I can very much promise it sir! However, there is going to be a raiding/PvP aspect to to it. I'm hoping that people will be able to follow the rule I've put in place about minimum griefing when raiding. If all else fails I have plugins that will bring back things that get blown to smitherenes. c: Welcome aboard! Join any time you like!
Apparently adding the actual server IP is not a significant enough change for a bump explaining so, and therefore warrants an infraction on my account? Anyone want to explain that to me? Well then, in other news, YES THE IP HAS BEEN ADDED! Feel free to join and walk around and stuff! Spawn is under construction still but it is functional enough that you guys can run out into the wild and build on your own or with friends!
FPSNetwork.org is a brand-spanking new gaming community sponsored by UbiquityServers and Darkstar LLC. We've got a fantastic, diverse, expanding community and we've recently expanded into the Minecraft server area! We're starting off with a 50 slot Public Server for anyone to play on. If this server goes well, we will more than likely add more to it, as well as make other servers!
Hi guys! I'm BananaStroker from FPSNetwork.org. I'm the Head Admin of Minecraft over at FPSN. I manage the server, and anything else related to Minecraft. I also help out other Admins when/where I can, but that's beside the point! Currently, our Minecraft server is not open to the public, but I am making this thread to show you what is in store for anyone who would like to join! First of all, the how. How do you go about joining this wonderful server might you ask? Well, it really is quite simple! Just post the following details in the correct format in either this thread, or the one I have going on OUR forums. (Preferrably the one in ours simply because I check that more frequently).
Name:
Age:
Minecraft Username:
Steam Username (If Any):
Steam ID (If you have Steam):
There you go! It's that easy! The reason you need to do this is so that we can help keep the server safe from griefers. That way you can enjoy your un-destroyed creations, and the Admins who manage the server can sleep easier knowing we've made our server as safe as we can! Anyways, ON TO THE MEAT AND PERTERTERS! (Potatos).
So what exactly does our server offer? Lets start with the plugins! When we first conceived the idea of making a Minecraft server, we wanted to make something that wasn't just generic survival, but at the same time, wasn't so heavily overloaded with billions of plugins that do all sorts of pointless stupid things. We wanted a server that was Survival, with a twist! As stated earlier, the server is still not online due to the recent 1.3 update. Though it will be very soon! The plugins that we have decided to include are as follows:
1. Heroes - The ultimate RPG plugin. It makes PvP and even just general Minecraft that much more fun!
2. TreeAssist - Treefeller, Choptree, etc, etc. Break the bottom tree block, the rest all falls.
3. BuyCraft - A "premium" account type thing. Read on for more details.
4. MobDisguise - Players can disguise as mobs!
5. AntiCheat - Helps us Admins with cheaters and hackers alike!
6. CoreProtect - All your creations are safe from griefers!
7. Orebfuscator - Anti-Xray stuff!
8. WorldGuard + WorldEdit - If you don't know what this is...
9. VoxelSniper - More advanced Terrain editing.
10. CommandsEx - Gives some basic server commands such as TP's, /home. That good stuff!
11. PermissionsEx - Well, prevention of anarachy and stuffs.
12. Factions - Team up with your friends and beat up other Factions!
And we're changing all the time!
We aim to keep our server in a constant state of growth, be it the Member database, the plugins we use, or the experience our users have! We want the most optimal playing experience possible for ALL of our players!
Our servers are generously operated by two very wonderful sponsors; Darkstar LLC, and Ubiquity Servers. So while a large chunk of our server operating costs are covered, donations are still very much welcome! It helps us add more to the towers that operate our fine servers, such as RAM, to help the server run smoother. In the end, donations from anyone mean benefits for ALL! But, don't think we don't treat our donaters well! No, no, no! They get a special in-game rank, as well as monthly, weekly, and for short periods of time, DAILY rewards! Things like items, in-game currency, protection benefits, and all sorts of other bells and whistles!
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, PLEASE leave a reply here, Private Message me on the FPSN Forums (Not here because I don't check that) or leave a response under THIS TOPIC on OUR Forum!
Oh boy, a default edit. This has never been done before, every single day. You're so original.
Hey, leave the guy alone. So what it's a default edit? Is there a rule that says he can't modify the default texture pack to his liking and then share it? There's nothing wrong with it. IMO it's a pretty decent pack. The GUI is great, and what he's done with the mobs is pretty creative too.
Oh beauty! It runs perfectly! However, I do still have one question, is there a way I can reduce the loading time when switching texture packs of resolutions higher than 128x? It takes saaa long.. :/ The same with loading worlds, it will be lightning fast to load the chunks and such, but it will display a black screen for like 40-50 seconds before displaying my game and actually allowing me to play.. :sad.gif: I can deal with it if it's not changeable, but does anyone know how? :3
Sorry, lol, it was late last night and I guess I forgot to add in that whenever I try the 256x or 512x packs, minecraft crashes trying to switch texturepacks with the out of memory error.
I have a question about texture packs. I enjoy using SPHAX PureDBCraft, a lot. I currently use the 128x version of the pack, and I feel like my computer should be able to handle at least the 256, if not, the 512x version. The specs for my PC are as follows;
OS: 64-bit Windows Home Premium
Processor: Intel i3-2120
Graphics Card: Radeon HD 6850 w/ 1GB built-in memory
Memory/RAM: 8GB
I would like to know if based on those specs, my computer SHOULD be able to run 512x or even 256x texture packs, AND how can I do this? Also if someone could explain why load times for things like switching texturepacks in the menu, and loading screens in MC for both SP and MP are so slow, that would be great! :smile.gif:
Looks good but I don't think you can get 2 more sticks because I think the motherboard only has 2 slots for RAM.
****, uh, then which motherboard should I get? Because I would like to upgrade to 8GB RAM at some point. Especially because my Birthday is like two months after Christmas, so I could probably do it then. :S

Done.
So if I need to I can just buy another set of the 2x2 RAM? And that will be compatible with the mobo?
Any other final suggestions? :3
Thanks for all your help guys! It's really appreciated!
