldDNS items.
usefulDNS book: Right click with the book and it will open this page for info
Unobtainium: Magical and STRONG as hell material used to craft tools
BLOCKS:
Block of Steel: 9 DNS gems
Block of DNS: 9 steel ingotsBLOCKS:
Unobtainium Block: 9 ingots of unobtainium.
Unobtainium Crafter: The way you attain Unobtainium
Unobtainium Furnace: A furnace that is used to cook Unobtainium Mixture
Unobtainium Mixture: A mixture of steel and DecaNySodium gems to make the Mixture.
To get the actual Unobtaiumium ingots - make all the above and right click on the Furnace with the mixture in your hand
this is auto smelt the mixture into unobtainium ingots and place in your inventory.
Unobtainium Tools:
There are four tools, sword, ax, pickax, and shovel.
There are very strong and mine very fast. The Sword and Ax already come with buffs.
If you want the buffs (which you really do) on the pickax and shovel you need to place them in a crafting grid with a block of diamond and it will apply the buffs. So people don't like tools that mine that fast so I left them off and added a way to put them on there if you want. The sword and ax are not that noticeable or used that much for it to make a difference.MineCraft 1.6.4 Version ONLY
New Items
Philosopher's Stone - This is basically the Philosopher's Stone for EE3. It does SIMPLE transmutations. Its need for something I will be working on. It doesnt do everything the orginal does. If it gets updated to the way I like then this will be removed. Its just here for now. Crafting recipe below. In game with NEI hover over the stone and press U and see what all it does. More to come later
What it works on his here http://imgur.com/a/Nj5x5
Ground Flesh- Put rotten flesh into a crafting table to get Ground Flesh. This ground flesh can be cooked in a furnace to get People Burgers (ewww)
People Burgers:
This food can heal 6 meatbars of hunger but will give you slowness for 10 seconds because, well,..... you're eating cooked dead people...... These burgers can also be cooked into leather if you need it.
Mixed XP:
This is a way to craft XP ingame. It will take a few resources but at some point you may need XP in a pinch and now you can get it. Heres howFirst Craft this:
Next take said Mixed XP and glass bottle and craft
Ropes:
Ropes are made for early game play as a way to climb around and used in some recipes. These work the same way as ladders so go crazy
Raw Iron:
Raw Iron is dropped from Fool's Iron, It can be smelted into iron ingots
World Gen
All kinds of new things here also some old favs. Lets start with them
Fools Gold - This ore looks just like Gold ore. It spawns in 2-7 block groups and spawns up to and a little beyond water level. It drops GOLD NUGGETS. its a little mean, but you can get some more gold this way. This block is more of a joke block then anything.
Pumpkin and Melon Grass -
This grass spawn regularly through the world. They have a small percentage chance to spawn from bonemeal. They drop melon or pumpkin seeds depending which plant it is.
Fool's Iron:
The name makes you think its not a good thing but it is! This ore spawns about as much as diamond but in chunks 2-9 blocks thick. It looks just like iron but drops raw iron. This ore drops 3 raw iron per blockIdea behind the ore: With all the tech mods out there and all of them requiring iron the default world doesnt spawn enough IF you're using a lot of tech mods, this evens it out a tiny bit.
Fossils:
These blocks are rare and drop 3 bones per block. Hopefully this will get you bone meal a little faster in the start of the world, I know I always need it in the beginning but dont have the tools to fight off skeletons over and over at first.
DecaNySodium Ore:
DecaNySodium (Deck-a-NI-so-D-umm) is our ore, every mod seems to have them, It drops decahysodium gems or DNS gems. These are used to craft tools.
Tools
All these tools use our DNS Gem and are craft like normal tools. They are based off the old Redpower tools. They harvest like diamond but only have 1500 uses. They all have a bump in damage to mobs. Sword being the highest with 12 damage.
Swiss Army Knife:
The swiss army knight is the newest tool and the one I love the most. Its a multi tool. It can harvest as well if not better then diamond with the same speed and ability. BUT if you hit a mod its the same as your fist, that the trade of, keep a sword handy.
Useful Recipes
This is what the mod was built for. All the new recipes to get things that are normally hard to attain. Grass, obsidian, and bucket to iron are shapeless recipesMinecraft 1.6.2 Version ONLY
New Items:
Ground Flesh- Put rotten flesh into a crafting table to get Ground Flesh. This ground flesh can be cooked in a furnace to get People Burgers (ewww)
People Burgers:
This food can heal 3 meatbars of hunger but will give you slowness for 10 seconds because, well,..... you're eating cooked dead people...... These burgers can also be cooked into leather if you need it.
Next we have the Gift of Life:
This item will bring life to things. Its main purpose is use in recipes. Heres how its made
Dwarf Star - This item can be crafted and then smelted into a nether star. This only came to be because some seem to think if their recipe needs to be hard it needs many nether stars. thats about it.
World Gen:
Fools Gold - This ore looks just like Gold ore. It spawns in 2-7 block groups and spawns up to and a little beyond water level. It drops GOLD NUGGETS. its a little mean, but you can get some more gold this way. This block is more of a joke block then anything.Pumpkin and Melon Grass - This grass spawn regularly through the world. They have a small percentage chance to spawn from bonemeal. They drop melon or pumpkin seeds depending which plant it is.
Useful Recipes:
Kinda explains it self, Recipes Below. Only two thing to note are now flint and steal are unshaped recipes and you can craft fire for chain armor
Craftable Hostile Mobs: 1.6.2 ONLY
There is only hostile mobs for now, animals are coming soon. Its not every hostile there is but most of them. More to come (WIP) The Gift of Life is required for all recipesSpotLights:

