Hoooyyyy. I'm still alive, guys, I promise.

There haven't been a lot of requests to continue my work, unfortunately. Ah, everyone has their own projects, so I can't complain. However, someone did ask about picking up Timberrrrr mod, so that's cool.

I'll let you guys know if he decides to work on it. Who knows? Maybe he'll even do a better job than I did :tongue.gif:

I love the mods! They are all amazing!

I had a problem with only 1 mod. The bladed bow kept screwing over my game.

    *snip*

I believe the problem is that you're using Risugami's Arrows mod, not 303's Arrows mod. Am I incorrect? Try using the vanilla version if you're only using Risugami's Arrows mod, or use 303's Arrows mod instead.

I took this advice and decompiled the class file for Half-block Insanity. I was disappointed to see that my shape requests wouldn't work, as the block shapes are defined only by two opposite corners. The new shapes I really want are more complex than that, unfortunately.

Now that I've seen the code, I have to say this would be an easy mod for someone to pick up and support. I hope someone does so, I simply don't have the time or patience to support a mod. Especially with the entitlement attitude some people have in this community.

I believe there is a way to change the shapes in a more complex manner, however it requires a different type of function. Ahh.. it's been a while since I've worked on that. I believe MCP calls it... Axis-Aligned Bounding Boxes (AABB)? I was looking into it, as well, but never got that far. I think Notch used the AABB stuff for things like Wooden/Cobble Stairs? But I don't know if you can change it based on metadata so easily.

I have some new half-block shapes to request, so I'd really like to see this mod continue or get picked up by another modder. I'd take a crack at it myself, but I have no experience with Minecraft mods yet. Any chance of releasing the source code to the general public, or are you reserving that just for the person who takes over?

I'm not really sure what would be in the best interest of... well, everybody. I know there's controversy as to what Notch approves and disapproves of. While I doubt making the source code completely public would anger him outright, I have to respect his wishes in not distributing his code unnecessarily.

Since I don't take the mod-patcher route, just about anyone can take one of my mods and decompile it themselves. I don't use MCP, so what you get from decompiling one of my mods is pretty much the same as what you'd get if I sent you the source code. It's still obfuscated, and whatnot.

If you want to go ahead and do this sort of thing, feel free to. All that I ask is that you PM me prior to releasing any such code or mods to the forums in your own thread. I'd like to keep tabs on who is doing what... it may help prevent three different version splits of Half Step Insanity from being developed at once, etc.

I -would- rather give the files to someone who's more knowledgeable, but I wouldn't mind giving you the files for just this mod, as long as you keep in touch via PM, seeing as no one else has asked about it yet. Let me know what you think, and such.

Ah, this applies to anyone else who may have a similar question about another mod of mine. All you need to do is ask -- the worst I can do is say no :tongue.gif:

Little glitch with your half block insanity mod. Sometimes the halfblock in inventory randomly changes forms. It works perfectly fine but its kinda annoying when it constantly changes form when holding it in hand or when I have it in inventory. I dont even know if its caused by the mod itself or by some other mods I have (Better light would be candidate). Since it works I can ignore it, but I wanted to let you know that its not completely without problems.

Yup. I already knew about this, and addressed the issue in the thread when I released 'Insanity (though I don't mention it on the front page). I'm not entirely sure how to fix it... I'm pretty OCD about that kind of thing, too... but I'd much rather have the mod working rather than not. Anyway, no other mods are the cause of this, I can assure you -- Is completely my code's fault.

Thanks, guys :3 I appreciate the support. Just stopping by cause I updated the front page... It's not much. Just showing that Warp Arrows & Prefix Skeletons are both available on 303's page, and linking to his thread. Later, everyone~

Hi Ayutashi, I finally updated Prefix Skeletons to 1.2_02: it's on my topic.

Wow, thanks! I really appreciate this, 303! I would have gotten around to it eventually... I think xD But help is always lovely. I'm sure the fans will enjoy it, as well. I'll post this on the front page soon~

    ----------

Also, a bit of sad news for you guys, perhaps. I'm now officially working again, so updates will be pushed back even further. It -is- an at-home position for now, so... I can hop on the forums occasionally. As much as I want to apologize, this is important for me. I need to really get my butt in gear, as far as life goes. So please understand if updates are really far and few from now on... Even with what I've got, I'm going to continue putting in applications for the local area. Things are harsh right now, and the income is needed.

If any other modders are wanting to pick up where I left off, please contact me via PM me on what you'd like to work on. I'd rather not do that sort of thing, but it's kind of selfish to keep you all waiting because I don't feel like I have enough time to balance work, family, and personal projects.

