posted a message on ProjectE - Equivalent Exchange 2 (EE2) for modern Minecraft versions

In EE2 the Katar used to be able to be used as a super sickle. It would till the ground if you had an EMC source like a klein star in your inventory, but if you did not have one then it would chop all plants instead of tilling. Can we get this back?

A Glowstone pencil/crayon (forgot which is which) & glasses. Without glasses you cannot see or interact with the block, but it still provides glowstone level light. With glasses, you can see & interact with the block.

Anyone know of, or can make a mod with large bags or backpacks like the old 1.2.5 Alchemy bags? The Advanced Backpacks mod has them, but the author said he doesn't have time to update to 1.5.2.

posted a message on [1.12 Forge] Ellian's MaterialDetector with minimap v4.0
    Quote from LoRaM100

I use SKMCLauncher (Risu's) and MagicLauncher (Forge). I have MC versions all the way back to beta 1.6.6.
Ellian's (correct version) works properly (most updated materialsColours) with each of them.
    Lou
Any block/item (colours) on the list but not in the version you're playing won't cause holes. If it doesn't exist, why would it cause a hole?
When Emeralds first appeared. I (Ellian too eventually) had to add them with a color to the materialsColours. Until I did they just weren't there. If I play a version of MC before Emeralds were added there is no difference.

Again, not all instances have the same Block IDs. Copper can be set to Block ID 400 in the first instance and Block ID 3000 in the second instance. In the second instance it might be a tree or a machine at Block ID 400, but the shared config is still set for copper to be at Block ID 400.. you see the problem? If not then I can't explain it any more clearly to you. Each instance needs its own config file.

That question is beyond my ability to answer fully & I don't completely understand your question.
If asking how to have different configurations for different games, I doubt it possible.

Maybe, create a sub-directory in \config containing different blocks/items. Then manually replacing what is in the \config before you begin a new game.
    Lou

I mean that using either FTB or MultiMC creates new minecraft instances (different copies or versions of the game).

    Example:
    C:\FTB\Ultimate\minecraft\config
    C:\FTB\Direwolf20\minecraft\config
    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\instances\MC 1.5.2\minecraft\config
    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\instances\MC1.4.7LM\minecraft\config

There should be separate configs for each instance. Each of them uses different Block and Item IDs. This means that if I set up one game and then play in another one that the detector map will be filled with empty spots or just wrong. So they need to find the path to minecraft's \config directory for the instance that is running and use those config files.

    There is a tutorial here:
    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1058091-tutorial-custom-sounds-and-more/

That is for minecraft 1.4.2, so hopefully it is still relevant for 1.5.2.

Okay, I see what you're trying to do with the tower cores, but when combined with not ensuring the space inside is clear, they can result in a tower being impenetrable by any normal means. A moat entrance can get frozen over (and the core will protect the ice), trees can block stairwells, etc.

I really think they should be a bit pickier about what they protect. Needing True Sight is somewhat understandable, but relying on Blink / ThaumCraft portable holes to get into a place seems needlessly obnoxious (given that in all the worlds I've generated lately, I have yet to find the Blink spell).

A way to turn this feature off in the config would be nice. The structures don't always work nicely with the terrain. I usually find towers with rock and ore in the basement filling all the empty space (need to use air blocks for all empty spaces in world gen structures to prevent this). They also protect more than just the structure. Any surrounding terrain, trees, flowers, etc all get protected. It is just a really annoying feature.

The original Detector created 3(?) EllianDetector.* and 1 materialsColours files in *.minecraft.
The upgraded version (meta-data) creates 2 EllianDetector.* and 1 materialsColours files in *.minecraft\config.
    At least on my XP.

Ok found it in the .minecraft\config\ directory. Where is the environment variable that was mentioned where we can change where it goes? I'd like to have the config in the proper spot for each instance. This is especially annoying because different instances will have different block IDs which messes up the map.

Can't find the config file anywhere. Pressing the "open menu" key opens the main minecraft menu as though I had pressed Escape??! How Exactly do we set this env variable to tell it where to place the config?

Minecraft and Java memory leaks FTW!

add this to extra java parameters (or Java JVM Arguments for MultiMC) in launcher options (include the hyphen):
    -XX:MaxPermSize=128M

Yup, I got it working but had to use 256M. Seems to be either a 1.5.2 problem or some of the other mods are leaking like a sieve.
