posted a message on [Request] MCShop: A store that looks and functions like a real store

I've been playing Minecraft for a long time now, and what's really been frustrating me is the lack of mods that really focus on the aesthetic sides of an economy. There are plenty mods that introduce money into Minecraft or a basic trading system with NPC's, but most of those entail opening up a menu and scrolling until you find the thing you want, are not very customizable and are often limited to selling a few items at a time. On the opposite end, there are also mods that let you make really pretty stores but they don't do anything. What I want to do is bring both those things together and make a mod that feels and functions like a store, while still keeping all the customizing Minecraft brings. Unfortunately, I am not a coder, nor do I have the time or money right now to learn, so the best I can do right now is offer up my idea and hope that someone is interested enough to take it up. I can also help with textures and models if that something someone needs, but that's not entirely necessary for this mod. Anyway, here's my mod idea and hopefully, someone wants to adopt this poor boy.

    MCShop:

    Blocks: Shop Block, Display Tables

    Items: Catalogue

    How it works

    1) Craft a shop block, catalog and some chests

    2) Place whatever items you want to sell in the chests

    3) right click chests with the catalog and the catalog will save their locations

    4) right click the shop block with the catalog and now your chests are linked with the shop block

    5) open up the block and select your preferences

    Shop Block Gui:

Catalogue: this will list all of the item your chest. There will be a side the lets you decide the currency you want to use in your store as well as a plus-minus sign under each item to help you set a price for the item. There also be an option for whether you want to be able to sell items indefinitely or have things go out of stock.

Shop Keeper: This lets you spawn an NPC to be your shopkeeper, it can be a villager or a cow or a creeper, whatever. Customers can right click on the NPC to see a list of your wares and your prices and make a transaction. (If possible, shop owners can have the NPC say certain things when the transaction is done)

Menu: this lets you decide what items the shopkeeper can show as well as the name of the store.

So once you are done with that, wallah! You got a functioning store. But wait! That's not the end because all you really got is just a few chests and a talking cow! When does the aesthetic come in? Well right about now with Display Tables!

Display tables can be one block or many blocks depending on how far this mod goes. Basically, they function as chests but unlike boring old chest that you constantly have to open just to see what's inside, these show all your items all pretty like for any passerby to admire. They can be tables or shelves, armor stands, and crates, anything that you would put items on if you were in a real shop. And not only do they work to show customers what you have but they can also show other info as well. By right-clicking them you can open up a GUI that contains two tabs an inventory and a menu. The inventory will contain all your items and the menu will let you adjust what want to see the display. You have the item display its name, it's price, if it's enchanted. If it a weapon you can also show simple stats like it damage points or durability. Armor and food can show the same. Basically, anything you want that lets your customer come up with a smart and well-informed choice about their purchase.

I have more ideas for this mod, but those are just icing on what I think would be a really cool cake. It would be really great if this got some support, otherwise, I'll have to wait until I'm done with school to start working on this. Anyway, thank you for making it this far! I might come back to put some pictures to help visualize my idea better. :)

posted a message on [Modded Minecraft] Modern Japanese Town

I've been building a modern Japanese Town, from scratch and it's fun but a lot of effort and I've been wondering what I should do with it once I'm done. I'm not good enough with redstone and coding to turn it into an adventure map and there are too many mods installed to just throw it on here and expect people to download the 50 sum odd mods that's required to actually play this world. It's going to take me a while to finish (there's a lot to do) but I would love to, in the end, share this with people, instead of having this sit on my computer till the end of times. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

Here are some pictures so that people can get an idea.

I looked around the Japanese Minecraft forums and i found a few addons (+ tons of skins) on their wiki. Sadly no ai addons that I want (I really want a crafting or farming addon for my maids). But they might be useful for you. https://github.com/asiekierka/littleMaidMobX/wiki

Thanks again for taking up this mod.

posted a message on [MOD IDEA] Market Crates: An attractive way to show food!

Is this mod still happening? I would love to have this mod, since I'm building a lot of markets and would love to display food. I would use cooking plus but it's only in 1.8 and my most essential mods are still in 1.7. :(

posted a message on CultureCraft - 3D Samurai Armor! - A Taste of Japan! PR 0.2 Available (25/08/2015)

Yay! Thank you for the update and thank you so much for making this mod. I have been super obsessed with creating Japanese building in Minecraft but outside of the Japanese Minecraft forum there haven't been many helpful mods. I'm really glad you started this and I really love your cherry blossom. I was wondering if you were interested in creating Japanese festive things (Taiko drums, masks, ect.) anytime in the future. I would really love it since none of the Japanese mods I have found so far really have anything like that. Thank you again! :)

posted a message on [1.2.2] MCAnimator | Windows, Mac & Linux | Important fixes! | Create your models, animate them, paint your textures

I know this is probably a really stupid question to ask but I'm getting too frustrated to think. Is there a way to rotate the screen? I figured out how to move up and down, left, right, forward and back, but when I want to turn to look sideways i can't find the key to do so. I'm using this program on a mac with no mouse, so maybe I need a mouse to turn?

This is probably really obvious, I'm just frustrated cause I can't figure it out. :-/

I'm trying to input the demo pack that you guys provide for this mod but I'm kind of confused. The directions say to place the config and resource pack in the same place as the actual mod, which I assume is the "mod" folder. However whenever i place those two folders in there nothing shows up in game. The mod itself works fine, but I can't figure out where the config and resource pack are supposed to go. Please help, I'm very confused and really want to play with this mod. T-T

posted a message on Modders, Modlers, and Texturers Wanted

I am working on a mod called the Yokai mod but I need some help to actually get it going. The mod is takes folklore and culture from japan and puts it in minecraft. I have a website for anyone who wants to learn further what the mod is going to entail:
    https://sites.google...youkaicraftmod/

Here's what I need to get this mod on the road:

3 modders - for now I just need 3 who know what their doing and know a little more than the basics, I also would like to have at least 1 that can animate models
1 to 2 modlers - people who are skilled with techne and can make some good quality models Filled
1 texturer - someone who's pretty good a making textures, specially in 36 and 64 bit resolution Filled

    (***special position****)
If someone knows japanese fluently and knows some of the culture, that would be great. I don't know any japanese, so I have been using google translate, but you know.... google translate.... Anyway I need someone like a translator to double check my japanese so I'm not saying "butt face" when I mean "shadow" or something. Thanks. :)

    How to Apply:
just post in the comments the following:

    Minecraft Name:
    Position:
    Skype Name (MUST):
Experience: (This can be names of previous mods you've worked on, texture packs or pics of models you've made)
Team Name: (what do think would be a good team name?)

How will you know you got in?
I will private message you if you do get in. :)
