They need to be fixed so that they are less bugged, obviously, but otherwise are fine item-wise. And we definitely don't need naturally spawning brewing stands, that would take away a reason to go to the Nether.
Yeah, we probably wouldn't get much this week, seeing as it's less than a month until the Pretty Scary Update launches. Mostly bug fixing, plus finishing up Witches, possibly improving fishing, possibly Dinnerbone's naked mob, and probably a few more tiny features. I can wait.
Give me an objective reasoning why the players who don't like the way the developers change their own game cannot utilize the compromise option to keep the game the way they want?
Why stifle change and progress? Minecraft is beginning to look better and better, why stop that?
I wouldn't exactly call these texture changes "progress", but if someone were to make a texture pack that just used vanilla textures with the classic-looking items, then I would have no problems using it, since it would still look the same. But until then, I will support this thread's reasoning.
While I agree the OP is a bit aggressive in his responses, I back his suggestion fully. It does make the items harder to focus on for me, and besides that, it kinda takes away the whole 16-bit feel of it. When you are working with small, pixelated items, the border is very necessary.
As for the posts regarding the use of texture packs, why would you say that? The OP, and others including me, do not want to use them. We like the vanilla texture for the game, with the exception of these borderless items. They just don't fit.
Also, I would like to point out that the specific people who are getting aggressive now are fighting over pixels in a game. It's amazing what things humans can use to start fights.
I don't think the mod will ever get made, honestly. They haven't done ANYTHING with it for months now. Just give it up. And besides, Notch is working on the Sky Dimension.
Did you not find out that Notch's Sky Dimension is planned to be a sort of 'Dream World'? Go look at the wiki. There is still hope for the Aether.
Maybe you get Exp Orbs from killing something big, like a Dragon. When you consume the Orbs, you get a little higher attack or a bigger health bar. Notch did say he wants to add stuff to Minecraft that he sees in other games, and the new Skyrim game has a similar feature. And you know how much Notch loves Skyrim.

But these pies have been confusing, to say the least. They aren't very effective, and you can't place them like cakes. How are they useful?
