posted a message on Dokucraft, The Saga Continues.

Hello people, it has been a long time. By sheer luck I went back to the thread today and realized someone was working on connected textures.

I am the one who did the Sandstone CTMs that you've been talking about, as well as the Lapis one (which is actually supposed to be the top of the block texture, the side one being different, I'm also not sure it was supposed to be in the stack in the first place).

Apparently the regular Sandstone one was missing from the stash. I did them for my own project back then (which explain the weird color) but they ended up gathering dust in my hard drive, so nice to see they could serve a purpose. If people are interested by them for the main pack then here they all are:

And here is a link to the individually cut Sandstone textures pictured above, in the old MCPatcher format: http://www.mediafire.com/file/qz0owwwmy3ouxqo/Sandstone Block by Archibald TK.zip

Within the spoiler is a red version (and a random picture), but you'll have to cut it manually.

It's only for Dokucraft thought, please do not use them in your own personal pack!

Tell me if you need me to upload all of them as individually cut 32x textures.

Hi everybody. I've been working off-and-on towards making the BiomesO'Plenty mod compatible with Dokucraft.

Thanks for your work, sorry for not having it updated correctly with your textures back then.

Does anybody have the original Aether 2 support with the orange trees and the sentry golems?

This is what I had on my hard drive, from an old Dokustash. AFAIK they're not on transparent background thought:

Thank you for your patience, especially to everyone who's stayed on this thread waiting months for a new release. In addition to the out-of-the-box functionality (no more going to Github to compile), there are several bug fixes, to leaf decay, thorn bushes, and ocean temples! Sorry but no stairs and slabs yet.

    Thanks for all your work!

@Aoku (Did you just change your name?)

Regarding the Aether Bone Ring, I'm not sure what a ring made out of bone can really look like so I took a normal ring and tried to mess it up. I don't know if it will do but here it is (I added a zoomed version so that you can have a better look):

    - EDIT In my typical "never happy" fashion I did a few successive edits, I think it'll look less ugly that way

Hey Archibald I understand your case I would gladly have your job as mod support but I have some questions.

1 Do you have access to the site?

2 Is your name in credits?

    3 I thought I had more questions than this but I don't.

Keep in mind to is not up to me who would take care of the job afterward, but up to the other guys to decide. To answer your questions:
1/ Yes, as you have to create new pages for the mods.
2/ You mean in the title screen? Dunno, I didn't really ask myself that question but I don't think so, at least I never saw it (thought Mod Support is kind of a separate beast from the main pack, and I only contributed a single texture to Dokucraft Light itself). Plus aren't the credits super old? I always saw a lot of names that I didn't know at all in them.

Anyway, don't take care of Mod Support for fame and glory, lol, this is not how it works. It is a lot of work and your main satisfaction will come form download numbers, but few people will know about contributors. At the beginning I was putting .txt files in the support listing all of the contributors names of all of the textures I used out of respect, but they were all purged from the mods for some reason (that I do not agree with, whatever they may be btw).

    PS-

Can someone test the new 1.8 mod support for BoP? I tried to combine the old pack with the new textures I was sent to make it compatible with both 1.7 and 1.8 but it would be nice if people could confirm that everything is working right.

    Hi people.

[THIS IS THE PART YOU CAN SKIP IF YOU DON'T LIKE WALLS OF TEXT]

So as many have noticed my job at dealing with mod support has been less than stellar, and by that I mean that people probably don't even know I'm supposed to do it in the first place since I barely do anything anymore. At the beginning I was very enthusiastic, reworked a very large amount of textures and it was a blast to work on all of these mods no matter how time consuming it was supposed to be.

Except that there is a little problem, my enthusiasm for MC was a big motivator, which brings me to the current situation: I haven't really touched MC for ages now. Thought I will no doubt come back at it in the future I have currently no desire to play the game.

