It was mentioned in the "Hiring new Writers" thread a bit ago that he left for bigger opportunities, or something like that. Don't remember the specifics, but it was something like that.

And that quote is misinformed and incorrect. Advancements replace achievements, thus being a "Main game thing". Advancements can be used by mapmakers, but Advancements effect the vanilla game as well. However, the vanilla game advancements will not be limiting or linear.

I found that out eventually, but I still prefer the original achievement tree. Also the message you quoted was a reply to some guy saying that Advancements were a map-maker feature only to every single person on page one.

No, it replaces the original achievements completely. It's a main game thing.

I agree. Notch's original vision for Achievements was that they wouldn't be grind tasks, but more of markers to show your progress/accomplishments (At least I think that's what it was). I'm sincerely hoping that the default or vanilla or first or whatever tab for advancements would in fact be the original achievement tree, and not some new grind-based tree.

I thoroughly enjoy versions above 1.8. I find the combat in versions above 1.8 much better than the system in previous versions, but more importantly, the added content. Also, versions below 1.7 can be enjoyed as well. Nobody can objectively say that specific versions are "the best version" and that no other version is good.

I'm hoping they keep the original Achievement tree as one of the Advancement tabs, or maybe the default one. Also, I feel Advancements might make Minecraft vanilla more linear, depending on the path they take with it

Why do people have to be so negative about everything nowadays? Like, instead of "Hey, this is a neat house design, it's pretty simple and uses pretty basic materials" people are all like "Ew, Clickbait, Grain sucks, this isn't news, even though there is very little news to actually report on, ugh!"

Well it's not really clickbait if you deliver on your promise in the title and the thumbnail. Though the EASY! and the red arrow could be a little bit misleading looking, the house design is pretty simple, which could account as being "easy"... and he explains how to build the house design very thoroughly, and it is made of basic materials, so it's a starter house. In this case, it could be called "clickbait" but it leaves you satisfied.

So what I'd like to suggest here is a new brand of pistons- Grapples. These Grapples will function like a translocation piston- but instead of pulling it through, it pulls them towards, and holds them there... the Grapple could take 4 signals, each with it's own function, in this order- Extend, Attach, Retract, Release. The Grapple would be crafted with a piston at the top and claw-like iron patterns w/ slime balls at the sides. (I'm not to sure...) But along with the Grapple, is the Ender Grapple- a Grapple crafted with ender pearls on the top & bottom. This Grapple does almost the same thing- Extend, Attach, Retract... translocate. (with two signals instead) It will grab entities and transport them to the other side of the Ender Grapple, just like the Translocation Piston Bug. Do you like? If so, comment down below! Don't like? Please comment down below, suggest improvements!

For some reason, my minecraft launcher will not connect to the internet. It will only launch minecraft in offline mode, and will not show update news. I've tried giving it permissions and looking at the firewall permissions, but none of these things seem to work. Everything else I use besides Minecraft connects perfectly fine. Here is a sort of error thing I found relating to the problem:

Notch doesn't work at Mojang anymore. He sold it, remember?
Also, MC-10 is a code for a bug, fixed in the update. Here is a quote from the official wiki:
"MC-10 – Mobs temporarily glitch out of fenced areas / into blocks"

Makes sense
I don't give out my number btw, only to my closet and closest friends.
Also saying "Herobrine Atheist" was a little dumb on my part, as I don't think the lore behind Herobrine is referred to a theology.
Oh yeah, use F2 on your keyboard to take in-game screenies

Okay, I'll wait as long as I need to
Even if I am a Herobrine Atheist

Unless the mob you have encountered is real, I can check
But most likely it isn't

Nice story bro.
1. Fake story bro
2. Mods

Herobrine isn't real

Wow, dude, just use email recovery.
It's easy.
1.9 has nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, to do with it.

Yknow, most of the PVP is just spam-clicking people into corners or of ledges. A lot of good games, like TF2 (and other FPS games) and Skyrim (and other open-world games) definitely don't have rapid spam clicking. That would easily kill anything... and make the game a (not very fun) breeze. I want you to think about that...
Even in real life, you don't magically swing weapons at like 50 mph

I always hate being the one in the corner, severely outmatched, and low health from the same situation. It's no fun.
This update changes that.
Now people w/ the same gear, or even different, can stand a chance.
People who spam now have to THINK.
Not just wildly spam.
Like in other FPS games... (with melee of course)
There's no spamming in those.
If you try, it'll kill you.
Instead, you need a REAL strategy.
Something that can make you WIN.
Not be an annoyance, but an opponent who actually is one.
My opinion, don't have to agree

Minecraft is definitely NOT declining, the PVP is becoming FAIR, (You hate it when YOU are the person in the corner) the new End stuff is amazing, the wings offer NEW PARKOUR OPPORTUNITIES, and the freaking amazing NEW COMMAND BLOCKS that make everything easier (Like instant clocks). These IMPROVE the gameplay, you just don't like how you can LOSE now in PVP to the smarter (instead of stronger) people.
This is my opinion.
[EDIT: but I don't really like the boats]

Sooo...
I launch Minecraft,
Press play,
Wait,
Window comes up completely white,
And the message appears.
Any fixes? Please?
Some things I noticed: 1.6.4 and below work fine
Error code changes sometimes
Some things I have already tried:
Re installing
Rebooting
Setting to compatibility mode
Wiping out JMV arguments
Running as admin
Deleting Java Junk Files
Creating Environment Variables
I am running Windows 7,
with launcher V. 1.6.19
