posted a message on Breaking Connections?

So, looking at the wiki, each fence or stained/normal glass pane or iron bars has blockstates that define the connections and their direction, regardless of DV. The block states are North, South, East & West, each with a true/false tag. It would seem extremely simple to force one of these tags to be true or false, ignoring any blocks it should or shouldn't connect to, at least untill an update. So, theoretically, this should be completely possible.

Now I don't know much about code, not yet anyway, but I feel if a fence can look and act a certain way with an air block next to it, then I don't see why it can't be forced to ignore a solid block or other fence to act the exact same way...

Logically, in my head, I don't see what's really preventing it from happening...

But I guess I'll take your word for it...

posted a message on Breaking Connections?

Now, just today, Maria Lemon, one of the MCPC devs revealed a mighty bugfix: https://twitter.com/MiaLem_n/status/851426323742556160

Things that couldn't be placed on stairs now can. But, there's one detail about this many people seem to be giving out some hate over:

Fences (And other Fence-like objects) connect to stairs.

Inspired by a suggestion I had seen here a few months ago, I propose a way to break (and replace) fence connections.

Using an Axe (Or Pickaxe for glass panes/iron bars/nether brick/Cobble Wall), you would be able to right-click the part of the hitbox with the connection to change the block's visual and functional state to one that excludes the connection in whatever direction it was facing, or in other words, break the connection.

To reestablish, either update the block or right click with an empty hand. Breaking the connection is only doable with the proper tool, and doing so in survival would take 1 durability, as to not, say, permanently replace fence gates.

So, is this a good idea? Please leave thoughts down below.

Now, you've most likely come across packs that improves or changes the textures of Granite or Diorite.

But I didn't make this pack to do that.

Behold! The power of: DORITOITE! This pack changes lame old Diorite and Granite into two beautiful flavors of Doritoite: Nacho Cheese (Granite) and Cool Ranch (Diorite). Now you can forever enjoy the taste of Doritos whilst mining underground! Get the Doritoite! texture pack to forever change your Minecraft experience today.

There are new advancements added to vanilla with every snapshot, in the most recent one "Sniper Duel" returned, under the "adventure" tab. It seems likley that all the quirky achievements will be returning, and the bland ones have oppurtunity to be reworked, being a snapshot and all.

posted a message on Categorize Suggestion Forum?

I've noticed that many threads in the suggestion forums are wishlists, or "X.X Update" or whatever.

To help limit the appearance of these, I want to suggest that the Suggestion Forum be split into sub-forum categories, such as "Mobs" "Items" "Tools/Equipment" "Environment" "Blocks" "Redstone" and "Mapmaking/Commands".

If this change were to be made, it would be a hassle to sort all the existing suggestions, so those could be sorted into an "Archive" category.

I believe this will help organize the Suggestions and limit the creation of wishlists and such.

A good example of this in use is the Terraria Forums Suggestion Forum: https://forums.terraria.org/index.php?forums/player-suggestions.13/

I hope you consider this change, thanks for reading.

Parrot sitting was added in the snapshot, they're still slow and don't stay on your shoulders when you jump, but those are just minor issues, so Half-Support I guess.

    Also, VolcanoBomber458, it's F3 + B that turns on hitboxes, not Ctrl + B.

I... I think...I think they added bulk crafting to the recipe book... I haven't seen the snapshot yet, but the changelog states that they added shift-click to the recipe book and the only thing that could mean is... bulk crafting... the fact that the recipe book could only craft one item seemed to be one of the only drawbacks to using it instead of shape, but now?

Looks to me that everything is working perfectly fine, players aren't supposed to destroy blocks that you aren't look directly at.

I mean, yeah, they're really cool and stuff, but I think the main reason why people are upset is because they removed the original achievement tree. I personally wanted them to keep it as the default advancement tab.
