Lyudmila only lets out a sigh in response to Renard's statement.

"... You do realise that the dragon can understand what you're saying, right?"

As Orson wanders outside, he comes face-to-face with a snowman that looks just like him, sack included.

As Niamh approaches the church, she sees several figures standing outside of it, checking out a few snowmen. Niamh also notices that, the further away from the entrance to the town, the less snowmen there are.

Niamh shouts to these figures as she draws nearer.
"Hello people, I'm looking for someone in charge!"

She takes a small note about the lower amount of snowmen in her vicinity. There must be some sort of strange reason for this.

Magic. The magic of the ancient celtic is very different to other magic of the great vastness of the world. About 20%-25% of ancient celtic decendents are born with magic circuits. There are 4 great systematic that each have 2 types. Therefore there are eight major types. Nobody is sure on the frequency that each is found, but each person that has magic circuits only has the ability to wield one type.

Mana reservoirs in each person grow in size by how old they are, up to a certain extent. However mana circuits get stronger by how much one trains them. Therefore nearly all celtic mages train as most as they can to be able to wield their magic stronger.

Niamh Yotsuba is a wielder of Acceleration-type magic. This branch allows acceleration to be cast upon a target in the vicinity. How large of a target, distance and speed that can be moved changes from acceleration-type mage to other acceleration-type mage. Niamh Yotsuba suffers from being only able to move small objects and not too far away, however her acceleration speed is very, very strong.

The Principal of Observation II features a mana crystal. It absorbs acceleration-type mana that Niamh gives it and transfers it to a mana emitter within the crossbow. It does 2 things.

    • Turn two cogs that turn a belt that draws the string automatically.
    • Activates a series of small shafts that loads the crossbow bolts from the very large magazine underneath it.

    =========

Mana circuits are naturally tough and therefore a mage that has mana can suffer stronger blows then the average person. A strong human punch or kick for example won't do all too much. Sword and arrow wounds are healed slowly by mana circuits provided there is enough mana and that the mage isn't focusing their mind, aka relaxing, meditating, unconcious or asleep.

When a mage runs out of mana, they will find that their mana circuits are deactivated and they suffer from reduced stamina, because their energy is being converted to mana forcefully much stronger then if they are say, 100% or 20%.

As Niamh wanders through the streets, she notices how empty the town is. The fresh snow is devoid of footprints, and besides the occasional snowman (most of which lack faces, having only a bare head), there is no evidence of anything having been here recently. Even the areas around the snowmen is devoid of both footprints and signs of someone moving the snow to create the snowmen.
Eventually, Niamh arrives on a large open town square. In the middle, a lone snowman. To her left, she can see a burnt-down building in the distance, nothing but a smouldering ruin now. In front of her, she can see a road with a church in the distance. To her right, a bridge over a river.

The lack of people or footprints does creep her out a little bit, but with her Principal of Observation II at the ready she remains steadfast. On her travels she has encountered similar looking buildings before and people tend to gather around them to worship. Perhaps she can find someone to talk to there.

She makes her way to this church-looking building in the distance, while keeping a lookout on her surroundings.

Niamh Yotsuba's Principality of Observation II is a semi-automatic repeating crossbow. It relies on Niamh Yotsuba's proficiency of acceleration-type magic to activate and automatically reload and draw bolts.

    ==========================

Niamh Yotsuba steps into the old town. She sees a heck of a lot of snowmen, which is quite strange for her. On her travels she has found snowly places, but not this many snowmen, which ought to be artificially made by people seeking amusement or other.

She makes her way through town looking for people to speak to. Perhaps local townspeople or perhaps some other adventurers. Regardless she would love somewhere to stay for the moment as the load in her backpack is quite heavy.

    Name: Niamh Yotsuba
    Species: Human
Appearance: 5" 5" = 165cm. Female. 18. Black hair. Very brown eyes. Of fair skin. Not particularly fit appearance. Celtic heritage.
Abilities: Possesses one of the eight major types of magic, acceleration magic. Can apply acceleration to small objects (as of now). Limited control but direction and vague strength. Skilled in dual wield dagger, crossbow arts and traditional bow arts. Niamh is a magician. Mana circuits in her body naturally give her additional strength and slightly faster recovery. Punches and the like hurt her slightly less. Non-fatal sword stabbings can heal faster while resting by mana rejuvination. Niamh can also eject bullets, bolts or arrows from herself or others while relaxing and concentrating.
Special Weaknesses (If any): Not athletic or a fast runner due to dedicating most of her life to magic sorcery training, crossbow skills and caring for long-gone family.
Items they have: Principal of Observation II, an advanced magic-operated semi-auto crossbow. 2 small iron daggers. A generic and small-medium sized traditional hunting bow. Quivers.
Backstory (Optional): Niamh is a member of the ancient clan of the celts from the faraway lands. She sets off on a headless journey after her particular village was massacred by looters. She was practicing her archery with 2 of the village elders far away by the cliffs, to return to her friends and family slaughtered and the village plundered. The love of her life Seán and her loving brothers dead. She sets off on an ultimate journey, seeking a meaning in life once again.
Other: A very steadfast character that is not afraid to get stuff done, despite appearances. Will be unlikely to take high-stake gambles after past experiences. Will also plan in advance every detail. Pays attention to other people's characteristics however she does sometimes forget. Spends great time and care maintenancing her weapons and practicing her magic, ever slowly increasing her mana reserves and strengthening her mana circuits.

How many OceanTech technicians does it take to change a lightbulb? None, they are advanced LED lightbulbs that take 100+ to burn out.

Project Point has hit a breaking point. (pun intended)

After successful trials, one of which involved pointing a minigun at the prototype from 1km away and shooting it at full power, the system is to be implemented into a mobile weapon.

The prototype itself is of large enough size, its estimated that it could most likely be mounted onto a OT MBT hull. However, the trailer it is hooked up to isn't such an easy affair. To put it bluntly, it's huge. A very big advanced turbine engine. If you parked 3 semis side by side it would probably be a similar size.

The engineers believe they can decrease the size, armor it up and increase the cables' lengths. However time will tell.

Also the noise from the Project Point prototype was quite the unique one. It was very high pitched. It emitted blue lasers, but for milliseconds.

I'd give Nvidia Shadowplay a try. It uses hardware recording which should be lighter on the PC. Especially if you are getting a GTX 1050.

If you are getting a new budget gpu, I highly recommend the GTX 1050ti over the 1050.

Really optifine need to have a support team at least!

They're a small group of developers making a mod. I believe support should probably be quite low on their to-do list, but you do have a point since they are taking in people's money.

That would technically go against the EULA.

The testing of Elysium prototypes have brought up certain points that may hinder or bring forwards its use.

    • Completely useless against particle cannons, certain magical strikes, lasers and a few other methods.
    • Incompatability with combined arms. Fellow army forces cannot enter within a 500m radius of the Elyisum drone or they risk freezing up.
    • Invunreable against conventional warfare. Melee attacks, bullets, cannon fire, missiles and artillery don't even touch the Elysium Drone.