License and Modpacks:
This mod was built for a modpack. So go for it.
As far as a License here it is. THERE IS NO LICENSE. I hate licenses, Do whatever you want with this mod. I really dont care. I didnt make this or anything else I make for Minecraft to try to take it away from people. I dont believe in holding mods hostage. I ask that you steal it, call it your own, add it to modpacks and whatever else you can think of. If you ask for this to be included in a modpack then no you cant have it. Just take it and dont ask. Thank you and I love you.

No flashy images, no 'crazy deals', just simple Minecraft and server hosting. There are no limits on our server hosting other than RAM, you can do whatever you would like.
Team
We are a team of enthusiasts, mostly college students, with a background in computer technology looking to bring you the best in hosting. We have people on standby during the day and most of the night to answer support tickets, usually within the hour.
Network
We host our Minecraft servers on hardware provided by OVH. This used to be frowned upon, people who did this were called 'resellers' and were seen as amateurish for no good reason. OVH provides the best hardware on the best network. When it comes to reliability and stability they cannot be beat. By hosting with OVH we ensure your Minecraft server has 99.9% uptime, absolute DDoS protection, and great speeds.
Hardware / Software
We use Intel Xeon E3-1245v2 servers with 32GB of memory. This is an ideal CPU power to RAM ratio for game servers such as Minecraft. For storage we use SSDs, not the old mechanical drives of the past. We utilize the Multicraft Panel so customers are able to do almost anything they want with their server.
Pricing / Order
Our pricing is simple for Minecraft Hosting; $3.50/GB with considerable discounts for ordering quarterly, semi annually, and annually.
If you want to check out our Minecraft plans you can click here.
We also offer a selection of dedicated servers for the more technical userhere.

