Another thing I need help with is, I need
The Plugin where you can make ranks
(like have ranks on peoples names)
I have looked around but I couldnt find it.
To have ranks, you'll need a permissions plugin like Bukkit Permissions, bPermissions, or PermissionsEX.
Alrighty people
New for this weekend (probably Saturday):
- Moderator rank (accepting applications, a template will be provided)
- alcohol (muddersmilk plugin)
- New MobArena features, including a NEW ARENA!
- Reworking of your bank account's interest system: instead of 7% every half-hour, you'll get 2% every hour :3
- We're redoing the spawn tower soon! Send us your suggestions as to what we can build!
- various tweaks and fixes.
-swiss
If you're using EssentialsChat, make SURE that you have no other chat formatting plugins. I was mistakenly using OKChat and essentialschat on my server at one point, and they didn't like each other.
Asking someone to explain every step in setting up a minecraft server is like asking someone to trim their epileptic grandfather's nose hair while skateboarding off a cliff -__- YouTube will serve you MUCH better.
-Admin/player color names/custom titles
-Ability to set warp points/allow certain players to warp to said points
-Ability to set spawn point for all players (upon death [without bed], and for new players to the server)
I'd actually recommend Essentials for all three. . .
The core Essentials file will get you warping, EssentialsSpawn will get you spawn, and EssentialsChat will get you colors. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/essentials/
Download the Essentials Core .zip, copy all three .jars into your Plugins folder, and you're good to go.
But either way will work
I'm already opped, I'm thinking i need a seperate pluggin. Thanks
These plugins are run off of the AdminCmd plugin, which you'll need to download if you expect them to work.
I'd recommend using the Bukkit versions of those commands(no plugins needed), and Essentials to fill in the rest.
Lists of commands/permissions for both can be found here: http://wiki.bukkit.org/CraftBukkit_commands http://ess.khhq.net/wiki/Command_Reference/Perm
Essentials is a great plugin to have, even if you want a minimalist server with few plugins.
Any problems, let me know.
How many servers have you been an admin on: six or so, two have been mine
How many plugins have you set up: dozens
Why do you want to help me: That's why I'm here ^.^ I like being able to help out people who are lost so they can go help other people and spread the love! <3 Also, getting permissions for helping out is always nice!
I couldn't see any problems, but what exactly is happening?
Also, the fact that the groups weren't in order of inheritance made my head hurt -__- but that's just me
As for poor coding, it's mostly the fact that Minecraft allows ANY mod or plugin, providing that there's someone there to develop it.
Whitelisting gets rid of undesireables, but there are anti-hack plugins (somewhere) on bukkitdev.
Hello comunity, my server has recently added Bukkit. For our admins and ranking system we used PermissionsEx. So far, it has worked swimmingly. However, nearly none of our commands work (fly, fireball, god, etc....). Is there another plugin we need to add? or is there something wrong with the .yaml (text below)? The spacing is correct (no tabs were used). I got the commands from here.
two things that come to mind:
The first is, could you post a list of plugins that you have installed on your server?
Secondly (and this is just for looks) could you post your configuration next time using code snippets? (the button is the " < > " one. It makes text look [code] like this [/], and preserves your indentations, etc.
bukkit it the LUGGYEST servers systeam i ever see its have ALOT of bugs and i really not recommend to open server on it
Bukkit is 100 times better than the vanilla software from what I've seen. . .better support (mojang takes weeks, bukkitdev hours), plugins, easier installation, etc.
I totally recommend opening a server using it.

Good point
Carry on, good sir.

There are sites all over where you can search for a server, if you'd so desire
example: http://mcserverlist.net/
and because I can't help a little advertisement (shame on me), use the IP in my sig to come check us out!
