Well, I have just successfully played for at least an hour with no crashes to report! I'm happy to say that my particular issue has been solved, and I can only hope that the solution to my problem (Posted by MadJack) will apply to everyone else.

Thank you MadJack! You've saved the game for me! :RFlower: I will now change the topic header to announce that the issue is resolved. If anyone else is still having this problem, please continue to post in this forum and use it to help provide attention to others that may assist you. I of course will still monitor the thread myself until it is gone.

    Happy mining everyone!

    Good news everyone!

So far, no crashes! I'll test it for a longer period when I have more time to do so, but so far there's no issues! (Normally it would have crashed by now).

I'm marrying you, Madjack, just so you can save me from my stupidity =p Thank you so much for peeking into this thread.

If other people find that updating their video cards is working, please post here, and I'll officially add SOLVED to the title of the forum.

It seems I did have that old of a version =p Now the Driver version appears just fine. It's strange, I've always tried updating it through the control panel, but it told me that the software was updated. That's what I get for trusting my computer =p

I'll let you know in a bit if Minecraft still hiccups.

Odd. There's no "Driver Version" line anywhere, but there's a ForceWare version that reads 163.71.

    @MadJack

I did use the Java confirmation link, and my specs are one the first post of the thread =) Take a look and let me know if you see anything odd!

I'm having the same problem. I haven't tried to re-install Java yet, but it sounds like this hasn't worked for Angilis, so I don't think it would for me either. I don't have internet access for my PC at the moment, or I would try that too.

Dropping the view distance from FAR to NORMAL has prevented the crash from happening - except in the rare instance where I toggle between them to search for a faraway object, then sometimes it crashes when or after I do that. My computer can run the game fine otherwise - I suspect it is something in the code that isn't playing well with the way something is set on my machine. First chance I get, if no one has resolved this, I'll try the Java reinstall.

The exact same happens to me. It only takes half a minute or so after toggling the setting back to Far for the game to crash. I'm glad this isn't just my problem =p

Actually I've been super busy with school =p I'm sorry for my slow responses. I downloaded from your link and it didn't seem to fix the problem. The only way I can still play Minecraft is through changing the render distance to anything less than Far.

I assure you if any of the suggestions posted did work, I'd be telling you guys about it. Sorry I didn't get back to this thread sooner.

    And it's "She" =p

I don't know if you tried but it's worth a shot.

I know that Java updates frequently and there are SEVERAL entries in the Control Panel (where you uninstall programs). What I would suggest you is to uninstall ALL java entries. Start with the updates then, if the others are still there, remove the others. Reboot and make sure nothing is left in the control panel. At that point try to start Minecraft. If should fail warning about Java being absent or whatever the error message is.

At that point download the latest Standard Edition and try it.

As I said, maybe you tested that, hopefully not and it'll work. :smile.gif:

You mean in the Add/Remove programs?

I definitely uninstalled everything that even mentioned the word Java in it at one point, before reinstalling. Thank you for the tip though =p I appreciate the help.

Also I went to the Java site and tried downloading the Standard Edition and it wouldn't let me. I'll see what I can do soon but I'm fairly positive I've tried this method as well.

*half asleep n not reading properly* but...... that piccy half was down looks like when the 'blocks' r loading...... its the image i get when i start the game or come up from a really really long tunnel, funny eh?

That was an unrelated problem. It hasn't happened since that point. The problem now is still the first one that was addressed.

Hmn, I could give that a try but I'd rather not revert to old drivers. The game plays flawlessly until I change the settings of the view to Far. Is that a driver issue, or a memory issue?

Then again, changing the graphics to Fast didn't solve the problem, only the view of the terrain seemed to affect it.

i figured out my problem if you put render distance to normal it'll work just fine and i dont get the Java(TM) platform SE Binary is not responding error

I gave this a shot and so far it's working. I'm happy it does! Thanks for posting this.

Hopefully we'll be able to play the client with the "far" option on the landscape sometime, but for now this will let me get back to building. Thanks again!

I never implied that you haven't been trying to fix your issue.

I simply wish to keep this topic about solving the problem, and not about complaints regarding the community.

I'll give that a try, but I'm not entirely comfortable with the solution. It'd be nice to play the game to its full potential.

Another update. Got past the weirdness I stated above, but other weird things are happening (my skin reset to default, I can't move and of course Java(TM) SE Binary is still acting up).

It feels like I have the most messed up game ever.

Dude just give up...no ones gonna help us..just play the browser

Thanks but no thanks. I want to be able to run this game from a client, and if this problem fades away then it will never be solved.

    Enjoy the browser.