TheTrollguy_ posted a message on Traffic Stuff Mod [1.9/1.10] [SIDEWALKS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, SIGNS, POLES AND MORE!!!]
Traffic Stuff Mod adds various blocks to make in-game roads more realistic. It adds fully functional traffic lights, cones, barriers, sidewalks and more in the future. Version 3.0.0 is actually it's first official release, which means this mod is very new and will get regural updates. It is made for Minecraft 1.9/1.10 and versions for 1.8.9 and below aren't planned nor supported.
Traffic lights work just like in real life - THEY SWITCH COLORS!!! You can either place them vertically or horizontally [PRESS CONTROL] and then add some poles around them and voilà!
[/header]
Did one of your friends just fall in the whole you dug to the bedrock just to find diamonds but then epically failed and now the whole is just at a random place in the world? Well fear no more (not you, your friend (if you have one)) as this mod adds cones. Marks those long holes with cones. You can either place them in the center of the block, on the edge [PRESS SHIFT] or in the corner of the block [PRESS CONTROL]! They also come in 5 colors!!!
Did a creeper just explode on the road and people are blind so they can't see those bloody cones, well you now have barriers! They connect to each other like fences and help you making barriers to isolate yourself from those nasty creatures. They come in 3 variants.
We all know we can make those medieval-age-looking-like paths in Minecraft but none of us thinks those are cool in cities. If you think so, I gotcha fam. These sidewalks look like real life sidewalks and come in 16 different heights [PRESS CONTROL AND SCROLL UP OR DOWN] and someone told me if you PRESS SHIFT they change somehow. I don't know how, but you should definitely check it out.
Traffic Stuff Mod comes with 2 creative tabs - one for sidewalk blocks and the other for traffic stuff. It also features a Version Checker - every time you play you will be notified whether the version you're playing is up to date or not. The mod does not include crafting recipes so it's a creative-only mod but they are planned.
Latest version: Traffic Stuff Mod [3.0.0]:

Tmtravlr posted a message on Creeper Spleef - 1.9 Minigame map by Tmtravlr!
Hi everyone!
This is a minigame map which I made with some friends!
The instructions are simple, as seen ingame:
As well as some other options, there are a few different maps you can choose! Here is a sample:
Creeper Face:
Islands:
Fortress Defence:
Glass Forest:
Highway (After a game has been played on it):
So hang around, sit in the chairs in the lobby, then knock all your friends out of the arena with creepers!
If you are setting up a server with this minigame, here are a few important things to note:
- Command blocks must be enabled.
- Spawn protection must be off.
- The starting gamemode must be adventure or survival.

Videos:
None for the current version!
Older Verisons:
By WSOT, me (Tmtravlr), and Old One.

And yes, I should mention that there was a map named Creeper Spleef from AdventureCraft many years ago, and quite a few other maps with that name as well. The name may not be unique, but hopefully you enjoy it regardless! =)

Tehpillowstar posted a message on Catching up with other StaffPosted in: Off topic, testing and misc. chatHey, it's me, Tehpillowstar.
I joined the moderation staff back in March 2011. For those bad at math, that was almost five years ago. I was fourteen years old back then, and now I'm nineteen just beginning the rest of my life.
That's a lot of time, and a lot has happened since then. I'm interested in getting introduced to new faces that got brought into the fold after I dropped off the Minecraft Forum grid here, along with getting caught up with the ins and outs and ups and downs with familiar faces that happened during the past few years.
I'd love to to talk more about what's going on with me, but unfortunately it's past midnight and I have a class I gotta get up early for tomorrow, so I'll write up a post explaining about what happened to me another time.
So, what's going on with you guys?