I know it will be long before you come back but I don't want to forget this request so I'm gonna ask it now. I would really like saplings to have a chance of growing into birch and pine tree. Thanks.

They don't do so? Figured Notch should of thought of that. Ah, might be something significant to tweet him about. Like I said, I won't have time to do -new- things for a while, sorry. If I did work it in later, it'd probably be part of Equivalent Exchange or something. If nothing else, it is a worthy request.

Can you make a mirror to mediafire?

The dropbox links work just fine.

Yeah... not sure why this is a big deal. Dropbox is superior for small files like mods, in my opinion. You don't even need to worry about a new web page popping up.

Also, thanks for keeping tabs around here so often, Vishnaborg x3

Hi, since Exchange and Half-Steps both have sj.class changes, is there a way to get them to work together? I did some searching but no definitive answers.

Ahhh.. Since having half steps are important for the 'Insanity mod, the EXChange part is already implemented. You can install EXChange, then 'Insanity over it. In fact, I use EXChange's sj.class/HalfStep.class as a base for updating 'Insanity every time.

    ----------

Are the current mods compatible with 1.2_02? I'm assuming so, but if you guys find anything, I'll mark it on the front page as not compatible. Thanks in advance~

Hey everyone. Small blurb on the front page. Yeah, I'll be missing from here for a few more days, at least.

Things come up, eh? I need to sort some stuff out, and I'm also preparing to start work up again. It won't be much, a work-at-home sort of thing, but I still want to take it seriously.

Therefore, new content won't be available for a while, probably, 'till I get use to all this. I know updates have been lacking in the first place... :\

Anyway, I'll try to be "back" within the next week, ready to slowly churn out updates again xD I won't really be gone completely, but I doubt I'll feel like programming!

It's better than just disappearing without a single word, at least ;3

I think I know why arrows push people now... They're solid entities like mobs. If you can unset their solidness then they won't push you when you shoot the arrows anymore.

Yeah, I kinda figured it had something to do with that. But 303 has already fixed this x3 303 Arrows 1.2v2.

Also, I know my front page is messy... but jeez o.o Come on guys, you can read, really. I'm pretty sure the last PrefixSkeletons file even says "1.2.6" on it. As in, Alpha 1.2.6. -.-

Is the mob spawner thing updated for 1.2 yet?

Since it's under the "Not updated yet" section, I'd assume not.

Ahh... It was supposed to be finished today x_X But... not likely. Haven't had the time, sorry! I'm going to mess with it tomorrow I hope. Definitely next on my list...

@Ayutashi: 303 updated that glitch with his arrow mod you were posting about in his thread where you automatically move. Have you put that fix in your bladed bow yet? I'm not even sure if it was mod_Arrows.class that holds the fix, but if it is, you should check that out.

Thanks. I did notice this, and downloaded a copy. I really -assume- that it's not mod_Arrows.class that needed the fix. I just spent the two minutes it took to decompile, insert my code and recompile again ._. So it's available for download if you feel like you need it. I don't think it's mandatory, though! Please correct me if I'm wrong~

    Disappoint.

I fixed Bladed Bows earlier today... it's available. Please redownload the file.
It fixes the problem for both versions where melee attacks won't work. Not sure why they wouldn't, but... they do now, so that's all that matters.

I've been working hard on Custom Mob Spawners today. I got a great working version, but... things really fell apart when I tried to add some new features. Man... Now it won't even load at all. I really need a break, though. I'm going to start fresh tomorrow.

New features to be expected :: CMS will now return with Dungeon spawner properties. These are separate from the hand-placed ones, so you can edit what the world places while randomly generating again. Also, I wanted to implement the features Corosus used in his Nightmare mod, specifically the ones that edit spawners. There should be a new feature that allows you to customize spawning delays, areas, and so forth.

Also, a complete reworking of the "Random" feature. Now, when you turn Random=On, as well as... for example, Zombies, Skeletons, and Spiders =On, the spawners you place will keep a list of these mobs. That way, each Random spawner is completely unique from one another.

Unfortunately, trying to do all of this at once made things complicated somehow. I thought I was doing fine, but... huff ><

You should really write a description in the main post for the half steppes, I see that you wrote : "Please check out my latest posts in this thread" but you know have more then 500 replies and I really wont search through a dozen page to only find your post. Also a readme file would be nice in the zip.

ps. No offense, but its really annoying when somebody only posts the changelogs, not the pourpuse of the mod.

Mrrr... It's not really a changelog. It's a blurb, talking about the differences back when I updated Inverted Half Steps to Half Step Insanity, when they were both still available on the front page. Forgive the mindless copy&paste job, eh? I know it's a bit much to read through, but there -are- instructions there, as well as at least a vague idea of what it may do.

