A kid in my history class went on a rant today about how Muslims are "genetically inferior to normal people." Yes, he used the words "normal people".

Some people are worried about possible meltdowns. IMO, I don't see the issue, really. If we can competently handle them they're our best bet for mostly-clean, sort-of-renewable-OK-fine-it's-not-renewable-but-there's-a-lot-of-it energy until we figure out fusion.

"You have run out of energy! Wait twenty minutes in-game (AKA, get murderized by night mobs) for 1 Energy to recharge. Or you can purchase 1 Energy for only 29.95!"

Does appraised have a meaning I don't know, or is this a typo?

Okay, OP, I see your point. But what happens when you've been learning only what specifically relates to the job you want for your entire life, and then you decide you want a different job? You'd have no knowledge of anything else. Now picture a world where everyone only knows one thing. How would you have an intelligent discussion about anything other than your job?

This is what I hate about some people in this section, that they refuse to even acknowledge the remotest possibility that they might maybe be wrong. How can you have a decent, intellectually stimulating debate if neither side accepts that their opponent might be right? There's no point in arguing with someone so pompous and sure of themselves that they can't even imagine that the other guy might be right on /something/. Thankfully, most of you Off-Topicers aren't like that, but it grinds my nerves a ton to see these kinds of threads pop up every now and then.

Woah... Now you just said in another thread that a "foreigner" should not be shut up after offended over 24 thousand people who signed a petition against him. Which is it bro?

Debating gun control is not the same thing as protesting little kids' funerals.

Assuming the main point of this thread at this point is to debate gun control (Although my heart goes out to the families of those injured or killed by the attack, and may the poor kids who died rest in peace), here's my issue with people saying "Guns don't kill people, people kill people":

Guns were specifically designed and made for warfare, with the express purpose of killing other people. You don't blame cars for hit-and-runs because the cars are not designed specifically to perform these actions. Cars are built to transport people, and are being used incorrectly when they injure or kill someone. Guns are built specifically to kill other people, and are being used incorrectly in the most basic sense of the word when they are /not/ injuring or killing someone. It's like saying "Can openers don't open cans, people open cans!" and then defending this by saying "Forks aren't blamed when someone uses them to eat soup!"

posted a message on Mojang is Out of Touch: Why Jeb and Dinnerbone need to go the way of Notch.
The issue is, if Jeb and Dinnerbone stopped working on the mod API (Which is what 1.5 is, by the way) and started working on terrain generation, you'd just start pestering them about working on the mod API, and then vice versa over and over again and they'd never get anything done. If you don't want to like them, then you're never going to be able to, which is why people will always complain.