SoBiohazardous posted a message on Minestrappolation 3.0 - A Complete Vanilla Overahaul!Posted in: Minecraft ModsTHREAD UPDATE
This mod has officially been updated here.
Minestrappolation - An Extrapolation of Vanilla Minecraft.
NewsSeptember 21, 2014
Okay, big 3.3 update! Stone galore! Hopefully, we've ironed out all the major bugs by 3.3.1.1 - _-
August 5th, 2014
Versions 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 are released! 3.2.0 came with plenty of bugfixes, as well as a BUNCH of new features, and 3.2.1 comes with bugfixes for all the bugs we created in 3.2.0.
July 21st, 2014
Minestrappolation 3 is out!!!!! It's a good 80% less buggy than the last version, and contains a TON of new features! Download is at the bottom of the fancy new thread!
Overview
Minestrappolation is a massive mod designed for one purpose: to add useful and interesting gameplay content, while still maintaining the feel and aesthetic of Vanilla Minecraft. While the actual content of the mod varies from anything from Ores to Mob Loot, almost every item and block has been specifically designed to feel like something that could be added to Vanilla Minecraft. The mod is over 1 year in the making, but it's still a MASSIVE work in progress. We have a LOT of content planned, and we hope to continue to update and expand on the mod until we have most of it added.
Due to the sheer amount of content in the mod, trying to figure out exactly how to use it all can be rather overwhelming. The mod contains a multitude of features, ranging from regenerative armor to hazardous radioactive materials, limitless bounds of decor blocks to hallucinogenic Ghast tentacles, and new food items to world-shattering explosives. However, despite the vast array of content added by the mod, almost all of it can be separated into one of three major categories: Ores, Decor, and Mob Loot. Below are some basic feature overviews for each of these three categories.
Early-Game
One of the goals of Minestrappolation's Ore content is to add a few more distinct gameplay tiers to the game, and this starts from the moment you enter the world. Throughout our playtesting, we've realized that the Wood tier of tools is one of Vanilla Minecraft's few weak points. The only purpose that Wooden Tools serve is to get stone tools, after which point they are nothing but a waste of inventory space. Thus, we've added an alternate option for beginning-game tools: Sandstone Tools! These can be crafted just how you could expect, and have slightly worse stats than Stone Tools. However, their main benefit is that, since Sandstone can be crafted with 4 Sand, these tools allow the player to bypass Wood Tools entirely, speeding up your gameplay progression significantly, assuming you are fortunate enough to spawn near a Sand deposit.
If you've managed to get a starting Pickaxe, but can't seem to find any Iron, Minestrappolation has that covered, too. There are now multiple early-game tool tiers, including Copper and Slate, which are readily available as an alternative to Stone Tools at the beginning of the game. However, unlike Stone Tools, some of these new tool tiers can still be useful later on in the game, if you don't feel like wasting your precious materials on durability-intensive tasks like quarry-mining.
Mid-Game Tiers
In addition to filling the early-game tool tier gap, Minestrappolation also covers the blatantly massive tool tier gap between Iron and Diamond tools. Minestrappolation adds 10 new Tool materials, 5 of which compose the "Middle-Tier" between Iron and Diamond Tools. Some of these tools are crafted with normal Ore-smelted Ingots, while others are crafted with alloys of other existing Ingots, but each tier has a set of unique stats, and, occasionally, special properties, such as being able to ignite blocks by right-clicking them, or having tools that can block like Swords.
More Reason for Cave Exploration
Like our other mod, Elemental Caves (see the bottom of this post for a link), Minestrappolation aims to make cave-exploration in Minecraft more worthwhile. Minestrappolation's Ores segment adds 9 new Ores to the Overworld, and an additional 2 to the Nether. While some are used solely for Tools and Armor, others are used for various other purposes, such as the Overworld light block, Sunstone, or the useful but deadly Plutonium and Uranium.
As of 3.3.0, Minestrappolation now replaces all stone with their respective biome type stone, and respective depth-biome type stone. Their ores are also replaced to match their texture.
More End-Game Content
Ever get to that point in your Minecraft world where you have nothing left to do? The Ender Dragon is dead, your house is walled with Beacons, and you've automated nearly every item in the game? Minestrappolation strives to fix this problem as well. The mod adds plenty of "late" late game content, and even gives you a few actual goals to strive for. Try to craft a piece of holy Godstone, so that you can smite the undead, even at night. Obtain enough Bedrock to craft a Bedrock Pickaxe (yes, Bedrock is minable with Minestrapp installed). Or even just obtain a ton of Uranium and Plutonium, craft it all into Nukes, destroy everything you've ever built with them, and try to survive in the smouldering crater! If Minestrappolation can't permanently end your end-game boredom, it will at least delay it by several explosions.
More Building Blocks
In the Decor section of the mod, our main goal is, of course, to add decor! And what better way to do so, than with 300+ new building blocks? One of the core features of Minestrappolation's decorative enhancements is the new Stonecutter block; a Crafting Table-like utility block that allows you to cut ANY stone-based block in the game into ANY other basic decorative variant. Can you cut Nether Quartz Bricks? Yes. Can you cut Stone Pillars? yes. Can you cut Netherrack Slabs? Yes. For just about any stone-based block you can imagine, Minestrapp adds anywhere from 8 to 15 new decorative variants of it -- ensuring you will never again run out of new materials to build with.
And if ludicrous amounts of stone-based building blocks wasn't enough for you, Minestrappolation also covers a much-needed addition to Minecraft's basic decorative blocks; Wood varieties. Each type of Wood can now be crafted into Boards, Panels, Beveled Panels, Mossy Boards, Mossy Planks, and various other varieties, using Minestrapp’s new Carpenter’s Bench crafting block. Just because you're not a fan of quarry mining, doesn't mean you should be limited to building your house out of only Wood Planks. The Carpenter’s Bench also replaces a number of wood-based Vanilla recipes such as Beds and Doors, meaning that you actually have to survive and gather materials for a while before you can make your cozy, monster-proof house.
Utility Decor
But, of course, Minestrappolation's decor segment would be no better than the common "NEW DECOR BLOCKS LOLZ" mod if all it added was basic building blocks. Which is why we've added a number of actually useful new decorative blocks, which not only look nice, but can greatly assist you in your survival world. Tired of rummaging through Chests for Potions? Store your Potions, Water, and Milk in beautifully-modeled Goblets. Find carrying slabs of meat in your pockets a bit gross? Store all your foodstuffs on stylish golden Plates. Hate that you can't open Chests when there's a block over them? Try storing your goods in compact, stack-able Barrels. From easy-removal scaffolding to Ladders that don't require a block behind them, Minestrappolation attempts to fix almost every common Minecraft household problem.
Item Storage
Of course, with all the new items and blocks added by this mod, you'll probably be running a little low on storage space. Fortunately, the Minestrappolation thought of that, too. The mod's decor section also provides decorative storage blocks for various Vanilla items that should have been compressable from the get-go. Pave a shimmering, white beach out of Sugar Blocks! Compress all your useless Flint into blocks, and then cut them into decorative Bricks and Pillars! Make a meat castle! The possibilities are (somewhat) endless!
Additional Food Sources
Ever get one of those garbage seeds where you spawn in a place with no animals except Sheep? And do you then proceed to starve to death and regret everything you've ever done? Well consider that little gameplay issue fixed! Almost every passive mob in the game now drops a food item of some sort, making early-game food sources much less aggravating to find. Additionally, several of these new food sources also have side benefits, such as giving the player various beneficial Potion effects, or dropping Animal Bones after being eaten.
Making Previously Worthless Mobs Useful
Do you have problems with Bats? Of course you do. If it's not the squeaking or flapping that gets to you, it's the fact that, after spending 20 minutes trying to kill one, the realization that they drop nothing at all is absolutely soul-crushing. Fortunately, Minestrapp's Mob Loot section gives you PLENTY of reason to kill every Bat, Squid, Horse, or any other small, woodland creature that tries to get in your way.
Strange New Item Mechanics
Ever wondered what would happen if you chopped off a Ghast's Tentacle and ate it like Calamari? Curious as to whether or not other animals' feet are as lucky as Rabbits' Feet? With Minestrappolation's Mob Loot content, you can answer all of life's odd questions. So chow down on that gross, white, Ghast limb. Maybe it'll give you superpowers! Or maybe it will just make you have hallucinations about the Nether...

