Why don't you try to add mods to Minecraft? Add more items to craft, more block to build with. Or if you just want to play with vanilla Minecraft then try Survival Multiplayer.
I just found out that my minecraft will not freeze if I have distance short or tiny on video setting. But if I put it to Normal or far, that's when it starts freezing. Just saying, I don't know if this information is helpful, but I hope it does.
1) Is your computer overheating?
2) Try updating LWJGL, but manually.
3) Try launching Minecraft using the Magic Launcher.
My Mac does overheat, but only when I play to much. And, I updated the LWJGL as you said but when I started Minecraft, it will show it upside down! But at least it will show it the correct side when I put it on fullscreen, so it isn't a problem. And by the way, updating it didn't solve my problem
Every time I play survival, Minecraft Freezes every 10 seconds or less. Minecraft remains frozen for about 2 minutes or more, or sometimes it freezes and I have to shut down my Computer because sometimes it stays frozen forever. This has happened to me before but then it fixed for itself. But now it hasn't. This happens every time I delete my .Minecraft File so I can have a new fresh Minecraft. But when I download it again, it starts freezing when I start to playing Survival.

I have been playing minecraft for a long time and never had this problem before, I got this problem recently. The problem is that my minecraft just randomly freezes, I have installed optifine and that didn't fix my problem, I searched in google and in the minecraft forums but I still can't find a solution. I have tried a lot of things and still no solution.
But I think it's freezing because of my mouse, when I use the mouse, minecraft start freezes for 1 or 2 minutes and when it unfreezes... I it freezes again. But, when I use the mac's trackpad, minecraft will never freeze, but I am a total noob playing with the trackpad and I hate it. And when I play online, minecraft never freezes, even with the mouse, it works well, so it only freezes when I am playing off-line on my survival worlds. So if you have the solution, please answer.
