Looks like Bethesda may be trying this crap again with Skyrim and Fallout 4.

    http://www.pcgamer.com/bethesda-announces-creation-club-which-looks-like-a-new-paid-mod-system-maybe/

From Bethesda's page on the Creation Club:

      Is Creation Club paid mods?[/header]
      No.
Mods will remain a free and open system where anyone can create and share what they’d like. Also, we won’t allow any existing mods to be retrofitted into Creation Club, it must all be original content. Most of the Creation Club content is created internally, some with external
partners who have worked on our games, and some by external Creators. All the content is approved, curated, and taken through the full internal dev cycle; including localization, polishing, and testing. Thisalso guarantees that all content works together. We’ve looked at many ways to do “paid mods”, and the problems outweigh the benefits. We’ve encountered many of those issues before. But, there’s a constant demand from our fans to add more official high quality content to our games, and while we are able to create a lot of it, we think many in our community have the talent to work directly with us and create some amazing new things.

It looks like it'll work like Mojang's new market place, AND it seems all content must be new stuff. I'd wait and observe before breaking out the pitchforks and torches this time TBH.

posted a message on Furnace variants (aesthetic)

I'd have nothing against this due to aesthetics, it'd make themed builds less ugly with the random cobble furnaces interlaced with sandstone or nether brick.

She shrugs. "Probably out," she says, after a moment's deliberation. With movements like a robin plucking a worm from the ground, she shoves the key into the lock and gives it a quick twist before dancing away from the door.

Lilium watched as the girl opened the lock, then turned to Gareth. "Ready?" she asked, loosening up in preparation for whatever awaited in that room.

"Huh... I suppose that's one way to treat a guest."

Gareth follows after the girl, arriving in the room in which she had flown into.

"Ah, Lillium. Swords'll be done tomorrow. Found anything out from this girl?"

"Good to know." She replied, then added, "What ever it is, she doesn't know what it could be, but it's allegedly been chewing on furniture , and it's got teeth."

Lilium waited by the door, wondering what cause the girl to run off suddenly.

First off, what do these "Unstable Beacons" and "Withered TNT" do?

Second off, do we really need a boss that has to be summoned with the dragon egg? While I'll admit this is more original than most suggestions involving the egg, is there nothing else that could work better, and is more renewable? And how much resistance does it gain at half HP? Otherwise, at least to me, it's just a palette-swap of the Ender Dragon

    She doesn't reply.

The door leads into a hallway, which has a set of stairs at the end. It's just as claustrophobic as the first room, and just as crammed with empty tubes and pipes. The girl doesn't walk all the way to the stairs. She stops about half-way down the hall, pulls out another key, and looks back at Lilium, key poised over the lock. "This one's the room."

"Say, I forgot to ask. What exactly happened when the cauldron attacked you? It'd help to have a basic idea of what to expect going in." Lilium asked.

The room is precisely what might be expected; once, it might have been a hall, but no longer. Four or five doors are tucked between a mass of silvery piping that seems to writhe in the light of several candles mounted on the walls, burning with violet flames. Orbs, vials, and beakers made of glass glimmer in the light, though their insides are coated in dust and they contain not a drop of liquid. In several places, large dents or alcoves are set into the gleaming mass, which presses in on all sides.

The girl chirps cheerfully as she trots towards the furthest door. "Oh, it started about a... a week ago? I think?"

She pulls a silvery key from underneath her shawl, shoving it into the door with another click. "As for the cause, I've no idea. None at all."

"I assume this is the room the cauldron is kept in?" Lilium asked, following the girl in, looking around it.

She takes a few seconds to respond. "If you're going to do something about it, absolutely. It's making a real menace of itself."

The girl steps aside, holding the door to prevent it from swinging shut. Her bright, orange-brown eyes glint in the sunlight that makes its way through the open door. Something about them is unusually keen.

As she stepped in, Lilium took a second to look around the room, then turned to the girl.

"So, when did this start happening? And do you have any idea what might be causing it?" She asked.

After a few seconds, the door's lock clicks, and the door swings open. A young girl stands in the doorway, no older than twelve or thirteen, the door's latch still in her hand. A pale, gray, washed-out shawl clings to her shoulders, and her hands are protected by leather gloves. A shock of black, feathery hair frames her dark face and quizzical expression.

After a moment, she speaks up, her voice bright and chirpy. "Oh! You must be here about the cauldron, right?"

Taken by surprise by the alchemists rather young appearance for a second, Lilium quickly regained herself and answered, "Yes, I am. May I step in?"

The sun casts the town in stark, hot illumination. The crowds are beginning to thin out as the heat of midday encroaches.

The blacksmith dunks a metal plate in water, watching it hiss and steam for a moment before he responds. "Absolutely. And, as I'm sure you can guess, very few repeat customers."

"Three copper coins and a silver one," he answers, setting a muffin on the counter with the same sluggish grace that all of his movements have.

Lilium set the coins on the counter, thanked the shopkeep, stepped outside, and sat down to begin eating the muffin. She glanced over at the shop next to the bakery, the blacksmiths words running through her mind as she ate.

It sure is hard to believe a cauldron could come to life and attack someone... But for some reason, I can't totally shake the feeling that guy isn't totally lying. I guess I wont know until I see for myself.

After finishing, she walked over to the Alchemist's house and knocked on the door.

OOC: I'm declaring a state of emergency. As Scorpionius has been MIA for nearly a month, I will be taking over as GM. Assuming, of course, that this roleplay is merely dormant rather than dead.

IC: A man slides a tray of steaming bread onto one of the multitudinous shelves behind the counter. As Lilium opens the door, a bell tinkles. His attention turns to her, and he turns to look at her with mild eyes.

It takes him a second to respond; his voice is slow and sleepy. "May I interest you in a muffin? Blueberries are in season."

"I see, well that sounds fine." She answered, moving to pull some coins from a pouch at her hip. "How much will that be?"

Despite no provocation, it is decreed by Queen Mimi I that the School of Magic must die.

Move the northern Lander to the coast, and begin building a beachhead.
Have the B-Chopper engage the Infantry and Heavy Infantry.
Move the T-Chopper to the marked spot, then disembark the Heavy Infantry.

Board the Heavy Infantry and Tank on the lander, then move it to the marked area, and if possible, disembark the Heavy Infantry onto the mountain.
    Continue Defense I Research.

    Here be orders:

Build a Lander on the port marked in Orange.

Extend the roads as marked, if possible.
Load the 2nd Heavy Infantry Division onto the T-Chopper, then move the T-Chopper towards the B-Chopper Divisions.
Move the 1st Light Armor towards the port.

Move the Scouting Lander as far north as possible.

    Continue research into Defense 1.