FAQ
Q: "Does this mod work with ___?"A: Unless it’s NEI, I have no idea! We haven't tested the mod with many others yet, so the best way to find out is by trying it yourself. If it IS Not Enough Items that you’re wondering about, though, then yes! Minestrappolation contains full NEI support, allowing you to view all of the Crafting, Cutting, Melting, Plating, and Milling recipes added by the mod.
Q: "Can you add support for ___ mod?"A: Eventually. We're barely able to keep our own mods updated as it is, so adding support for other mods is VERY low priority at the moment.
Q: "Why can't I craft ___?"A: A lot of Vanilla Crafting recipes have been removed and replaced with Carpenter Bench and Stonecutter recipes in order to keep everything consistent. This mostly only applies to stone and wood-based decor blocks, but it also applies to a few other Vanilla blocks, such as Anvils, Beds, or Doors. If you have any questions as to how to cut something on the Stonecutter or mill something on the Carpenter’s Bench, I recommend experimenting with it yourself, but you can also consult the Features List linked above, which contains every crafting, cutting, and milling recipe.
Q: "It crashed."A: First, try updating Forge to the latest version and see if it fixes it. If that doesn't work, give us the full crash report, as well as a description of what exactly you were doing when it crashed. Without those two things, it is VERY unlikely that we can fix your crash.

