>Notices 1.8 Optifine is now at 15% instead of 8%>Grabs the Pom-Poms
You can do it you can do it! xD As this is my favorite/the most helpful mod to me, I really feel like I should thank sp614x for being awesome and continuing the project even with the sheer amount of overhull 1.8 requires! Keep up the good work and don't overwork yourself with this! (The last thing I want to see is an unhappy programmer!)
Guess I will add my voice as another person with massive framerate drops in 1.8. 1.7 had problems and required Optifine to be decently playable for me, and now 1.8 is 100% unplayable in survival due to how long I am waiting for the world to load, how choppy the framerate is, and just general slowdown. Even with Mobs Off to avoid the slowdown caused by entity ticks (There is a massive problem where all entities are checking if a creeper is about to blow up next to them, this constant checking causes huge slowdown for a lot of people) I get horrible framerate.
But hey, at least I can play on a Superflat world at 50 FPS...sometimes...t-that is great...r-right?
Also odd thing I noticed is this strange Community Split caused by the people with this problem and the people without. I guess like the Rich don't understand the Poor, the High Framerate Users don't understand the Low Framerate Users. Ah well, maybe I just need a duel core or something to understand what it is like to have high frames rating all the time.
Ever get bored of finding just dungeons or temples? Want something new to adventure and discover? Well that is just what this is meant to do! Currently there are only these towers, but I plan to add more in the future! And when I add more I plan to make sure they fit the style of vanilla, having loot, spawners, and a nice style that fits the game!
Video includes installation instructions, requires Minecraft 1.8 and MCedit to paste into your world!
But for those of you who just want to download and use it here are the instructions:
Download and unzip the file.
Create a new world or open an existing world (back up your saves)
Teleport to x=7 y=75 z=8, wait for world to load around you.
Put the command "/setblock 7 75 8 stone 1" into your chat, then save and quit the game.
Go into MCedit and load the schematic
Paste the schematic into your world so that the Red Clay Block overwrites the location of the Stone 1 Block
Enter your world, press the wooden button, and if all goes well after about 2-3 minutes or so the machine will finish its job, delete itself, and allow you to start your adventure!
Unfortunately Jigarbov, the best map creator in the world, recently made a map like this, except 20x better. Sorry
Though I appreciate getting comments in my thread with how hard it is to get noticed around here, I have to admit I don't appreciate that comment being advertisement for someone else's map and also being told "how much worse" mine is compaired to theirs.
Even if another person has completed their randomized dungeon generator it isn't like I am going to stop making mine. Mine is in a different style and progression and it isn't like many people make these kinds of maps anyway, ontop of that I have been working on it for months, before /clone even made it fully possible, alone and without a team to help me get it out super fast.
Sorry if anything in this comment came off as rude, I just don't understand why it is nessary to post such an unconstructive comment that hardly does anything but degrade my work and praise another person.
In other news, for those who like hearing updates on my map! I completed several boss battles today and have added nearly 10 new attacks!
Hey guys! Just another progress video! I finally have loot, mob spawners, exit and entrance doors, extra things such as cobwebs on the roof/other objects around the floor, and have even been working on a boss AI system!
Hey everyone! I started working on this project again recently after a large hiatus because life and Minecraft issues getting in the way! I really wanna release the finished version soon if I can get it done in a timely manner!
Have a video of the dungeon actually generating, for now!
Hey everyone, another update video just to let you guys know I am working on this project again! This video goes over a lot of the details of the map and the progress I have made on Version 1.0! Hopefully I can release it in another month or so, but for now have a progress video!
Sorry for the triple post, everyone, seems no one has replied to this thread yet...
(Note: This topic is quite old and I am trying to rewrite it to be a bit better when I release my next map!)
Hello and welcome toCrab's Randomized Dungeons, the place I will be posting my dungeon randomizers! I really like working on these random dungeons when I can get the chance and really hope to be able to make more soon! Currently I have one really old one released, but have a second one in the works that will HOPEFULLY be released in a few weeks, I have delayed it WAY too much already!
As the name implies the dungeons are randomized, the rooms, the enemies, and the loot! The original v0.5 1.5-1.7 version was simply a couple rooms that were created at complete random and then chests and mobspawners created randomly around the dungeon.
Version 1.0 for Minecraft 1.8 however will be VASTLY different and better! Including 10 more possible rooms, more mobs to fight, more loot, a progression system, boss battles, procedurally generated layouts, and more! You can see a video on it in the Media section of this thread, and more indepth information on it in the Current Progress section!
Oh...and did I mention that Version 1.0 will have infinite rooms? Beat one floor of the dungeon and it brings you to the next! You can explore and see how far you can survive for as long as you want! It isn't called the Dungeon of Insanity for nothing!
Version 1.0 still has a bit of work to be done before I can release it, mainly tedious stuff like creating spawners, chests, and stuff like that. When it is done it will have many features and will be as polished as I can manage, but first I need to get done the most boring parts...ugh...random loot!