Mod support is ridiculously time consuming, at least the way I was doing it. Even when dealing with other people work, checking all of the textures in a mod to ensure they don't come from other packs, comparing mod supports to their original mod to remove all of the mods original textures, testing in game, building scenery to take nice pictures...there are supports I never uploaded simply cause there was too much work to do on them...

Working on textures was super fun at first, but hundreds of textures later it was just tedious and I was doing textures that looked like crap for the sake of finishing a pack. I currently can't even see myself opening Photoshop and sitting in front of a texture, and even when I give it a try like a few days ago with the upscaling programs, after only a few hours I'm done for the week and don't even look back.

I have simply too many things currently that I prioritize over MC that I can no longer see myself having responsibilities in a big project like Dokucraft. This just leads to the current situation where I end up not doing the job people are expecting.

[HERE COMES THE "LONG STORY SHORT" PART]

So, while I still want to help if given the opportunity (and I'd still like to drop a few textures from time to time if I'm suddenly attacked by a wild burst of motivation), could you pass the role of mod support manager to someone who is more enthusiastic and motivated about it than I am now?

    Thanks guys!

I've not touched MC for quite some time but it's pretty insane to come back and see the amount of work that has been done on RTG so far. Glad to see Zeno410 joined the fun, you are all doing an awesome job!

Because I forgot about them =/

There are lot of updated textures that I missed or forgot for other packs too... I actually even have textures that I did myself that I forgot...

    Hi guys!

I will spend some time in the following days working on the Mod Support section of the site. I'll try to go through all of your posts looking for the updated supports everybody posted.

At first, I was trying to search to see if there was a plugin for photoshop that could upscale stuff easily, but I found this instead:

    http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/13903-image-resizer-specially-for-upscaling-pixel-art/

the upscaling method I chose was XBR 4x, but you can use the 2x,3x for smaller textures. There's other methods you can use, but i found these to be the best.

My God! Thank you so much for finding that software. I've been toying with it for the past hour and it's so good!

Since he stopped posting he still connected to the forums regularly, but he still stayed silent nonetheless. Whatever happened is a mystery.

If you're looking for updates I suggest you give RTG (a fork of RWG, so kind of a successor now) a try: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/2524489-wip-realistic-terrain-generation-0-0-19

RTG is doing a pretty crazy job when it comes to mod compatibility.

It's not something very important but I have a request that I'd like you to consider if it's not too much work.

For the sake of those who fear that too much Obsidian would imbalance the game, in EB config files you have the option of generating volcanoes with Basalt instead. That option doesn't affect RTG generation as far as I can tell, so do you think it would be possible to have a similar option in the RTG/EB config file?

    Thanks!

Hmm, looks like the volcano got 'cut-off' when transitioning into an EB Badlands biome... would you mind zipping up your config folder and sending me a link? I'll see if I can reproduce the issue and figure out what's going on.
    .

I retested with a minimal amount of mods (even removing Fastcraft). Seed is -5859326416340046218, start flying north and you'll find them immediately.

Mods are EB 2.5 and Highlands 2.2.3, config files for them and RTG are untouched and as they were generated by the mods.

In case it may have an impact, Mapwriter 2.1.9 and Optifine 1.7.10 C1 were also installed.

Hi and thanks for the constant stream of new releases! It's awesome how the mod is shaping up.

I've started traveling through a new world using RTG, Highlands and EB and I'd like to report an issue with EB volcanoes generation. I think it will be easier to show you with pictures:

    NEW RELEASE - RTG 0.0.15

IMPORTANT: Always delete your RTG config folder before updating to newer versions.

    Changelog

    • Fixed issue with structures generating where they shouldn't and causing performance issues.
    • Re-enabled all EB biomes by default..

Awesome last two releases, great job with EB integration.Just a thing I'd like to mention as I'm currently testing a world with both EB and HL:

    - In 0.0.15, Highland's Valley is covered in snow blocks (like the Badlands were in the past). That's the only issue I've noticed so far.