Thanks for the reply. I am still around and modding, however this mod hasn't gotten very much love over the years. I started work on "More Swords 3" which is a conceptual remake to make the mod more fun and interesting, however this remake has taken a lot longer than I expected. I've recently announced in an update to the main thread that I will be working on More Swords: Legacy, which will be a direct port of the existing version for those who have nostalgia for the current version of the mod. I am hoping to release Legacy some time before the end of June. It will be released on CurseForge, and I will be announcing the update on Twitter when it happens.

I am really sad to hear that the forums will be archived and closed soon. This place played a really important part of my teenage years, and is also partly responsible for me pursuing my interests in software development.
Thanks to everyone for the memories.

Hello everyone o/
With the Minecraft Forums going into an archived state, I felt it was fitting to leave you all with one last update. To start things off, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who used my mods and took a chance on them. I started modding just over 9 years ago, with More Swords being the first one I released publicly. Back then I was a young kid with no programming experience. I've since grown a lot as both a person and a developer. I believe that modding and the Minecraft Forums are both partly responsible for me pursuing the field of Software development, and I am very thankful for that.
Before I end this farewell, I want to announce More Swords: Legacy, which is a new and upcoming project I will be releasing. Legacy is going to be a faithful remake of More Swords 2 for newer versions of the game, along with support for mods like Just Enough Items, and Enchantment Descriptions. I changed a lot of things in More Swords 3, to balance the mod and make the content more interesting. While I stand by those changes and plan to continue working on it, I also understand that some of you just want the nostalgia of the original version. I will be releasing this project to CurseForge when it is ready, and I will be announcing it on Twitter.
If you would like to continue following me and my projects, I have a Twitter and a public Discord server. You can also find all of my mods on CurseForge.
So long everyone, it's been a good run. o/
More Swords Mod provides a magnificent chain of lustrous new swords that expound upon the foundation of Minecraft weaponry. Razor sharp swords of magic as well as stronger, more practical blades!