How the dungeon progresses, you can skip this as it is simply an in-depth explanation of the progression from start to finish.
The dungeon will be designed to allow you to play alone or play with friends, and shouldn't break if you have friends with you. You can pick one of four gamemodes, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hardcore. Easy gives you no score but allows you infinite respawns; Normal will only allow 20 respawns(Number may change) respawns, but gives you a score when they run out; Hard gives you 5 respawns(Number may change) and a final score; Hardcore gives you no respawn, and offers no natural regeneration!
When starting a game a new dungeon will quickly generate and you will be allowed to explore it, as of right now the dungeon gives you plenty of exits to allow you to leave the current dungeon at any given time, I encourage you explore for loot first!
Every 5 levels there will be a boss fight and afterward the loot will change to be slightly better while the mobs you fight get slightly harder, otherwise the room generation stays the same, I have no current plans to change how the rooms look as the game gets harder.
At around level 20 you will be able to access new areas of the dungeon that you couldn't previously enter, allowing for further exploration!
The loot and monsters will top out at about level 50 with the current design, I plan to make it go up into the hundreds eventually, but currently the progression stops at about level 50, however you can continue to play past this point!
All features below will be included in the released version, most are either finished being made or in progress!
Full List of Features:
Procedurally Generated Rooms
48 Possible room "Parts" that are selected at random
Infinite rooms to explore
Loot and Monster level progression
Multiplayerable
Random loot and chest locations
Random monster spawners and spawner locations
4 Game Difficulties to choose from
Boss Battles
Probably more things, but I can't remember right now...I'll add them as they come to mind!
1. Download and put the map in saves folder inside your .Minecraft folder.2. After opening the level you should see a wooden button nearby, only press it once!3. Everything should go dark and it should say that it is Randomizing Rooms moments later.4. The game will take roughly 15 minutes at MOST to create the dungeon, 5 minutes at very least if you have a super computer, leave the game AFK while you wait. Do NOT pause the game!5. Once it spawns you in the dungeon, have fun! Also, note the fact it says "Clearing Lag" for the last bit of the dungeon generation. Even if the game was laggy when first entering the world the lag will clear up for a smooth dungeon experiance!I will give you a warning, playing in 1.6 is harder than 1.5!Warning! Play map with particals OFF! Also normal render distance, fast graphics, and no smooth lighting until the dungeon is finished being generated, otherwise it'll take longer!
-----Features in this old version!-----
1. 10 block wide, 10 block long, 4 block tall rooms!2. Dungeon is 10 rooms wide and 10 rooms long!3. Random Loot locations!4. Roughly 50+ different chests!5. Random Spawner locations!6. 6 diffrent mob spawners!7. Kinda sorta multiplayer!8. 3 basic rooms!9. Rooms are in random locations! The current features as of right now are pretty much the bare basics of what I hope to do with this concept, hope to add more into the next version!
-----Known Issues-----
There is this rare chance that the loot and or mob spawners don't stop spawning...You can easily notice this when you get into a section of the dungeon and it is litterally filled of spawners or chests. There is an even more rare bug where the dungeon just doesn't spawn AT ALL.You can't pick torches back up after placing them. The game is laggy enough before the "Clearing Lag" part of the dungeon generator that there is no possible way to make a reset button, the map must be redownloaded to play again. :CSometimes there isn't enough loot or mobs.Sometimes there are too many mobs and too much loot.
So though I have designed pretty much everything myself, and also have build everything myself I have a few people to thank for not only inspiration but also for their non-direct help! In the old 1.5-1.7 version of the map I relied on several things discovered by TrazLander, and in all versions of the map I have used filters made by Sethbling! In the latest, currently unfinished version, of the dungeon I have actually used several discoveries and things I found through SimplySarc's videos, so I must thank him for being awesome! This kind of map wouldn't be possible without you awesome inventors! Keep it up!
I really hope this is the right thread for this! But earlier this week I built a randomizer that can have 63 diffrent outputs! And probably more depending on how you might build it!
It uses the new Spawners in Minecarts to randomly spawn redstone torches inside a box, which turn on the signals above the box, as you can see in the video below.
I'm not sure if there are any better compact randomizer like this, for all I know I could be pretty behind and outdated! But either way this thing is gonna be helpful in my own adventure maps and such in the future!
I bet a person better at redstone could build a better one, too.
Getting the same bug and amazed I can't find too many threads or videos showing it, it is quite the bother and I could swear this happened another update recently.
Hopefully it gets fixed before the update, game is nearly unplayable.
Also hope the over amount of snow and ocean biomes gets fixed...
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates lately. Been getting ready to move to a new house, been sick again, and been really busy.
But I DID manage to get an update on this finished, finished the items.png so it is now usable. There are a LOT of placeholder items, but I will finish those whenever I get the chance.
So yeah, now that I have gotten you guys an update to give you all SOMETHING before I am off my computer for a month or two, I will now try and get a new video up to show off the items.
So yeah, please check the FIRST POST for the UPDATED download link.