I'm more worried about the mod working than anything else.

I also posted recently about cleaning up most of these blurbs soon. I intend to do so. After the more important stuff is done.

Oh and Ayu, actually, it's not just you. Shooting arrows DOES push me to the left just a tiny bit.

Makes three people! Good. Saves me from having to test it again xD Thanks~

Also, I took note of the issue on no melee damage :\ Seems sad. I'll fix this today!

Although a some of these mods - pluckin' crazy and treedrops, at least - may seem rather simple, I've come to realize how important they've become to me since the beta 1.2 update. I love them so much now, I get so antsy if I can't get apples from cutting down trees XD But anyways, these are really awesome mods. Thank you very much for all your hard work! :iapprove:

Thanks :happy.gif: I think I really need this kind of praise lately. I've been a bit distracted with non-MC things, and... haven't been working here as much as I should. I keep telling myself, if nothing else, people need the mods I've already made! So, I keep coming back to update at least, ehehe x3

Uh, yeah, you don't damage mobs whatsoever now with the bladed bows. Smacking them does nothing, unlike hitting them with your bare fist...

Looks like I'm getting raped by that werewolf again.

Specifically, I've got the 303 version installed.

Aheh. :happy.gif:; Hrm, maybe the methods changed or something without me realizing it. I'll look into this. You also saw I had some issues with 303 Arrows, so... Maybe I screwed something up there!

I'm a bit sleepy though.. So this will be done in the morning ><

    Quote from Tanuki_Shiro »
Shocker is also having problems with his emerald dust tool repair, too. Maybe you can work together on that part.

One more thing, do you mind fixing the snow mod for beta 1.2? Many thanks.
    viewtopic.php?f=25&t=131320&start=0

Thankfully it's not me! I guess something Notch changed made it so that partially damaged items are -no longer- equal to healthy ones. This is interesting...

EDIT :: Just saw that Seronis has his ToolRepair mod updated. This should hopefully have the key to what both Shocker and I need. However... it's a bit too late for me xD Might as well not change it back I suppose. People are probably happier with the indestructible bows.

Ahh, the snow? Well.. I still have lots to do -.- I'm going to go ahead and say no for now, for most requests, until I get the other things done first. There are even requests in the past couple of pages I could work on before something like that.

Woo! Do I get my own 500th reply? :3 Eheh.

Huzzah, everyone. I has updates. Exciting, isn't it?

Looks like Bladed Bows, TreeDrops & Pluckin' Crazy are updated for all of you :3 Everything should work just as before... with the exception of Bladed Bows now ignoring durability loss. But that was covered a few posts ago!

TreeDrops, Pluckin' Crazy, and the other mods that have graduated to Settings GUI no longer support the old manual format! So there will only be a single version of these from here on out.

Also, someone asked previously about TreeDrops' "No Drop" setting. I believe the concern was increasing this setting had little effect? I tested it, albeit shortly. On a few normal-sized trees (perhaps a couple leaf blocks worth of difference), I tested this at the default setting, as well as Nothing=100. At a normal setting, I gained approximately 30 drops per tree. With Nothing=100, I ended up with around 20 instead. This isn't the effect I would have imagined, but... It's still significant. If you really want to tone down the number of drops, raise Nothing pretty high, and lower the other settings a bit!

Still need to update PrefixSkeletons, Custom Mob Spawners, Timberrrrr, and Saint Notch. Those will be coming tomorrow-ish and the next day, probably :3

Since I've had trouble updating these mods, please do let me know of bugs! I'm sure there are many to squash...

I dunno. It's something slightly more "realistic" but... not so balanced! It'd need some work if Notch was to include it :3

You mean 24 golden apples after a half hour of tree removal is not balanced? XD

Ahaha. ^^; Well, considering the new cake item... I guess it's a question of materials vs time, then? :tongue.gif:

Hum. I really need to get coding today x_X I should have been doing more last night! But.. a friend and I got to talking a bit about a game he's working on, and he's entrusted me to work on class design drafts. Pretty fun stuff,
and now it's kinda hard to put it down. Oy. I promise I'll get something done today, guys!

On another note... I have an ancient blog page that has been rotting away recently. I may consider moving a lot of my MC mod information there (blurbs, details, new pictures, video, etc) so it's a bit easier to read through. I'd leave everything here, of course! Just condense things a bit. I just feel like the front page has become a big mess, really <.<

Gonna see if I can save my current entries and start anew, though >.< Don't need to bore you guys with some of the stuff on there, heh.