Ender Pulse: This enchantment will warp the player where they are looking when used. This effect has a range of 18 blocks per level. This enchantment will damage the item by 50 points every time it is used. The player will also take 1 damage in fall damage. This enchantment has a level cap of three and can only be naturally applied to the Eye End Sword.
Ender Aura: This enchantment has a 15% chance of activating when the player is hit. When activated the player will warp to a random mob within 30 blocks. This mob may not always be friendly. If no mob is found then the effect will be canceled. This enchantment has a level cap of one and can only be naturally applied to the Eye End Sword.
Greed: This enchantment has a 7% chance, multiplied by the effect level, to drop 1-3 extra points of exp when a mob is hit. This effect has a level cap of 3 and can only be naturally applied to the Crystalline Blade.
Wisdom: This enchantment does nothing, I accidently broke it. :/
Frozen Aspect: This enchantment will slow damaged mobs for 3 seconds per level. This effect has a level cap of three and can only be naturally applied to the Glacial Blade.
Frost Wave: This enchantment will slow mobs within 2.5 blocks of the target mob for 1.5 seconds. The target mob and the user will not be frozen however nearby players will feel the effect. This enchantment has a level cap of one and can only be applied naturally to the Glacial Blade.
Ascension: This enchantment will propel targeted mobs upwards into the air. Hit the mob before it hits the ground to make increase the launch aspect of the effect exponential amount. This enchantment has a level cap of three and can only be applied naturally to the Aether's Guard.
Descension: This enchantment will cause the player to fall at a much slower rate than normal. To activate the effect press and hold shift. This enchantment has a level cap of one can can only be applied naturally to the Aether's Guard.
Consuming Shadows: This enchantment will blind the target mob for 1.5 seconds. There is also a 12% chance that the wither effect will be applied for a second. The values for this effect are increased with every level. This enchantment has a level cap of three and can only be applied naturally to the Wither's Bane.
Decay: This enchantment will apply the wither effect to the target mob for just under 4 seconds. This enchantment has a level cap of one and can only be applied naturally to the Wither's Bane.
Stealth: This enchantment will cause the player to become invisible when activated. Unlike the potion of invisibility this effect will not give off particles and has no time limit or duration. To toggle this on or off simply right click with the sword. It's worth noting that swords and armor will still be visible while this effect is enabled. This effect has a level cap of one but can not be obtained naturally and is linked with the Adminium Ark.
Extinction: This enchantment will kill all mobs on the map that are an instance of the target mob. For exam ple if you break a vanilla boat using this effect, all vanilla boats on the map should be deleted. This effect will not target players. This effect has a level cap of one but can not be obtained naturally and is linked with the Adminium Ark
Q: Does this mod work on servers?
A: Yes this mod is designed to work with the client, lan and server in mind. It should also work with Cauldron.
Q: I am getting a crash with this mod, what should I do?
A: Please make a comment containing a copy the logs and upload them to a text sharing site like hastebin, or alternatively paste it in a forum spoiler. Sadly Minecraft and modding in general is not as stable as we would all like and these types of issues come up every now and then.
Q: Can you add a sword or enchantment that does _____________?
A: I am constantly looking for new ideas that can be added to the mod. If you have a suggestion feel free to leave a comment with your idea.

This mod requires Minecraft Forge, NEI and Waila to run.
Documentation:
Due to the extensive amount of features included within Wawla, I have had to move documentation over to my own website. My site is frequently being updated with the new features, and will reflect the features within the mod as soon as updates are released.
Questions and Answers:
Q: What does this mod do?
A: This mod is an addon for Waila. The purpose of this mod, and Waila, is to give players a tooltip which contains information about the block the player is currently looking at. These mods can be extremely helpful when playing with a heavily modded minecraft modpack. Due to the enormous amount of features within Wawla, I have had to move documentation to my own website.
Q: Will this mod work on servers?
A: Both Wawla and Waila take advantage of client and server code. If Wawla is installed on your server, users that use the Wawla mod will receive much more accurate information. Wawla is a client-side optional mod, meaning that if it is installed on your server, players will not need it to connect, however they will need it if they want to use the features it provides.
Q: When on a server some information is wrong or missing, what's wrong?
A: This is an issue related to how data is synchronized in minecraft. When a player is on a server, the only data given to that player is what the server considers necessary. Because of this, some information may be missing or wrong, if the server does not have this mod installed.
Q: Can you add support for the _______ mod / Can you add _______ feature?
A: I would love to add more support and features. If you have a suggestion make sure to leave it in the comments and I will see what I can do!
Q: What is your stance on mod packs?
A: Please read my section on modpacks.

