Frankly, I like how you have set up the lighting. All the light fixtures are quite decorative and pleasing to look at, and some of the shadows add depth to the color of areas like the floor.

Anyway, stunning build so far! I'm looking forward to seeing what changes/additions you make in the future. :-)

Great use of the stair block! The arch work and wall detailing really add flair to your build. Love your screenshot-taking abilities as well. Way to make your castle seem massive and your walls towering.

I couldn't find the download for the texture pack, so I just played the map using good ol' Painterly. Didn't hurt the visuals one bit. In fact, the map's scenery was absolutely beautiful, especially the castle area at the end. Puzzles were enjoyable, well constructed, and sufficiently clued to give the player an idea of what to do without giving away the solution.

The one aspect I didn't much care for in this map was the dialogue in books. There were no indications of when the speaker changed back to the player, and consequently made it confusing as to who was doing the talking. And as Coryman125 mentioned, the broken English also made it somewhat hard to get into the story (forgivable though, as English isn't even your native language!).

That said, he was on the mark when he said that you don't need a good story to have a great map, and a great map this was! Obviously, enormous amounts of thought and effort were poured into this adventure, and I hope it receives much more recognition than it's gotten so far. I wish you people luck in building part 2, and look forward to seeing what you come up with next! :D

This is definitely one of those builds where you wish everything can suddenly come to life. How sweet it would be if the propellers started whirling and the all the balloons started drifting- it would be like watching something out of a sci-fi flick. Very cool and imaginative work on this steam punk universe. Love the elaborate air crafts and forested gardens!

Hello, BlockMage. I apologize for for the spelling errors you came across with on your adventure, but you have to understand that I am not a native english speaker and NemesisVM did not have enough time to rewrite all the texts I inserted after he created the story.

No problem. Honestly, I'm just grateful that you went to the trouble of making such a high quality map in your nonnative language. Gives monolingual people like me a chance to experience the adventure in it's fullest!

And I know that the obvious hints could spoil some puzzles for some people, but there are not many on par with you, and even with those hints, as hard as it may seem to believe, some may still have difficulties solving them.

    Understandable.

As for the number of diamonds you had in the end, the diamond blocks you receive in the treasure room do not count, so it is very hard for me to believe that you found more than 50 diamonds, as some of them were almost impossible to find. If you did, I apologize for not trusting you, it's just that I know how hard it is to get all of them.

Hehe, I was wondering if I was going to get by with that. ^^ The actual number of diamonds I had before breaking down the blocks was somewhere around 41-42. (I can't check the exact number- they all got blasted into oblivion :P )

Also, I want to thank you for all the praises brought to the map as well as for the criticism, it is very important for me to get feedback. I know the story was not that good, but we handled it just after we made the map, and I had no idea what kind of story would blend with the temple, so I had to come out with this low level story.

Thank you again, you made my day with this comment,
    Shpitzy

I meant every single of those complements I wrote. And as far as the story goes, I'd rather have a map with incredible gameplay and a mediocre story than a map with horrible gameplay and a wonderful story.

P.S. I would very much apreciate it if you could tell me what KOTS is, as I have never heard of it before. Thank you in advance

Wow! This may very well be one of the best maps I've played (and I've played a LOT of puzzle maps). IMO, it's on par with KOTS, if not better in some ways. The builds in this map are massive and gorgeous, and the utilization of glitches and Minecraft mechanics in the puzzles is ingeniously executed. This map is also one of the lengthiest I've played: a quality that pairs very well with the merits mentioned above. My only gripes with the map are the fair number of spelling errors, the way that signs sometimes spoonfeed you the answers to what to do for some of the puzzles, and lastly the lack of a real story (the riddles were nice tho!). Other than those few flaws, this map is in many ways perfect, and I hope its popularity will continue to escalate- it deserves the attention! :D

I finished the map with well over 50 diamonds (not a very hard thing to do considering some of the treasures in the last room), and with every piece of gold armor except for the pants. I had to cheat my way past some of the parkour sections for reasons: A. to spare my sanity, and B. most of the map was played at 20 FPS or lower, and sprinting or jumping onto a moving piston caused it to dip down into the single digits, making platforming pretty much impossible :|

posted a message on Question about randomness. (or something.)
No. The odds of rolling a 1 are 1 in 6. The odds of flipping five coins and their all coming up tails (the outcome you would need to simulate a roll of 1) is 1/32.

Edit: that was my 42nd post. :)

Sooo much creativity... where does it all come from?! I've always been a big fan of your builds (despite this being the first one I've commented on). You have such a colorful and unique style; I've never seen anything like it, not in Minecraft, nor in art in general.

M'kay, here's the next riddle. Not a very difficult one.

I'm often given without being sought.
For more than two pennies I'm seldom bought.
When labled humble, I'm usually not.
I revel in the center of wars most hot.
If you wanted a second then you hated the first.
If you asked for the truest then you're set to get hurt.

Same thing we do every year, Pinky... Try to traumatize small children by forcing them to reach into a boiling cauldron for their candy!!!

I dress up in hooded robes and loom ominously and in complete silence behind a big plastic cauldron with a bowl of candy inside floating over a layer of water and dry ice. :D

"Ash of trees" sounds like paper.

"And so, I wear a hat of silver.
I dress in a yellow coat,
    Pale and peach inside.
" A pencil fits that description.

    "Provides groundwork for art"

    Is it graphite, aka lead?

posted a message on How to fill big basin with water?
Easiest way to fill a basin without using mods is to put a layer of dirt one block below the water level and then place buckets of water in a diagonal across the basin. After the water spreads and goes still, dig out the dirt and you are good to go.

A simple rule to keep in mind when working with water is that two source blocks (still water blocks) that are adjacent to an air block will create a new source block where the air block was, provided there is a solid block underneath the air block.

Finally, I believe that water only freezes if it is exposed to the sky, so, if you want to prevent the pool from freezing, you could try building a roof over it.

Heh, I just make it from scratch using my own recipes for the dough, sauce, and cheese blend. A bit time consuming, but runs rings around anything that you can buy (in both taste and cost!).

My golden retriever puppy, Cedar, probably about four months old in this image.

    Alas, she just turned a year old a few days ago, and is no longer the little fuzzball she once was. *Sigh*, I miss when she was a tiny puppy. ;_;

Then again, I don't miss cleaning up pee.
