Sep 10, 2014Dannysauce posted a message on Microsoft Buying Minecraft?I like Microsoft and all but I really hope that Mojang does not sell out. One of the greatest things about Minecraft in my opinion, is that it was created by a small company. They put nearly all of their focus into this one game, and it has become hugely popular. They listen to their players and improve the game based on what we want, not necessarily just for their benefit.Posted in: News
I feel like if Microsoft bought Minecraft, it would definitely take a negative turn. -

For a second at the end, I honestly didn't recognize that was Notch. His beard is as much of a trademark as the Steve Skin haha

Strangely enough, he looks so much younger without the beard. But it is indeed a trademark.
Both of these are exactly what I was thinking. -

I will be skipping this~

So you're saying that because people might want to set off fireworks on occasion it means they don't care about actual gameplay?
lol.
Why do I even come to these forums?
Nuff said bob. -

Jul 22, 2012Dannysauce posted a message on Lawsuit Filed Against Mojang - This Time, For Obscure PatentWhat kind of stupid joke is this? Based off of how many people play Minecraft, a LOT of people are going to hate this guy and his company whether he succeeds or not. Millions of people.Posted in: News
But I love the way Notch said he will spend tons of money to make sure he doesn't get a cent. That is awesome!
This guy is just trying to make people hate him I guess. -

I really wish Mojang would post something about this SMP/SSP thing, and get all these complainers to SHUT UP! Theyre going to fix the lag if you give them a chance....
I dont think I can read these forums anymore because I just get so mad when people are complaining about something that Mojang has hardly touched on yet.
Yeah I don't really think so. I've never had a problem with any update until now so it's not like I'm someone who just complains about every update. This multiplayer singleplayer is a horrible idea and needs to be removed. -
May 12, 2012Dannysauce posted a message on Snapshot 12w19a is Ready For Testing!Posted in: NewsQuote from XelNigma
Any one else getting, for the lack of a better term, "lag issues" when playing single player?
Things like arrows comming out of your chest rather than the bow (also lacks the sparkle when you fire a fully drawn bow).
Your dogs falling through the ground when they follow you (seems to be just a graphical issue as they dont suffocate).
Enemy mobs hitting you before they should beable to, also they tind to "skip" around a little when moving.
And other things you often encounter when playing a server?
I really hope im not the only one.
Yep. Multiplayer has always been more laggy than singleplayer, even if you're the only one on the server. Now that singleplayer is multiplayer, it will probably always be laggy. -
May 12, 2012Dannysauce posted a message on Snapshot 12w19a is Ready For Testing! This new "multiplayer singleplayer" crap is stupid. If I wanted to play mutliplayer, I would. I want to play single player but it doesn't feel like it is. I love how it has a console so I can talk to myself and when I pause and want to log off, it says, "Disconnect". Probably the best one is when I want to spawn something via Toomanyitems, it spits it on the ground, just like multiplayer!! To even play SINGLEPLAYER I need to use Hamachi. How unnecessary is this I mean really. The reason Xbox multiplayer is the way it is, is because it's the only way multiplayer would work, plus it is greatly simplified this way. The computer version was completely fine before and we don't need this. This is the worst update ever and it's ridiculously stupid.Posted in: News
Now I start getting this pop up when I've been running Minecraft for a few minutes: net.minecaft.server.MinecraftSerer as an application. So I get to play SINGLEPLAYER with Hamachi and this open, taking up space in my dock now? That's lovely especially since this applet seems to be slowing down my computer quite a bit. Another thing I love: I was just kicked from my own SINGLEPLAYER world. I wanted to spawn some torches via TMI instead of a full stack. I kept right clicking and I probably clicked like 15 times. Then I get kicked for "spam". I even had to op myself in order to spawn items. Is this even my world anymore? I can't pause my own world anymore and therefore I can't manually save via pausing anymore. I have to type in the save command.
Yep you need to use Hamachi. Google it and install it. You will need to run it while you play Minecraft now. Isn't that wonderful?!Quote from James9270
I try to play a world... I get this: "Failed to connect to the server Connection refused: connect"
What the heck do I do?

Sorry for the delayed response.
That's very helpful information, thanks a lot!
I did actually try to use MCEdit for Mac. The application seemed to load just fine (I even tried the new and old versions) but within about 10 seconds of loading up the world, it would just crash. I may try to run it with windows on a virtual hard drive if I have some time to see if that will work. I'll do some more investigating with that thread you linked me to and see if I can work this out.
Thanks again!

I think I have backups from before I loaded up a newer version though. It may just take a bunch of time trying to find the correct version to load into, but I'm looking for any potential fixes from third party applications or just anything at all really.

I have a few worlds from like 4-5 years ago that I build tons of things on. One of them I just logged into for the first time in a few years and everything loaded properly. It was just a flat grass map.
The other one, has all sorts of terrain. I built tons of things over many chunks. I created backups before loading up the latest version of Minecraft, but I cannot recall which version I actually last played on. It spawned me in an area I did not recognize at all, because it was new terrain that generated on top of a bunch of things I built. Eventually I was able to find traces of my old creations when I explored a little bit. Using a backup copy each time, I tried several different versions of Minecraft. I noticed lots of blocks and chunks were missing when I loaded up 1.5.1 and 1.5.2. It seems that 1.6.1 is more like where I left off. I used lots of quarts blocks and horses, meaning a majority of the build work I did was around the time of the release of those items.
In 1.6.1, I found significantly more remnants of what I built before, but not a single building was completely left intact. All of them either had chunks of the buildings replaced with generated terrain, or invisible blocks altogether. A few blocks displayed the checkered black/pink "missing texture" skin.
I'm quite certain that my spawn point is in fact where I last left off playing.
Can anybody provide me with tips or assistance on how to restore my world to what it once was, instead of having sporadic chunks of my creations replaced with randomly generated terrain? It's really heartbreaking seeing all my hard work in ruins.

I'm pretty good with redstone, but making things look good... I'm terrible at it.

I have to manually select regions by typing //pos1 and //pos2 (which isn't really that big of a deal) but what is is I can't do the //replace command at all. It just says replaced 0 blocks. And if I try using the //walls command, it creates it 1 block to the South. It seems to me that there is some problem with coordinates here. I have tried a fresh minecraft folder twice now and it is the only mod I have installed.
I don't know if this belongs here, or on the Worldedit thread, but does anyone know what the problem is?
Edit: If I do //pos1 then go stand on that block, this is what happens:
The selected region coordinate is: x= -163 y= 30 z= 216
Actual coordinate: x= -163 y= 30 z= 217
Which would explain why it brings it one block south usually.

Both of these are exactly what I was thinking.

The items through the cobwebs onto a pressure plate, but I use a minecart. That's a great and reliable timer without the need of a ton of repeaters. I highly recommend it, especially if you need a 1 hour delay.

These redstone lamps are powering the pistons even though there is a block of air between them.