It's been such a long time since I've checked this place out! So many old faces, and also a lot of new ones x)
For those who haven't met me, or just don't remember, I was 15 when I joined as a moderator for the mapping and modding section in late 2013. I retired in late 2016, almost on the same day I joined! I retired for a few reasons, the biggest being the trouble of balancing life, school, all my mods, and moderating.
A surprising amount has happened in the year or so since I retired. I've launched roughly 25 new mods on CurseForge, and it has basically become my full time job. I've also helped build MCModDev (MMD) Discord server, which currently has over 1700 members. A lot of my work with MMD overlaps what I regularly do with mod development, so It's surprisingly not as big of a time drain as I thought it would be, although it has it's rough spots.
The biggest change of all though, is probably Jared. Him and I started dating seven months ago. I normally don't do long term or serious relationships, in fact this is my first one. So it's all new and weird lol. He's a modder like me, he maintains CraftTweaker and ModTweaker mostly, but also does a bunch of misc stuff. He was once pretty active on here so some of you may know him, wouldn't surprise me if he had an infraction or two ;p

There are currently no hooks allowing you to put your plant in the vanilla flower pot. LexManos has suggested before that this will likely never be added to Forge. As for the model, you need to change the render type. Look in the class of any block which uses that model, and search for something like getRenderType which returns an integer. This is used to change block models in 1.7.10.

Most people dig out the floor of the spawner and place water blocks there. You can use flowing water to push the zombies into a single location. From there, most people will create a water elevator that lifts the mobs up 22-23 blocks and then drop them down. Mobs will automatically jump if they are in water, so if you have a pattern of water and air/sign blocks you can get them to float up without suffocating them. The point of the drop is that it lowers their health to 1 to 2 health, allowing you to hit them with a sword for exp and drops. There are other designs where people use potions of healing or tnt to kill the zombies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you use tutorials.darkhax.net and not the Minecraft Forums?
While the Minecraft Forums has an editor with a lot of features, it lacks some features that are essential to my tutorials. These features being the ability to add code highlights, and the ability to add raw HTML into my posts. The forum editor can also be unreliable if you edit your post a bunch of times. Using my own site also allows me to track how many readers I have, and get a rough idea of what countries they are from.
I have an idea for a tutorial, can you please make it?
I am definitely open to suggestions for tutorials, however it takes a fair bit of time to research and write each tutorial. I also want to avoid basic tutorials like "How to make a new Item" or "How to make a new Stair Block". Another thing I want to avoid is highly specific tutorials that would only be useful to a few people. If you are looking for a tutorial on something weird and new, I am definitely the right person to ask.
What are some of the mods you have worked on?
I currently have an extremely long list of mods that I have worked on, but I do have a few which may be noticeable. Wawla is an addon for Waila and Enchanting Plus which is a new approach to the enchantment table. I also make a few random mods like Additional Banners which adds some new banner designs and Tesla which is a modern approach to a cross mod power API.
How can I help you?
The best way you can help me out is by sharing my tutorials with your friends. By using links to my site in forum post responses and social media you help improve the ranking of my site in various search engines. The more traffic my site gets, the easier it will be to maintain and cover the associated costs. Another way to help me out is to add darkhax.net to your adblock white-list if you use one. The ads on my site are meant to be unobtrusive and family safe. If you really want to support me you can sponsor me on Patreon.
Special Note
If my tutorials help you with your mod, please consider sending me some screenshots of what you added. I is very encouraging as a tutorial writer to directly see how my tutorials are impacting the community. I have already received a few screenshots and shutouts on Twitter and it really fills me with determination. <3

I didn't bring this up earlier, perhaps I should have though. While it's nice to use Curse Voice because it's an in house product, I personally much prefer Discord. While Curse's info-graphic shows Curse as being the better option, we all know that it is highly biased, and doesn't accurately represent any of the alternatives.
While it might be selfish for me to complain about, using Curse Voice for forum communication has been a very negative experience so far. I honestly believe that using IRC was much more efficient.I already have the Curse Voice app installed because of my projects on CurseForge, however I have been trying to use it as little as I possibly can.

MCreator is very limiting in terms of what it will allow you to do. You can probably create this effect by writing the code yourself, however the redstone wire code is in no way simple. If you want to do something complex like redstone wire you should learn how to code and write the mod yourself. If you insist on using MCreator, you will have much better luck using their forums.
