    They spawn on their own unless you are using a mod that requires some sort of spawn control.

    Are there plans for Extrabiomes for 1.8.9? I see no mention of 1.8 whatsoever in the main post or the FAQ, not even a statement that you won't be porting EBXL from 1.7.10 to 1.8.


    We have been working on changing EBXL to a core mod, then breaking the biomes into small add ons, which 1-3 biomes in each small add on. We felt that this would allow users to choose more easily the biomes they wanted to use without having to use all if they didn't want them. (There will still be an option to download all biomes if that's what someone wants.) We also felt that this would make the mod easier to update going forward.

    We haven't really been focusing on 1.8 because many major mods either haven't updated to it or have just recently done so...so most people that use mods are still using 1.7.10. That being said, we have talked a bit about updating to 1.8.9. As we only have 1 coder, work is slow, as he works full time and has a family, but work is still going on.

    We don't keep things from other mods from spawning in our biomes. For example I use metallurgy and Plant Mega Pack and their ores and all the plants spawn in the appropriate biomes. I am not sure how BoP works as I have not used it, but I believe they have their own world type. I will ask Allaryin to respond to this as he is the one that does our coding.

    If you look at the Forgotten Nature thread you will see that Nightshade is back and is working on an update. As it's his mod and he's updating it, (then there would be no reason that we need to incorporate it into EB any longer, as this was only being done since he had left for a while and asked us to take it. I would imagine that the 2 will be compatible as they always have been in the past.

    They do work together...we were using it on our server, until about a week ago and all biomes were showing up. We will probably need to see your logs to be able to provide more help.

    There are very few biome ID's available and vanilla has taken up more in the last few versions, and even before that there were over laps in ID's with mods that add more than 2 or 3 biomes.

    I've had Twilight Forest conflict with EBXL as well as with Forgotten Nature. You just need to change the biome ID's in the config file (you can change either the EBXL or the TF config, it doesn't matter which) to something not in use for the ones that are conflicting. Keep in mind it could be more than one that is conflicting. It's late and I'm tired and it's been a while, so I don't remember exactly, but it seems like biome ID's can't go above 256. Depending on how many biome adding mods you are using it should be fairly easy to find an unused ID. Also, keep in mind that some other mods add biomes even though they aren't necessarily considered a biome mod. So depending on what mods you are using, there could be a conflict there as well, so keep that in mind when you are looking for the conflicts.

    Had you not used the mod in a long time? It's not as though these changes are recent. They have been this way since 1.6.2...so probably close to 2 years now? I personally dislike when vanilla oak logs are used on trees added by a mod. What is the point of adding a unique tree and only have the leaves be different? We deliberately took the time to add logs for each type of tree we added and as Master Hill said, the blue trees are based on a real tree that have not only blue bark, but many other colors as well. The autumn trees are based on the color the trees turn in the fall where I live as well as many other places. While I'm sorry that you don't like them, it is impossible to please everyone. As you can see by the responses to your post, there are those that like the trees.

    Thank you to those that posted the positive responses. It is nice to see that what we have done is appreciated.

    Are you meaning you don't want any vanilla biomes to generate? If so, that would not be possible, as some vanilla biomes are hard coded and cannot be turned off. If you are meaning that you don't want other biomes from EB other than savanna, you can turn them off via the config file.

    Yes, the mod is going modular and fantasy biomes would be something in the future that we are looking at adding. LoTR mod is a dimension mod similar to Twilight Forest. LoTR mod would have to make our biomes load in their dimension if we did add that type of biome down the line, which is something they may not want since they already add their own specific biomes.

    We currently are only adding biomes that are true to life, although there is a good chance we might add fantasy type biomes in the future. As the LoTR mod adds those that are specific to the books, I'm not sure that we would want to duplicate what's already been done.

    We've not heard of strawberries causing lag. Vanilla minecraft has a lot of lag even without mods. My game was actually unplayable and I have a good computer. What fixed this was installing Fastcraft and increasing the amount of memory allocated to the game. I now run 160+ mods and the only lag I really experience is when I first load into a new area.
