I've recently built a new computer, and it's significantly better than the one I produced this one on. So I'm planning to get started on a new farm. The new goal is going to be 1,000,000 cactus a hour. Yes, that's right. A million cactus an hour. Be sure to stay tuned to see how it goes!
XP is not like a resource you are supposed to get in the game, it's experience. You're supposed to get it from killing mobs and mining. Building these grinders makes it seem like you're farming XP, not actually gaining experience. Now, I will admit, that when the highest enchant was level 50, it was very difficult to get through just hunting, but with the change of it only being level 30, it's very practical to go out for a few nights and get to level 30. I just feel that it should in no way be where you AFK at a spawner for 10 minutes, or run around an enderman farm for a few seconds. The XP is about killing, not grinding, so it should be dealt with as such.
Because it's better on your energy bills. Most monitors will not even display faster than 60FPS, so some cards automatically set to VSync to save on energy usage for your Video Card.
I know for a fact that I've got a 120 Hertz monitor, so I'd really like to see Minecraft getting at least that, and if it is the card that's causing the vsync, why did it just start doing it now?

I must agree seeing as how we've been through so much. I still have connections with people like Vsep and Firetay from back in the old days and can get them on the server too. We're decent builders and old friends but if you'd like us to write applications to keep things fair i've got no problem with it.
I'd be happy to read over the applications if you guys want to post them.
Minecraft is a 16 pixel game it doesn't need a 7970 in crossfire, nor does it need such a powerful CPU. When you open minecraft it may be switching to your integrated graphics as minecraft doesn't need that much power. You could try checking if that is the problem.
Well, my motherboard doesn't even support on-board graphics so that's basically impossible.
After a little playing around, I think I've found the problem. I think it's the gpu settings, something about it is wanting to default to 60fps in everything, basically. Anyone have any idea why AMD Catalyst would want to default to vsync?
They should just make the potion like the enchanted golden apple, very expensive (Maybe not 8 gold blocks), but still not easy to get like the other potions.
I remember when there were less than 50,000 sales. It's incredible to see how far this game has come. To a great 7 million and to many more, cheers Mojang!

The 260's are older cards, and Minecraft doesn't benefit from SLI or Crossfire, but with those cards you shouldn't have any fps issues at all.
