When i look at the Threads name it has tags [1.4.2] but the DL itself in the wiki is only 1.3.2, also even i use the 1.3.2 DL link it errors with dropbox saying 404 : not found...
I haven't played SMP so I'm not sure how much of this stuff is down to the transition to making the whole game run as a server, which from my viewpoint sucks hairy man eggs, because I don't want to play SMP:
Game seems to lag like crazy. Even with OptiFine.
Mobs suck. More than a bit. They aren't working right. At all.
Mob drops seem glitchy as hell. I kill a pig, it drops 3 pork, then magically that has become 1 pork and yet when I pick up that 1 pork I have 3 in my inventory. Why the hell can't there just be 3 pork lying on the damned ground?!
Same when breaking blocks. I built a temporary wooden shelter my first night on my new 1.3.2 world. When I broke it down the next morning the blocks that dropped to the ground all merged together into a handful of 'piles' like they were forming a blocky T1000 and yet when I picked them up I had less wood in my inventory than I used to build the shelter. So does that mean every time I build something, decide it doesn't look quite right, rip it down and start again, I have to have extra resources available to make up for the ones that just seem to magically disappear? That's just stupid.
(first time i get ninjad and its a double ninja! This does not speak good news)
perhaps this is similar to a plugin a friend on a bukkit serv had:
It clumps all items of similar types together in a area to decrease lag and ease mining?
So let me get this straight : Using this, i can potentially use ANY bukkit server, even a server heavily based off Direwolf20's SMP lets play series that has all those forge mods and it will work over a LAN ? AND still run plugins?
Secondly : Are there limits? Like SMP only mods will work on the modded server(if one does not use a vanilla server)? or will it bridge SSP and SMP ?

My current server uses my own bunch of mods(hooray for ditching technic, where i cant add that Mo'creatures etc)
and even though my server uses IC2 BC and all that and i do have fun using them, i tend to want big anoying to build yet fun to watch working contraptions(i even use reward systems for players who build contraptions using many mods together to encourage it).
My point im diverting from is : I have already warned my players that if BTW ever showed the slightest SMP i will delete all other mods(beside a few non forge mods) and use BTW to all her glory that is a big pile of wolf excrete piled on endless amounts of gold(its a compliment!)
Not asking for any update info or SMP, im merely saying that BTW is a awsome mod, i loved using it in its early days and because my startover habit i got nowhere, then i brought SMP in and played with my friends on a technic like server after wanting them to feel the contraption-bigbuild side of technic like mods instead of a plugin filled Bukkit server... I only wish to provide my friends the CO OP satisfaction of torturing wolves and sipping icy cold lemonage while the cows and pigs are mass slaughtered in a grinder that resembles a medievel torture device.
Please keep improving this mod, no this total conversion
Was encouraged to read the changelogs for minecraft again after so half a year... found this and im not sure what to make of it......

Sad to say i use a tekkit based server(only recently moved from tekkit to a self modded server and client jar).
And one thing i noticed was how people used industrialcraft2 more than buildcraft. and how they then abused EE2 and just transmuted tons of aether fuel(what i call the highest EE2 fuel) -generated from 15 duplicators and 200000+ collectors plus some 60+ relay setups- into the metals they neede which ultimately ruins the need for a buildcraft quarry or a industrial craft miner(i actually will be disabling quarries and miners and any duping parts of EE2 at this point)...
None of the mods seem to compliment another and i wish for players to experience the most dual funtionality (i even used a redpower2-railcraft-buidcraft setup to change lava in world into a lava source for all other mods and the used ones.)
No other players atempt this just because they feel no need to breach out(sticking to industrial craft all together)
BTW has definitely proven to be well balanced and thought through. I often think its one of those "by the people for the people" things. By a player who knows what he wants for his minecraft world to make it all fit like a giant jumbo puzzle.q
sure there is an addon for Buildcraft and BTW (BTB) but that's just an addon to make them fit together like a child using a pair of scissors to cut the pieces to force fit them.(not insulting anyone here, just an opinion)
A mod should have from the start the ability to branch and work with other mods and even then new mods that were not foreseen show up and compatibility becomes a hassle.
In my honest opinion mods should stick to themselves(and their intended compatabils at start).
But then this is coming from a player who scans looking for the next mod to attempt to toss on his server to add more gameplay time to his players(but its really only for them seeing as they got bored of my friends Vannila server, its a phase i guess)
But it is also hard looking for mods that dont OP or will draw away from existing mods installed.

Hmm guess im going to sit for half a day piling through my 46+ mods on server and install accordingly, expecially since i am about to add new mods to the server(further peeving off players will my "dl this from here to continue playing". Thank god we have TS3 for communication.... though i have lost 1 player, i blame his vannila supporting friend. (he wont even attempt joining my server, but plays on my virtual servers hosts server(does that make sense ...) which is bukkit with mannny plugins O.o)

Afaik it asks for vz class(whatever that one is)
As mentioned before im using a Tekkit server.jar and it might be related to that, if a way to install it with tekkit exists please some1 inform me, i wish to give my players new magic choices seeing as many split up between tech and magics. and magics is lacking in "cool" and "omg" areas.
Sorry to say i wont be able to test or help for awhile since i got a server to manage, and my holidays after school, i wish to spend some time not testing stuff and play on my server. Though hopefully then ill return to a bigger mod with more fun testing to do

It will run properly if i disable mod in config, and i have checked IDs.
When it can run(with mod.disabled=true) I can still spawn in the mods items/blocks but no world gen takes place.

My latest MultiMC reads version as 3.1 in the name bar so im unsure whats wrong.
