Yes but say you're in a situation where you can't make it in a bigger scale? I know you wouldn't come across a situation like this very often, but, still, you never know.

Carpets. Minecraft needs them. What is a carpet? A carpet is something made from wool that rests on top of blocks. Carpets act a bit like snow, they must have a block underneath them, and if that block is destroyed, so is the carpet. A carpet is made like this: with any color of wool, and any time this pattern is made, three carpets are crafted. Creating a pattern such as this: will result in three white-red checkboard patterns, with 5 white squares and 4 reds. This can be done with any colors, such as , , or . Whichever color there are two of when you make a checkboard carpet (in this case there are two whites), will result in the color there are two of having 5 squares in the checkerboard, and the color there is one of having 4 squares. Each carpet takes up one block. Pretty simple, right?


How are carpets different from wool blocks?

Carpets are similar to regular wool blocks, however with carpets you can create more detailed and cool looking designs, with the concept of the checkerboard pattern.
