Think what message that would send to third world countries. I mean look what happened with Egypt, we've got countries revolting everywhere in the middle east. If one of THE foremost democratic powers on the planet had a revolution, imagine how many other countries would revolt. And revolt for what reason? America isn't as deep in the shitter as you think. Take the national debt for example. Every country has a bad national debt.
Look at the UK. They have about 3.6 trillion dollars in debt. Yes, that's more than 3 times ours, but look at the UK's population. The UK has about 61,838,154 people in their country.
America has 307,006,550.
If you do the math. 307,006,550 divided by 61,838,154.
American has 5 times the amount of people the UK does.
It only stands to reason that we have almost a little bit over 3 times the national debt.
In all, America's a damn good place to live, but everyone makes it out like their opposing political party is driving it into the ground. We Americans make our situation out to be much worse than it actually is.
Sorry if this seems a bit off topic, but just decided to use the national debt as an example.

One was banned, other was just kicked didn't rejoin. That was BigJoeBob0202002. Before kicking him he replaced my signs with "Gmod.biz. Best Community!" or something along those lines.
I come onto my server. Find it griefed, with another sign in the middle of a crater saying "Gmod.biz! Best Community!"
I went to gmod.biz, Searched for "BigJoeBob0202002"
Found his account, which contained a linked SteamID.
Is that not evidence enough for a mere conversation and a warning?
By the way, I'm not smart enough to have a botnet, nor dumb enough to have one.
I actually don't know the man with the botnet. I've even had someone threaten to DDoS me with it.
Today, I came home, and received a message on facebook from my friend. He tells me that our server was griefed. I joined to some minor griefing, I suspected who it was, but wasn't entirely sure. I didn't have any logs either. However, we noticed a sign that said "Gmod.biz! #1 Community"
I instantly knew who it was. He had joined before I had Bukkit installed and removed all my signs, replacing them with that. I decided to head over to gmod.biz, and search for his name. I found his account, as well as a Steam ID.
Suddenly, I got very crafty. I had a friend, who knew a friend who has a quite large botnet.
My friend could get his IP fairly easily. I considered this for quite some time, until that friend told me he was too sick to care about DDoSing some kid.
I was a bit dissappointed, but decided to just add him on Steam and have a nice little conversation with him.
Conversation went something like this...

Thought it was pretty funny. We repaired all the damage pretty easily. Was just a minor setback. Banned both him and his friend.
Notch described Creepers as being like plants, oddly enough.
Ah so that is official? I actually prefer that description. In a Sci-Fi way Creepers make a lot of sense. They kill predators by exploding on them which releases spores for more Creepers. With an evolutionary trait like that they'd take over the world.
They feel crunchy, like leaves, and are supposed to be mutated pigs.

Assuming that the minecraft world is EARTH, then at least thousands of years have passed for ruins of everything to degrade to nothing. Assuming Creepers were exposed to some mutagen (Redstone?), they could have experienced an extremely rapid evolution. They could also be the result of scientific experimentation. DNA splicing and such.
Wolves add depth to the game. Its fun to go out into the forest, and see something other than a pig hopping around.
Besides, if you don't like it.... (I realize it's been said hundreds of times already), Just ignore them. Notch isn't forcing you to have a wolf. If you want to say wolves serve no purpose due to the fact that they're "useless", then all the passive mobs serve no purpose. You don't NEED pork, You can farm for bread. You don't NEED sheep, you can make wool from string. You don't need leather, you can make iron armor. Don't need chickens either. You get feathers from zombies.
The point is, You don't HAVE to do something, just because it's implemented. If you don't like it, don't use it.
Besides, it's not like this update will ONLY contain wolves, Jesus Christ. There are going to be more water mobs, and potentially stats and achievements. I don't like colored blocks, but I don't go on the forums and start complaining about it, just because it "has no use." If you REALLY have some intense hatred or dislike of wolves, then mod your game to remove them.
