Well, apparently the PPNS section is being shut down for some absurd reason, so I'll probably end up leaving now...none of the other sections here really interest me, honestly.

I think I'll punch out as well.

Where do I find an intelligent forums now?

If, for some reason, anybody has a need to contact me use the email - my nick here at gmail.

Funny, I was going to come back and post again in a limited capacity after a while off these forums, then this happens.

Ah well. If the PPNS regulars decide to move to some other forum en masse then somebody shoot me a PM and I'd be interested. If not, then it was nice talking to all you PPNS guys while it lasted, and maybe I'll see some of you on some other forums if I can ever be bothered getting acquainted with a new community.

posted a message on Introductions & Leavings
I've mostly been inactive over the past few months. I normally posted in PPNS, but the redundancy of topics (7 topics about religion on the first page alone) there and the redundancy of posts (''capitalism is responsible for all the world's evils, blah blah blah''), as well as the close-mindedness of a large percentage of the posters means I probably won't be a regular there again. It's a shame to leave it on such a negative note, but I see it as having worsened significantly over the past year or so, with all due respect to those who actually try to form decent, coherent discussions.

    So yeah. Bye!

posted a message on Grievances from PPNS Forum
I've certainly seen a fair few instances of posts being removed or hidden or whatever with no explanation, and often no reason that I can see as viable; but then again, I've never, looking back, received an undeserved infraction, whether through posting in PPNS or other parts of the forum.

I'm kind of split about this issue. At the end of the day, there should be no exceptions with the rules - they're pretty clear (although I could scrutinize the ''troll calling'' rule) regardless of the subject matter. The staffing isn't bad by any means and personal vendettas against certain members would be obvious. PPNS isn't really a special section, and nor is OT as a whole, and PPNS regulars - including myself - aren't deserving of any sort of preferential treatment or exceptions. I suppose I'm in agreement with both sides here; posters should be more careful and sensitive, but some members of staff should also tread more lightly with the more controversial topics.

To be completely honest, this doesn't seem like much of an issue, although I can't say as I haven't received an infraction for quite a while, but I have had a couple of posts deleted with no explanation. To repeat what Habanero said, I think if posts (that aren't obvious spam or flaming) are deleted the moderator who did it should leave a notice explaining it. That's the only change that needs to be made in my opinion.

It was not a government project. It was made at CERN.

You're thinking of the World Wide Web, which shouldn't be confused with the Internet and was created at CERN. The internet is the result of a lot of things, but I think primarily by DARPA (a US Department of Defense Agency).

posted a message on How advanced would today's society be if the Roman Empire never fell?
    Quote from Lawnmower

What about the Renaissance? Much of the progress then had nothing to do with war.

You just replied to a post I made over a year and a half ago. I realize now that I thought too simply of the question back then, (truth is it's too ambiguous to answer) but nonetheless many great advancements are made in wartime, and I stand by that.

In any case, I don't intend on debating a post I made so long ago.

    Quote from 0strichGuy11

Is that just wishful thinking or is it actually confirmed? I'd love for that to happen, especially if they make it with next-gen in mind, maybe a full-fledged destruction system could be possible.

Nah, not confirmed, unfortunately. Although according to Wikipedia, Avalanche are interested in making a sequel to Just Cause 2 and the Website domains for Just Cause 3 & 4 have been reserved by Square Enix, although that's probably just more for damage limitation if they actually do decide to make those games.

That being said, I think it's pretty much inevitable. I hope so, anyway.

Eh, only a few are coming out soon. Metal Gear Solid 5 is a must, and the Witness and Mad Max seem pretty good.
For the future, I'm looking forward to Far Cry 4 (2 and 3 are two of my favourite games) and Just Cause 3. Maybe Fallout 4.

    20,10,30,15,__,25,65,40,90

    45.
    Look at every other number:

    10, 15, 25, 40. That's a change of 5, 10 and 15 respectively from the previous one.

    20, 30, n, 65, 90. That's a change of 10, x, z, 25. (X and Z being arbitrary letters).
Judging from that, we can assume that x= a change of 15, and z= a change of 20.

    So, a change of 15 from 30 is 45, as is 65 - 20.

Not too bad, although personally I'd have liked to see the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and Far Cry 2 closer to number 1, and I'd have stuck Medal of Honor Frontline in there.

posted a message on Who still goes on MCF?
I'm here (joined in 2011), but probably not for long. PPNS is rather boring and samey now, with a lot of the regulars gone or dormant. Most of the best debates and conversations happened long ago. General Off-Topic has been slowly dying ever since the chat thread was moved, too, which is a shame even though I didn't post in GOT very much.
